Chapter 142: You Don’t Like Them?

An Nuan gradually relaxed after chatting with Lin Xiao Feng while waiting for their food.

It doesn’t feel different than their usual video chat. This time, they were sitting face-to-face.

Lin Xiao Feng was still worried that An Nuan would not get used to living in a different city.

However, An Nuan assured Lin Xiao Feng that she would be alright. After all, she had once lived overseas by herself. Staying in another city should not be a problem for her.

She was comfortable being with Ye Qing Xin and planned to work with her.

Ye Qing Xin’s company planned to release a line of clothes under her brand and An Nuan was invited to collaborate with them. To promote her work, Ye Qing Xin planned to use An Nuan’s jewelry as accessories for their models.

Speaking about the models reminded An Nuan of the clothes she found in her wardrobe.

An Nuan took a sip from her water and raised her head. “Lin Xiao Feng.”

“Hmm?”

He lowered the chopsticks in his hand as he waited for An Nuan to continue.

An Nuan hesitated briefly before continuing, “I saw the clothes in the wardrobe earlier. Some of them were quite new, wasn’t it? I saw the brand from the fashion show I went to with Ren Di not too long ago.”

Lin Xiao Feng’s heart skipped a beat.

He was the one who bought those clothes for An Nuan. Hearing An Nuan mention the clothes made him wonder if there was something wrong with them.

“You don’t have to buy clothes for me next time.”

“You don’t like them?”

“It’s not that. I like them. They were pretty. The style was something that I would wear,” An Nuan said. “But don’t you think that you have been buying too many clothes for me? I don’t think I will get the chance to wear them all.”

Lin Xiao Feng was more at ease, knowing that An Nuan did not dislike them.

“You don’t have to worry about it,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “I think, you will get a lot of chances to wear those dresses.” He smiled when he saw that An Nuan did not seem to agree with him. “Didn’t you say that you wanted to help me? An Nuan, I hope that you will be able to accompany me to a few social events as my wife.”

An Nuan remembered telling Lin Xiao Feng that she wanted to help him with his career. Then, wearing a pretty dress and socializing is something that she should do.

“Of course, I am not going to force you to go,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “If you did not want to attend any of those events, you should tell me. I don’t want you to be uncomfortable.”

“You are right.” An Nuan laughed. “I will get a lot of chance to wear those clothes if I have to attend a few events with you.” She picked up her chopsticks again and clipped on the prawn dish in front of her. “As for the events, you don’t have to worry about me. You know very well that I used to accompany my parents to a lot of events from my teenage. If there is an event you need me to show up, you can tell me. Lin Xiao Feng, you know very well that I am quite free these days.”

Lin Xiao Feng smiled.

“Right.” An Nuan raised her head again when she remembered another matter. “Didn’t you tell me that the mayor invited us to his place? When are we going to visit them?”

“I will confirm the date with the mayor later,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “I think, the mayor should invite us to their place in the upcoming weekend. I will update you once I figure out from them.”

Once the meal was over, Lin Xiao Feng paid for their bills before returning to his car.

Lin Xiao Feng promised An Nuan that he would take her around the neighborhood.

There was a garden nearby where they could go for a walk or jog. Not too far away, there was a cafe. According to Lin Xiao Feng, their coffee was quite good.

He showed An Nuan a few spots that served delicious breakfast. Later, they made plans to visit the restaurants to have breakfast together in the future.

After driving for a while, Lin Xiao Feng finally pulled over his vehicle in front of a supermarket. He turned to An Nuan and said, “This place is a five-minute walk from our house. Usually, Auntie Yu would come over and buy a few ingredients from this place. There was also a wet market not too far from here. I will show you around later.”

Lin Xiao Feng paused as he watched An Nuan look out the window. The light from the supermarket illuminated her face. For a few seconds, Lin Xiao Feng was mesmerized by An Nuan’s pretty face.

His heart was beating fast.

He still found it hard to believe that the person he liked was right beside him.

Lin Xiao Feng was still staring at An Nuan when she suddenly turned to him. He snapped out of his trance and reminded himself to remain composed. Lin Xiao Feng smiled when An Nuan shot him an inquiring look. “An Nuan. Do you want to go inside and take a look?”
