Lin Xiao Feng pulled his car into a parking spot and helped An Nuan get out of the vehicle. Seeing that they needed to cross the road, Lin Xiao Feng stretched his hand and held An Nuan’s.

His move was smooth.

Before An Nuan had the chance to figure out what was going on, Lin Xiao Feng pulled An Nuan to the other side of the road. He did not let her hand go even after they crossed. Lin Xiao Feng pointed at the restaurant with his free hand, hoping that An Nuan would not notice anything.

“This is the place?” An Nuan asked as they both stopped in front of the restaurant. She tilted her head to look at the signboard.

“The place looked nice from the outside.” An Nuan turned to look at Lin Xiao Feng. ” You really know a lot of good places.”

Lin Xiao Feng was momentarily stunned upon seeing the smile. He lowered his head to compose his thoughts. His expression was calm but his heart was beating fast.

Holding hands, the couple walked into the restaurant together.

An Nuan requested a quiet table as she needed to talk to Lin Xiao Feng about a lot of things.

They ordered a few light bites and watched as the server walked away.

An Nuan swept her gaze around the place, finding that the atmosphere was quite good. Looking at the aesthetic decoration, An Nuan guessed that the place should be popular for a couple to go on a date.

If it was not for her relationship with Lin Xiao Feng, perhaps, the two of them would look like a couple on a date.

Lin Xiao Feng observed An Nuan as she looked around the place.

As if noticing that someone was looking at her, An Nuan shifted her gaze and met Lin Xiao Feng’s eyes. Her heart skipped a beat at the sudden contact.

“You said that you have something to discuss with me,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “What is it about? Should we talk while waiting for the food to arrive? Or do you want to wait until we eat?”

An Nuan grew anxious as she thought about what she wanted to discuss. But then, she reminded herself that it was no use in delaying. Sooner or later, she still has to say her thoughts.

The more she tried to delay, the more she would hesitate.

He wondered if it had something to do with Pei Zhi Yi.

“Let’s talk now,” An Nuan said. She inhaled a deep breath and looked Lin Xiao Feng in the eyes. “Lin Xiao Feng, I was thinking of moving to Capital City.”

His movement halted.

A lot of thoughts had crossed his mind but Lin Xiao Feng had never thought that An Nuan would tell him that she wanted to move to Capital City.

His heart was pounding fast.

Lin Xiao Feng had to pinch himself under the table to tell himself that he was not dreaming.

He could not deny that he was happy. He had imagined how it would be if they stayed together. However, Lin Xiao Feng reminded himself not to get happy too early before he ended up disappointed.

“What…” Lin Xiao Feng paused and swallowed. “What makes you decide to move to Capital City?”

An Nuan lowered her head as she composed her thoughts. “I’ve thought about this for a while. There are quite a few reasons for my decision. First, I have made a promise to your grandfather.”

Lin Xiao Feng frowned, wondering what An Nuan meant by her promise.

He wondered if his grandfather had met An Nuan behind his back and said a few unnecessary words.

Lin Xiao Feng became unhappy as the thought crossed his mind.

He already told his family not to meddle in his relationship with An Nuan. He didn’t want to put any pressure on An Nuan.

“When I married you, I told your grandfather that I know what it meant to be your wife,” An Nuan said. “I promised him that I would not be a hindrance to you and would help you in any way that I can.”

“An Nuan, I don’t need you to do anything for me,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “This is not the reason I want to marry you. In the beginning, I just wanted to stop my family from arranging another blind date for me.”

A faint smile curled on her lips. “But Lin Xiao Feng, I want to do something for you. You have helped me and my family a lot. But I haven’t done anything for you.”

“An Nuan, I am not a calculative person. I don’t need you to do anything for me in exchange for anything I did for you or your family,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “Don’t consider our current relationship. We have been friends and neighbors for a long time. Our mothers had a good relationship with each other. Based on those reasons, it is natural for me to help you.”

An Nuan had a speechless look on her face. She did not expect that Lin Xiao Feng would be angry over this.

She had thought that Lin Xiao Feng would support her decision.
