Chapter 160: A Detour

On their way home, An Nuan asked Lin Xiao Feng about his meeting with Zhang Yu Han.

Lin Xiao Feng mentioned that Zhang Yu Han had invited them both to a small gathering between friends in a few days as Feng An Yu would be in Capital City as well.

An Nuan quickly agreed to join in the fun, thinking that she hadn’t met her friends for a while.

With Zhang Yu Han’s wife around, she could relax a little bit.

“That’s right.” Lin Xiao Feng glanced at An Nuan as a thought came to his mind. “My mother called earlier today and asked about our wedding photo.”

“Wedding photo?” An Nuan was surprised when Lin Xiao Feng suddenly mentioned this matter.

“Hmm…” Lin Xiao Feng nodded. “Our parents did mention wedding photos a while ago. I told them that we will be shooting them once we are free.” He tried to look at An Nuan’s reaction but it was difficult when he had to focus on his driving. “Just now, my mother was asking about it again.”

An Nuan was quiet for quite some time. “Alright. When do you plan to go?”

Lin Xiao Feng did a double take at An Nuan. He thought that An Nuan was going to find an excuse to avoid the photoshoot. He was ready to convince An Nuan to go. Unexpectedly, An Nuan had agreed.

“Are you sure? You don’t mind going?” There was a hint of caution in Lin Xiao Feng’s tone.

An Nuan chuckled at Lin Xiao Feng’s response. “We promised our elders that we would take some wedding photos.”

She still remembered Lin Xiao Feng’s grandfather mentioned that the Lin family wanted to hold another wedding banquet for them next year. This time, they would invite Lin’s family and friends.

However, An Nuan was not sure if her marriage with Lin Xiao Feng would last that long. Currently, what they had was nothing more than cooperation.

She did tell Lin Xiao Feng that she would let him go if he found someone he liked.

If Lin Xiao Feng wanted to be with someone else, she would let him go.

“Then, is it alright if we go and shoot the photos next month? I’ll take a few days off for the wedding photoshoot.”

“Where are we going? An Nuan looked at Lin Xiao Feng curiously.

An Nuan wondered if they were going somewhere far when she heard Lin Xiao Feng planning to take a few days off.

“Let’s have our photoshoot in the country,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “I was thinking of D Town. Zhang Yu Han mentioned that the place was quite pretty. I’ve been wanting to visit the town but haven’t had the time to.”

Initially, Lin Xiao Feng wanted to shoot their photo at the beach. But Lin Xiao Feng changed his mind when he heard Zhang Yu Han and a few of their friends talk about this town.

He figured that nature would help An Nuan to relax.

“I haven’t heard of D Town.” An Nuan frowned. She took out her phone to search for the small town.

The photos of their nature tempted her to visit the place.

“This place looked pretty,” An Nuan commented. “I don’t have any objection. Lin Xiao Feng, I’ll leave everything to you.”

She did not want to think about the wedding and would prefer for Lin Xiao Feng or their elders to handle everything.

“Alright then.” Lin Xiao Feng smiled.

The car was stopping at a red light when Lin Xiao Feng’s phone rang.

Lin Xiao Feng pursed his lips into a thin line when he saw the name on the screen. He put on his earbuds and swiped his finger on the screen.

An Nuan turned to Lin Xiao Feng and watched as he listened to the other party’s talking. Looking at his expression, An Nuan gassed that the phone call should be about work.

She thought that the phone call would last for a while longer. Unexpectedly, his phone call ended before An Nuan could look out the window again.

“An Nuan.” Lin Xiao Feng called. “Do you mind if I make a detour and stop by the office first?” There was a trace of helplessness in his expression. “It won’t be long. I just need to pick up some documents.”

“It’s alright.” An Nuan nodded. “I have never seen the building you worked in.”

Lin Xiao Feng flashed An Nuan a smile. Then, he changed lanes and made a U-turn.

It did not take them a long time to reach the city center. Soon, Lin Xiao Feng pulled his vehicle over in a parking spot. He turned to An Nuan and said, “Would you like to come in with me?”

An Nuan was going to tell Lin Xiao Feng that she would wait for Lin Xiao Feng in his car. However, she quickly changed her mind when she saw how dark the atmosphere around the parking area was.

The government office area was quite lively in the morning. But now that the sky had long turned dark, the area was especially quiet. An Nuan thought that the place looked quite eerie.

There was only Lin Xiao Feng’s vehicle parked in the area.

She was afraid of ghosts. Of course, An Nuan would be unwilling to stay around by herself.

“I’ll come with you,” An Nuan said. She grabbed her purse in a hurry.

Lin Xiao Feng walked around his car before helping An Nuan to get off.

An Nuan held onto Lin Xiao Feng’s arm as they walked to the entrance. With the dark surroundings, An Nuan could not help but inch closer to Lin Xiao Feng.

The corner of Lin Xiao Feng’s lips turned to a helpless smile when he noticed An Nuan holding onto his arm tightly. He could tell that An Nuan was afraid. Lin Xiao Feng wanted to hasten his steps. But he was worried that An Nuan would sprain her ankle as she was wearing her high heels.

The light was brighter as they were closer to the building. Lin Xiao Feng could feel An Nuan’s grip on his arm gradually loosened.

They stepped into the lobby and were greeted by the guard on duty.

“Mr. Lin.”

Lin Xiao Feng turned around when he heard the familiar voice and found that his secretary walking over in his direction.
