Chapter 150: Qi Zheng’s Reminder

“Mr. Lin, this is the document that you asked for,” Secretary Shi said as she placed a file on Lin Xiao Feng’s table. She watched as her boss flipped through the documents and briefed him about the contents.

Once she was done, Secretary Shi stood quietly at the side while waiting for Lin Xiao Feng to give his instructions.

“Alright.” Lin Xiao Feng finally lowered the document in his hand. “Double-check with the finance department and proceed as planned.”

“Understood.” Secretary Shi leaned over to take the document on the table.

“Is there anything else?” Lin Xiao Feng asked while keeping his eyes on the computer screen.

“Mr. Yi from PTG called earlier to ask if you will be joining them golfing this Sunday,” Secretary Shi informed.

“Tell him I won’t be able to attend.” Lin Xiao Feng said. He finally raised his head to meet Secretary Shi’s eyes. “I have an invitation from the mayor.”

Secretary Shi frowned. She tapped her fingers on the tablet’s screen to check on her boss’s schedule but did not see any program scheduled with the mayor.

“This is a personal matter,” Lin Xiao Feng explained when he saw the puzzled look on the secretary’s face.

Secretary Shi opened her mouth wanting to ask a few more questions. But just in time, Lin Xiao Feng’s phone on the desk started to buzz loudly.

Lin Xiao Feng glanced at the screen and waved a hand at his secretary. “You leave first.”

Secretary Shi pursed her lips. Seeing that her boss had a phone call he needed to answer, Secretary Shi finally left the office and closed the door behind her.

“Xiao Feng.” Qi Zheng’s voice was heard as soon as Lin Xiao Feng picked up the phone call. “I heard that An Nuan is finally living with you in Capital City now.”

Lin Xiao Feng raised a brow at Qi Zheng’s question. “It has been almost a week now. The boys already teased me a long time ago. Why did you only call now?”

“It can’t be helped.” Qi Zheng heaved a long sigh. “I was locked in the research center for a few days. I got off yesterday and saw the group chatting just now.”

Recently, Qi Zheng was busy with his research in G Country. The last time Lin Xiao Feng talked to his friend, Qi Zheng said that his research would almost reach the end. Once he had completed everything, he would return to Y City and hold a wedding banquet with his wife.

The two friends chatted about Qi Zheng’s research for a while.

“Lin Xiao Feng, you haven’t answered me yet,” Qi Zheng said when he finally remembered the reason he called. “You and An Nuan… How is it going?”

There was a brief silence as Lin Xiao Feng was thinking about living with An Nuan these past few days.

Other than the time An Nuan had hugged him after shooting a basketball into the hoop, nothing interesting happened between them.

They haven’t made a lot of progress but Lin Xiao Feng was satisfied that they were now living together.

These past few days, Lin Xiao Feng has been observing An Nuan.

He was glad to see that she was always in a good mood and was currently working hard on her collaboration with Ye Qing Xin’s company.

Lin Xiao Feng did not know just how long An Nuan would need to move on from her relationship with her ex.

For now, Lin Xiao Feng could only let An Nuan get used to his presence around her. He was afraid that if he made a sudden move, An Nuan would get scared and chose to keep a distance from him.

Lin Xiao Feng was mostly afraid that he would lose An Nuan before he could even try to win her.

“It’s not that bad,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “I don’t want to rush. I have waited long enough. I don’t mind waiting for a while longer.”

“You also almost lost An Nuan when she decided to marry someone else,” Qi Zheng reminded him. “Lin Xiao Feng, waiting is not a bad thing but you must remember to take the initiative sometimes.”

Lin Xiao Feng fell into a deep thought after he ended his conversation with Qi Zheng.

Something that Qi Zheng said made him panic, especially when he imagined that someone would take An Nuan away.

Later that day, Lin Xiao Feng left his office on time so that he could accompany An Nuan at home.

He deliberately rejects from attending any unnecessary gathering in the evening for An Nuan.

Lin Xiao Feng knew that An Nuan did not have any friends in Capital City and he was worried about leaving her alone. At least, with him around, An Nuan will always have someone to talk to.

When he reached home, Lin Xiao Feng noticed that there were a few boxes in the living room. He peeked at one of the boxes and saw An Nuan’s name on it.

After a brief thought, Lin Xiao Feng figured that An Nuan’s belongings that her family sent from Y City should arrive earlier today.

“Lin Xiao Feng?” An Nuan called his name as she popped out of the kitchen. “When did you come back?”

“Just now.” Lin Xiao Feng looked at the boxes again.

“Sorry. My stuff arrived a while ago. I’ll tidy it up later.”

“It’s alright. You can take your time to organize everything,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “If you need my help to carry them upstairs, just say the word.”

An Nuan smiled. “Hmm… I might need your help later.” She turned around as she recalled another thing. “That’s right. It seems that there is a parcel for you as well.” An Nuan pointed at the dining area. “I put it on the dining table.”

Lin Xiao Feng raised a brow. He walked to the dining room to fetch the parcel An Nuan had mentioned. The frown on his face deepened when he noticed that it was from Feng An Yu.

Lin Xiao Feng tore the box cautiously and peeked into it. The corner of his lips began to twitch when he realized what it was.

When he married An Nuan, Feng An Yu joked about sending him some supplements for endurance and such.

Lin Xiao Feng did not expect that Feng An Yu would really send him those supplements now that he was living with An Nuan.

Feng An Yu really needs a good beating.

“Lin Xiao Feng? What is it?” An Nuan asked when she realized that his expression looked a bit strange.

“It’s nothing.” Lin Xiao Feng wanted to throw away that box of supplements but had no choice but to hold it tighter. “An Yu just sent me something.” He let out an awkward cough. “An Nuan, I’ll go to my room and take a shower first.”

“Mhm…” An Nuan did not suspect anything. “Go ahead.”
