Chapter 111: An Nuan’s Newlywed Husband

Her steps halted.

An Nuan stared at Lin Xiao Feng with her eyes wide. All sorts of thoughts went through her mind, making her unable to react.

Supposedly, it was the driver who should come to pick her up.

Why did Lin Xiao Feng show up?

Why was he driving her family’s car?

Blood rushed to her mind as she recalled that she was talking to Pei Zhi Yi earlier.

One was her husband and one was her ex-fiance.

Lin Xiao Feng walked around the car and opened the passenger’s door for his wife. “An Nuan?”

An Nuan snapped out of her trance when she heard Lin Xiao Feng’s voice.

“Are you not coming?”

An Nuan met Lin Xiao Feng’s eyes. The calm in his gaze made her heart race. After a brief hesitation, An Nuan slid into the passenger’s seat and watched as Lin Xiao Feng closed the door for her.

Pei Zhi Yi was staring at Lin Xiao Feng when the man descended from the driver’s seat and helped An Nuan with the door.

He had dated An Nuan for a while and was familiar with the staff in her family.

Pei Zhi Yi was very sure that An family’s driver was an old man.

Then, who was the person who came to pick up An Nuan?

Pei Zhi Yi was finally able to react when he saw the man closing the door for An Nuan. He rushed over, wanting to grab Lin Xiao Feng’s shoulder to stop him. “Hey!”

Unfortunately for him, Lin Xiao Feng was able to evade Pei Zhi Yi before that man could touch him. Lin Xiao Feng shot Pei Zhi Yi a warning look.

Lin Xiao Feng gave Pei Zhi Yi a scrutinizing gaze. “New?” He let out a chuckle. “You could say that I am new.”

Pei Zhi Yi let out a breath of relief.

He did not know who the man in front of him was. However, he could not deny that he was feeling uneasy the moment he saw the man standing next to An Nuan.

Pei Zhi Yi had to tell himself to calm down. Hearing that the man was a new driver of the An family put his heart at ease.

But Pei Zhi Yi could not understand why the An family would hire a good-looking driver.

What happened to the old man?

Unfortunately, Pei Zhi Yi could not stay calm for too long.

Lin Xiao Feng flashed a smile that did not reach his eyes. “I am An Nuan’s newlywed husband.”

An Nuan gripped her seatbelt tightly. She was relieved that she managed to escape Pei Zhi Yi. However, she was now anxious as she was alone with Lin Xiao Feng.

The atmosphere in the car was too quiet.

An Nuan was worried that Lin Xiao Feng would be angry.

She had told him that she no longer wanted to be entangled with Pei Zhi Yi. Therefore, An Nuan was worried about what Lin Xiao Feng might think when he saw her and Pei Zhi Yi.

An Nuan coughed to break the silence. She flashed Lin Xiao Feng an awkward smile as the man turned to look at her.

“That was my ex,” An Nuan said.

“I know.” Lin Xiao Feng held the steering wheel tighter. “I have seen him before.”

Lin Xiao Feng remembered seeing An Nuan’s wedding photo at the hall’s entrance on the wedding day.

She was standing next to Pei Zhi Yi with a bright smile on her face.

Now that he thought about it, Lin Xiao Feng realized that he did not have a wedding photo with An Nuan.

“What did he say to you?” An Nuan watched Lin Xiao Feng cautiously.

“Nothing much. He wanted to know who I am.” Lin Xiao Feng cast another look at An Nuan. “I told him that I am your husband.”

An Nuan’s heart was beating fast.

She looked out the window and took a few deep breaths to calm down.

“Do you mind?” Lin Xiao Feng asked when An Nuan stayed silent for a while.

“No.” An Nuan answered quickly. “Why would I mind? You are telling him the truth. You are my husband.”

That’s right. He is An Nuan’s husband.

Lin Xiao Feng’s body was no longer tense.

This was the first time he met Pei Zhi Yi face to face and announced his relationship with An Nuan. Lin Xiao Feng was a bit worried that An Nuan might be unhappy that he had said something to Pei Zhi Yi without consulting her first.

Lin Xiao Feng could not describe his feelings when he saw An Nuan and Pei Zhi Yi at the restaurant’s entrance.

“I know. I was at your house when you called Uncle Hu,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “I volunteered to come over and pick you up.”
