On the weekend, An Nuan put on the dress Lin Xiao Feng had bought for her. The mayor and his wife invited them to their house, wanting to get to know Lin Xiao Feng’s wife.

The thought of meeting the mayor again made An Nuan nervous.

An Nuan knew that Lin Xiao Feng looked up to the mayor and the mayor had considered Lin Xiao Feng as his son. Because of this, An Nuan was especially worried that she would make a mistake while meeting the mayor later.

After putting on her lipstick, An Nuan took a step back to examine herself in the mirror. Once she was satisfied with her look, She grabbed her purse and left her room.

Lin Xiao Feng was already waiting for her as An Nuan came downstairs.

Hearing her steps, Lin Xiao Feng looked up from his phone only to see An Nuan walking toward him.

An Nuan was always pretty. But it was not always that Lin Xiao Feng got to see An Nuan dressed up prettily like this. He could not look away when she put on some blush and lipstick.

His heart skipped a beat.

It made him feel as if the person before him was a fairy descended from the sky.

“Lin Xiao Feng?” An Nuan let out an awkward cough. She noticed that Lin Xiao Feng had been staring at her for a while but she could not figure out what this man was thinking. His expression was always calm. “What do you think? Is this appropriate?”

An Nuan chose to wear a light blue dress. It was a flare knee-length dress with tiny flowers printed all over it. The dress was not too casual or too formal. She thought it would be suitable to wear for lunch at the mayor’s house.

But now that Lin Xiao Feng was staring at her, An Nuan began to wonder if this dress was really appropriate.

Was her dress too bright? Too plain?

Should she go and change?

Previously, there were a few other dresses that she thought would be suitable for her to wear.

“It looks good on you.” Lin Xiao Feng tore his gaze away from An Nuan. He stood up and walked over. “Don’t worry. This dress is just appropriate.” Lin Xiao Feng stopped in front of An Nuan. “You looked beautiful.”

In Lin Xiao Feng’s opinion, An Nuan looked pretty in whatever she was wearing.

Their gazes met and their distance made his heart pounded loud and fast against his ribcage.

There was a brief silence between the couple. They looked into each other’s eyes, wondering what the other had in mind.

Suddenly, Lin Xiao Feng raised a hand to push a strand of hair behind An Nuan’s ear. Then, he looked away, forcing himself to compose himself. “There’s something in your hair.” He blew at his fingers, pretending as if he was discarding whatever he picked up from An Nuan’s hair. “We should go now.” Without waiting for An Nuan to respond, Lin Xiao Feng walked to the entrance.

An Nuan stared at Lin Xiao Feng’s back with her eyes wide.

Her heart was beating fast as she remembered how Lin Xiao Feng was standing too close to her.

He told her that she looked beautiful.

That was unexpected.

Later, An Nuan thought that Lin Xiao Feng was going to do something to her when he suddenly inched closer and raised his hand to touch her.

A strange feeling crept into her heart. The tension was making her body turn stiff.

She remained motionless, not even daring to blink.

An Nuan reminded herself not to make a move.

Unexpectedly, Lin Xiao Feng was only removing something from her hair.

An Nuan let out a chuckle.

She reminded herself not to think too much.

Her relationship with Lin Xiao Feng was nothing more than cooperation.

Lin Xiao Feng probably did not have any thoughts about her.

Taking a deep breath, An Nuan walked to the entrance and put on a white stilettos. Her shoes matched the color of the flowers printed on her dress.

An Nuan thought that Lin Xiao Feng would be waiting for her in the car. But just as An Nuan pushed the door open, she found that Lin Xiao Feng was standing outside, waiting for her.

His gaze fell on the stilettos she was wearing. Then, he stretched his hand and looked at her.

She put her hand into Lin Xiao Feng’s and let him walk her over to his car.

An Nuan glanced at Lin Xiao Feng as he was putting on his seatbelt.

She realized that Lin Xiao Feng was quite a gentleman.

Each time they went out, he would offer his hand to hold and open the door for her.

Initially, An Nuan had thought that Lin Xiao Feng was doing everything to show others around them that they had a good relationship. But now, she realized that Lin Xiao Feng did not change his habit even when there was no one else around.

While An Nuan was still in her thoughts, Lin Xiao Feng had driven away from their community.

An Nuan looked out the window and saw the tall building from a distance away.

A thought came to her mind, making her turn to look at Lin Xiao Feng again.

“I forgot,” An Nuan broke the silence between them. “Lin Xiao Feng, we are going to the mayor’s house but we did not bring anything for them. This… this isn’t appropriate. Should we stop somewhere and buy something?”

Her mind whirled to think of something to buy for the mayor and his wife.

It would be better if the shop was along their way to their destination. However, it hasn’t been long since An Nuan moved to Capital City. She was unfamiliar with this place.

Lin Xiao Feng glanced at An Nuan and smiled. “This is your first time you are visiting the mayor. Of course, we could not appear empty-handed. But you don’t have to worry about that. I already prepared everything.”
