Chapter 149: Heart Pounding Scene

“Lin Xiao Feng, you are quite popular among the neighbors here,” An Nuan commented as they almost reached their house. “Look, the young and old like you.”

“I’m sure you’re exaggerating.” Lin Xiao Feng laughed. “I happened to help them a few times previously. Then, our relationship got better. That’s all.”

An Nuan also thought that Lin Xiao Feng was good at talking to elders.

Perhaps, that was the reason her parents had quickly changed their mind and let him marry her.

Of course, An Nuan did not say these words out loud.

The couple continued to walk slowly.

Once they almost reached the house, An Nuan finally noticed that the two of them were still holding hands.

A while ago, Lin Xiao Feng held her hand while introducing her to their neighbors.

They had to act like a happy couple in front of others. Therefore, An Nuan played along when Lin Xiao Feng pulled her closer to him.

However, she did not expect them to hold hands for a long time.

From the community park and now, they had reached their gates.

Her mind was telling her that she should pull her hand away. But An Nuan was worried that her move would be too sudden. When Lin Xiao Feng realized that they had been holding hands for a long time, he might feel awkward.

Suddenly, An Nuan recalled the scene where she rushed to hug Lin Xiao Feng after she managed to shoot the basketball into the hoop. She thought that it would take a while before she could succeed. But, she managed to shoot one on a second try.

An Nuan felt her face turn hot as the memory came to her mind.

Subconsciously, An Nuan lowered her head to hide her reddened cheek. Her gaze fell on Lin Xiao Feng’s hand that was holding hers.

His grip on her hand was neither too loose nor too tight but, the veins on his arm were quite visible.

In the end, An Nuan ended up examining Lin Xiao Feng’s hand until they reached home.

Lin Xiao Feng finally released her hand at the door.

An Nuan watched his reaction and guessed that Lin Xiao Feng had not noticed that they had been holding hands.

A breath of relief escaped her.

She was relieved that she did not say a word earlier. Otherwise, she would feel awkward.

“Are you hungry?” Lin Xiao Feng asked as he strode towards the kitchen. “Should we have a meal together?”

Auntie Yu had left earlier after preparing some dishes and tidying up the place. Therefore, there were only the two of them in the house.

Her stomach let out a low grumble.

An Nuan remembered that she had a late breakfast. Later, she told Auntie Yu not to prepare anything for lunch as she planned to snack on some fruits she bought yesterday.

“Mhm…” An Nuan nodded. She watched as Lin Xiao Feng washed his hands and noticed that he was still in his work attire.

His shirt stuck on his back as he had sweated a lot while playing basketball with the boys.

“Lin Xiao Feng.” She waited until the man turned to look at her again. “Why don’t you take a shower first while I heat up the food?” She pointed a finger at him. “It’s not comfortable to wear that shirt all the time, right?”

“You don’t mind?”

An Nuan waved a hand. “Of course, not.”

“Then, I’ll leave our dinner to you.”

An Nuan watched as Lin Xiao Feng headed upstairs. Then, she walked to the stove to reheat the food that Auntie Yu had prepared earlier. Fortunately, Auntie Yu had given her a clear instruction on what she should do before she left.

The couple had their meals together.

Then, Lin Xiao Feng volunteered to tidy up the dining area and let An Nuan return to her room first.

An Nuan spent a while in the bathroom. When she walked out, An Nuan noticed that there was an email from Ye Qing Xin’s company.

Before coming to Capital City, An Nuan had contacted a few manufacturers with her elder brother’s recommendation and finally settled on one. An Nuan had seen their craftsmanship and was satisfied with their work.

Now that An Nuan planned to work with Ye Qing Xin, she planned to release a line of her collection and watch the market.

The jewelry was done and sent to Ye Qing Xin’s company.

However, they now needed a few documents before they could start advertising her jewelry on their website.

An Nuan wrapped the towel around her hair while looking for the documents that Ye Qing Xin’s company had asked for.

Fortunately, it did not take An Nuan a long time to find the documents she was looking for. She had seen the documents early that morning and remembered where she had placed them.

But now, she needed to upload the document on her computer.

She wondered if Lin Xiao Feng had a scanner somewhere in his study. The last time she went to that room, she did not take a proper look.

With the document in her hand, An Nuan walked over to the study room.

She stood in front of the door, wondering if it would be okay for her to go in. Yesterday, Lin Xiao Feng said that she could use the study whenever she liked.

An Nuan raised her hand and knocked on the door.

A few seconds ago, An Nuan heard Lin Xiao Feng’s voice from the inside, telling her to come in.

She pushed the door and saw Lin Xiao Feng sitting behind his desk while looking at her.

“Lin Xiao Feng.” An Nuan waved the document in her hand. “Sorry. Am I disturbing?”

“An Nuan, you are not disturbing.” Lin Xiao Feng did not mind even if An Nuan wanted to disturb him.

“Do you happen to have a scanner? Can you help me with this?”

“Come on over.” Lin Xiao Feng waved his hand. He stood up and walked to the side where his scanner was located.

An Nuan walked over to Lin Xiao Feng’s side and handed over the document in her hand.

“Do you mind if I scan this into my computer and email you later?”

“Mhm…” An Nuan nodded. “Whatever is convenient to you.”

Lin Xiao Feng lowered his gaze and halted as he saw the pajama An Nuan was wearing through his peripheral vision.

It was a long-sleeved pajama but the neckline was so low that he happened to see a heart-pounding scene.

From the look of it, An Nuan did not seem to notice anything. She was too worried about her documents.

Heat crept to his face.

Lin Xiao Feng tried to focus on his task quickly before An Nuan noticed that something was wrong with him.

Fortunately, it was an easy task. Once he had scanned the documents, he handed the papers back to An Nuan. “Here you go. I’ll email those documents to you in a while.”

“Mhm…”

Lin Xiao Feng let out a cough when he noticed that An Nuan did not leave. “Go back to your room first. Dry your hair. Or else, you would get sick. Don’t worry about your documents. I’ll email them to you as soon as possible.”

“Thank you.” An Nuan finally remembered that she still had the towels wrapped around her head.

Lin Xiao Feng inhaled a long sigh once An Nuan had left.

He closed his eyes, hoping to forget the scene he saw earlier but it was difficult with An Nuan’s scent still lingering in the room.

Initially, Lin Xiao Feng planned to attack An Nuan with his good looks. He did not expect that An Nuan would be the one to attack him first.
