Under An Nuan’s confused gaze, Lin Xiao Feng walked over in her direction.

An Nuan thought that she was hallucinating after drinking too much. But seeing Lin Xiao Feng stopping in front of her made her realize that the person in front of her was real.

“How much did you drink?” Lin Xiao Feng asked. He glanced at the table and was relieved to see that there was only one bottle.

“Lin Xiao Feng, why are you here?” An Nuan asked. “Weren’t you supposed to be in Capital City?”

“I came back a while ago.” Lin Xiao Feng heaved in relief upon seeing that An Nuan was still sober.

The atmosphere in the room was dark but Lin Xiao Feng could see that An Nuan’s eyes were a bit unfocused.

“Look. Nuan Nuan, your husband came to look for you the moment he returned,” Liu Qing commented.

A while ago, Lin Xiao Feng still had a bad impression of Liu Qing just because this woman had dragged his wife out to drink. But hearing her calling him An Nuan’s husband put him in a good mood.

“Why didn’t you tell me that you are coming back today?” An Nuan asked. “Lin Xiao Feng, you always returned without informing me first.”

There was a trace of helplessness in Lin Xiao Feng’s eyes.

In his ears, An Nuan’s words sounded a bit like a complaint.

However, his return to Y City was mostly unplanned. Due to his work, Lin Xiao Feng could not plan his trip well. He would always try to finish his work quickly and choose the earliest flight he could get.

“Alright. Next time, I will tell you before I return, alright?” His voice was especially gentle. “Today, there is an emergency.”

“What sort of an emergency?”

“My grandfather urged me to come back. He had something to discuss with me.”

An Nuan’s body stiffened when she heard Lin Xiao Feng mentioning his grandfather.

She has always been afraid of the old man ever since she was a little girl. The old man had a fierce face and often looked at others with his scrutinizing gaze.

But hearing that it has nothing to do with her finally made her feel at ease.

“Nuan Nuan, let’s go home. It’s getting late.”

“No. I still have a lot to discuss with Liu Qing,” An Nuan said. “Lin Xiao Feng, you should go back first. Liu Qing and I planned to stay here and drink until one of us passed out.”

Lin Xiao Feng shifted his gaze to Liu Qing, causing the woman to stiffen.

Liu Qing leaned on the sofa and closed her eyes, pretending as if she was asleep. She wanted to continue partying with An Nuan but did not dare to do anything that would upset Lin Xiao Feng.

“Hmm?” An Nuan turned around and finally saw her friend sleeping on the sofa. Her eyes narrowed. An Nuan walked to Liu Qing and touched her cheek. “Qing Qing, why are you sleeping? Wake up. You only had a few glasses. How can you pass out now?”

Liu Qing stayed still under Lin Xiao Feng’s eyes.

“If you want to drink, I can accompany you,” Lin Xiao Feng said.

This was the first time that Lin Xiao Feng had seen An Nuan drunk. He did not expect that An Nuan would be difficult to talk to.

“I have a lot of wine collection back home,” Lin Xiao Feng said. He inched closer to An Nuan while keeping his eyes on her. “Don’t you want to try them?”

An Nuan blinked a few times.

She did not care about drinking that much. All she wanted was to drink with Liu Qing. But something in Lin Xiao Feng’s eyes fascinated her.

Lin Xiao Feng’s voice snapped An Nuan out of her trance. She lowered her gaze and saw Lin Xiao Feng’s stretched hand towards her. An Nuan raised her head again and met Lin Xiao Feng’s eyes.

Lin Xiao Feng held An Nuan’s hand tightly and pulled her to the door.

“Wait.” An Nuan stopped on her track. “What about Qing Qing?”

“You don’t have to worry about her. I have someone who will look after her and send her home.”

“Would I lie to you?”

An Nuan drew back when she realized that Lin Xiao Feng was standing too close to her.

While An Nuan was not paying attention, Lin Xiao Feng pulled her towards the door to leave.

A staff walked over just as they both stepped out.

Lin Xiao Feng reminded the staff to look after Liu Qing and arranged for someone to bring Liu Qing back home. After settling the bills for the girls, Lin Xiao Feng finally took An Nuan away.
