“What is it?” An Nuan asked as soon as she reached Lin Xiao Feng’s side.

Lin Xiao Feng bent down to grab the basketball beside him. Then, he looked at An Nuan again and smiled. “Would you like to try? Basketball.” He glanced at the ball again before raising a brow to An Nuan.

“Me?” Her eyes went wide.

Although An Nuan thought basketball looked quite exciting, she preferred to watch instead of participate.

“I’m not good at it,” An Nuan said.

She had tried basketball when she was younger during physical education class. However, she quickly gave up, finding she was not good at it.

“It’s alright. I can teach you if you like.” Lin Xiao Feng’s eyes trained on An Nuan as he waited for her to decide. He wanted An Nuan to give it a try, but he did not want to make Her do something she did not want to do.

“You won’t laugh at me, would you?” An Nuan looked at him hesitantly.

“Of course not.”

An Nuan pursed her lips. After a brief silence, she finally nodded her to agree. “Alright. As long as you are not going to laugh.”

Lin Xiao Feng passed the ball to An Nuan and watched her catch it perfectly.

An Nuan stared at the ball for a while before she started to bounce the ball on the floor. Her movement was awkward. The last time she had touched a basketball was years ago.

Once in a while, An Nuan would glance at Lin Xiao Feng, wanting to see his reaction.

An Nuan felt more at ease when Lin Xiao Feng was not laughing at her.

“It’s not that bad,” Lin Xiao Feng commented after a while. “You will get better after enough practice.”

An Nuan laughed. But she did not stop dribbling the ball.

She also felt that she had gotten slightly better after dribbling the ball for a while.

“Just…” Lin Xiao Feng moved behind her and placed his hand on An Nuan’s back. “You need to straighten up a little bit. Like this.”

Before An Nuan could react, Lin Xiao Feng already retracted his hand.

An Nuan finally stopped. She held the basketball in her hand while watching Lin Xiao Feng pulling a few tricks. “Hey, that’s not fair.” An Nuan was breathless after dribbling the ball for a bit. “I can’t do those fancy moves like you.”

“I’ll teach you in the future if you are interested.” Lin Xiao Feng stopped on his track before throwing the ball into the loop.

An Nuan watched as the ball entered the loop. Then, the boys who were watching them clapped.

“Now, you try,” Lin Xiao Feng said as he turned to An Nuan.

“I’m not good at this.” An Nuan shook her head. “It won’t enter the loop.”

“It’s okay if the ball did not go in,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “Just give it a try. I’ll teach you.”

“Yes, sister-in-law, just give it a try,” the teenage boy who first came to get Lin Xiao Feng said. “It’s alright even if the ball did not go in. You can do it again.”

An Nuan swept her gaze around the basketball court. Seeing the teenage boys’ encouraging gaze, An Nuan did not have the heart to give up very quickly.

She walked over to Lin Xiao Feng to stand a distance away from the loop.

An Nuan inhaled a deep breath and held the ball in her hand.

“Raise your hand a little bit like this,” Lin Xiao Feng said as he adjusted An Nuan’s posture. “Alright. Just try to shoot it once.”

With her eyes on the loop, An Nuan made her first throw. The ball hit the outer loop before it bounced back.

Her heart sank. An Nuan had hoped that the ball would go in.

“It’s alright! It’s alright!” The boys cheered.

Lin Xiao Feng picked up the ball before going to An Nuan’s side again.

“Would you like to try again?” Lin Xiao Feng shot An Nuan a smile.

An Nuan inhaled another deep breath before taking the ball from Lin Xiao Feng’s hand. She dribbled the ball briefly before raising her head again.

“Just relax.” Lin Xiao Feng placed a hand on An Nuan’s shoulder. “Keep your eyes on the loop. Breathe.”

An Nuan did as Lin Xiao Feng had instructed.

With the man standing behind her and giving her another pointer, An Nuan jumped up slightly and made another shot.

Her heart pounded as she watched the ball fly towards the loop.

The ball hit the loop again. But this time, it was on the inside.

An Nuan tightened her hand into a fist as she watched the ball bounce back slightly. She inhaled a deep breath and prayed for the ball to enter the loop.

The ball rolled on the loop for a bit before it finally went in.

Suddenly, there was a loud cheer.

An Nuan stared at the ball in disbelief. She turned around slowly to find Lin Xiao Feng. The corner of her lips tilted to a wide smile the moment she met his eyes.

Without thinking straight, An Nuan spread her arms and hugged Lin Xiao Feng tightly.

Her sudden move turned Lin Xiao Feng into a statue. He stood still and did not dare to make a move.

As if noticing what she had done, An Nuan pulled away. She looked at Lin Xiao Feng guiltily and said, “Sorry. I was just…” An Nuan let out a cough as she pushed a few strands of hair away behind her ear. “I get too excited.”

Lin Xiao Feng quickly adjusted his emotions. “It’s alright.” He raised his hand and patted An Nuan’s head. “You did very well.”
