Chapter 101: New Outfit

The couple sat in the dining room to have their breakfast together.

An Nuan lowered her head as she ate her porridge. She glanced at Lin Xiao Feng a few times while thinking about their relationship again. An Nuan’s mind drifted to the bedroom that Lin Xiao Feng had prepared. Her thoughts turned complicated. An Nuan was confused with everything that went through her mind.

“An Nuan.”

Lin Xiao Feng’s voice snapped her out of her thoughts.

An Nuan looked up and met Lin Xiao Feng’s gaze.

“I talked to the police officer who was in charge of your case last night,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “Someone came for Sun Jiao early this morning.”

While An Nuan was getting ready in the bedroom, Lin Xiao Feng called a few people to inquire about An Nuan’s fight with Sun Jiao at the event last night.

“Oh.”An Nuan was not really interested to know about Sun Jiao.

Thinking of the Pei family who went to look for her parents last night made her angry.

“That woman said she wanted to sue you and your friend for her injury,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “But you can rest assured. She won’t be able to proceed.”

“Thank you.”

Lin Xiao Feng flashed a smile. “There’s no need to thank me.” He picked up his cup of coffee and paused as another matter came to his mind. I’m going to the office later,” Lin Xiao Feng announced. “Shall I send you back to the hotel on the way?”

“You’re going to work?” An Nuan frowned. “Are you sure you’re well enough to work? Why don’t you take a few days off from work and rest?”

“It’s alright.” Lin Xiao Feng smiled, happy that An Nuan was showing her concern. “I’ve recovered. Besides, I have a lot of work waiting for me at the office. It’s not suitable for me to take a day off.”

These days, the mayor assigned him to oversee an important project.

Lin Xiao Feng had just moved to Capital City not too long ago.

This opportunity from the mayor was not that easy to get.

Lin Xiao Feng wanted to do his best and showed others his capabilities.

An Nuan pursed her lips as she observed Lin Xiao Feng. “You worked hard.”

She hoped that Lin Xiao Feng could rest properly. But then, An Nuan knew that Lin Xiao Feng would not listen.

Men could be quite stubborn when it comes to their work.

She remembered that her father and elder brother were the same. When it comes to company matters, they could bear anything and headed to their office.

They seemed healthier when they were sitting behind their desk while looking at their documents.

The moment they left their office, they would act as if they almost died from a fever.

In her elder brother’s case, he would act coquettishly in front of his wife when he got home.

An Nuan looked up again as she recalled another matter. “Then, let’s cancel the meal with Ren Di tonight.”

Lin Xiao Feng frowned. “Why are we canceling the meal? Your friend had something to do?”

“No.” An Nuan shook her head. “I just thought that you should rest. You have just recovered.”

“I’m fine.”

Lin Xiao Feng was happy that An Nuan was concerned about him. However, he has been looking forward to this meal with An Nuan and her friend.

He wanted to get to know An Nuan again and that includes the people his wife was close to.

“It was not easy for you and Ren Di to come to Capital City,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “Moreover, I already booked a place.” His expression softened when she noticed that An Nuan wanted to speak again. “It’s just a meal. I still need to eat even if I’m not feeling well, right?”

An Nuan pondered over Lin Xiao Feng’s words and decided not to argue with him. “Alright.”

Anyway, they could always end the meal quickly if Lin Xiao Feng was not feeling well.

After breakfast, Lin Xiao Feng drove An Nuan to her hotel before he went to his office.

The two agreed to meet again in the evening for a meal. Lin Xiao Feng told An Nuan that he would come to the hotel to pick her up before heading to the restaurant together.

An Nuan watched as Lin Xiao Feng drove away before she walked into the hotel’s building.

As she walked into the room, An Nuan found Ren Di sitting on the sofa while watching the television.

“You’re back.” Ren Di put down the bag of chips in her hand before walking over to An Nuan. She walked around An Nuan before stopping in front of her.

“What are you doing?” An Nuan chuckled. “Stop walking around me. You’re making me dizzy.”

“Nuan Nuan, you bought new clothes?” Ren Di asked.

When she parted with An Nuan last night, her friend was dressed in a dark blue dress. But now, An Nuan was dressed casually in jeans and a t-shirt.

“Hey, you spent a night at Lin Xiao Feng’s place and came back in a new outfit.” Ren Di gave An Nuan a teasing look.

“I don’t know what is in your mind but you need to stop thinking about it.” An Nuan poked at Ren Di’s arm. She walked past her friend and slammed her body on the mattress. “So tired.”

“What were you doing last night?”

“What else? Didn’t I tell you that Lin Xiao Feng had a fever?” An Nuan pounded her waist. “I had to sleep on the sofa last night while looking after him. My body is all sore.” A yawn escaped her lips. Last night, she did not get much sleep.

“Then is he better now?” Ren Di joined An Nuan and sat on the mattress. “Why did he suddenly have a fever? He seemed alright last night.”

“He’s good at hiding things,” An Nuan said. “I didn’t realize he was unwell until we had dinner together.”

“Then, should we cancel dinner with him?”

“No.” An Nuan turned to look at Ren Di again. “Let’s observe the situation first. If he is still not feeling well, then we’ll have our meal next time.”
