Chapter 157: Should I Drive You Over?

The couple sat in the dining room while having their breakfast in silence.

An Nuan stole a few glances at Lin Xiao Feng.

A breath of relief escaped her when she saw that Lin Xiao Feng was eating the breakfast she made.

As if noticing that someone was looking at him, Lin Xiao Feng raised his head to meet An Nuan’s gaze. The look in his eyes was asking An Nuan why she was looking at him.

“How is the food?” An Nuan asked.

“Pretty good.”

An Nuan smiled.

The foods she made were simple. She guessed that Lin Xiao Feng was saying those words to make her happy.

“Right.” Lin Xiao Feng wiped his hand on the napkin before turning to An Nuan again. “An Nuan, you’re going to attend the charity dinner with Madam Jiang today, right?”

“Hmm…” An Nuan was still nervous when she thought about meeting the madams at the event. Now that Lin Xiao Feng had mentioned the dinner, An Nuan realized that she had not picked up an outfit she should be wearing for the evening.

“Are you going to drive to the venue?” Lin Xiao Feng asked.

An Nuan pondered over Lin Xiao Feng’s question. Before she could answer, Lin Xiao Feng had spoken again.

“You’re not very familiar with Capital City,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “Should I drive you over?”

An Nuan sat up straight. “It’s alright. I won’t trouble you. Lin Xiao Feng, I can call a driver to drive me over.”

“It’s no trouble,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “Coincidentally, I am going out in the evening as well.”

There was a trace of surprise in An Nuan’s eyes. “You have a social event this evening?

“No. Yu Han and his family are coming to stay in Capital City for a few days,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “I think he got some business at his hotel. I’m going to meet him in the evening.”

“Zhang Yu Han and his family… His wife is coming too?”

“Hmm…” Lin Xiao Feng nodded. “Well, the couple is always together. A few years ago, Yu Han got into an accident after coming back from an outstation. Since then, his wife would always come with him whenever he needed to go anywhere.”

Lin Xiao Feng and his group of brothers remembered the accident very well.

Zhang Yu Han’s condition was quite bad. The doctor managed to save his life. However, after the operation, Zhang Yu Han did not wake up for a long time. The doctor said he was recovering well but no one knew why he did not wake up.

His wife, Li Qin Yao would stay by Zhang Yu Han’s side while praying for the man to wake up.

Fortunately, Zhang Yu Han woke up. They would not know what would happen if something happened to Zhang Yu Han, especially as his wife was pregnant with their second child.

Since that accident, Li Qin Yao get anxious whenever Zhang Yu Han goes anywhere. Because of that, Zhang Yu Han would take his wife wherever he went to stop her from worrying.

An Nuan heaved a sigh as she thought of the Zhang couple.

She had known Zhang Yu Han for a while and thought that this man was often serious. Who would have thought that she would see Zhang Yu Han’s soft side when he was with his wife?

“I haven’t seen her for a while,” An Nuan said. She remembered that petite lady she met not too long ago.

Li Qin Yao was someone easy to get along with. An Nuan had met Li Qin Yao briefly but she could get along with her well.

“Then, let’s have dinner with them in a few days,” Lin Xiao Feng suggested. “I’m sure his wife would be happy to see you as well.”

An Nuan thought of Lin Xiao Feng’s suggestion and nodded. “Alright.”

Lin Xiao Feng lowered his gaze when An Nuan agreed.

Just then, the couple heard the sound of the door opening. A few seconds later, Auntie Yu’s figure appeared at the dining room entrance. She could not hide her surprise when she saw the couple having their breakfast together.

After serving the couple for a while, she was used to seeing Lin Xiao Feng having his breakfast alone. Then, once he left for work, An Nuan would come down to have her breakfast.

Auntie Yu thought that it was strange that the couple did not have their breakfast together. They were newlyweds but Auntie Yu thought that they seemed more like housemates.

As someone who wanted to keep her job for a long time, Auntie Yu did not dare to make any comment.

Seeing the couple together just now made her feel more at ease. At least, the Lin couple was not like she had thought.

Look. Mrs. Lin woke up earlier to prepare breakfast.

“Auntie Yu,” Lin Xiao Feng called. “You don’t have to make breakfast for today. My wife and I already ate.”

“Alright.” Auntie Yu looked at the couple alternately and smiled. “Mr. Lin, did you prepare today’s breakfast?”

There were times when Lin Xiao Feng would prepare a meal himself when he was in a hurry. This time, Auntie Yu thought that it was Lin Xiao Feng who prepared their breakfast.

“No.” Lin Xiao Feng glanced at An Nuan. “It was my wife.”

“Ah?” Auntie Yu looked surprised.

“I didn’t make anything fancy. Just a few toasts.” An Nuan lowered her head. She was quite shy at the thought that a great cook like Auntie Yu was looking at the simple breakfast she made. “I’ll clean up the table.”

“No. No.” Auntie Yu put down her bag and rushed forward. “Mrs. Lin, let me clean up everything.”

An Nuan was about to tell Auntie Yu that she did not mind cleaning up for a bit until she saw the look in Auntie Yu’s eyes. Auntie Yu looked as if she was pleading with An Nuan not to steal her job away.

“Alright then.” An Nuan took a few steps back from the dirty dishes. “Then… I’m going to return to my room first.”
