Chapter 161: Watching Lin Xiao Feng Work

“Secretary Shi?” Lin Xiao Feng frowned. “Why are you here this late?” He remembered that his secretary left the office around the same time as he did in the evening.

“I left a few important documents on my desk,” Secretary Shi said. “I came back to get them.” Her eyes shifted to An Nuan who was standing next to her boss. “Mrs. Lin, hello.” The smile on her face did not reach her eyes.

An Nuan greeted the secretary politely.

She had met Lin Xiao Feng’s secretary previously.

It might be An Nuan’s imagination. But she could feel the way Secretary Shi was looking at her was strange. However, An Nuan quickly dismissed that thought.

Secretary Shi was working with Lin Xiao Feng.

Surely, she was overthinking.

“Mr. Lin, why are you here?” Secretary Shi asked.

“Just here to get a few things.” Lin Xiao Feng led An Nuan to the elevator and Secretary Shi trailed after them closely.

The elevator stopped at their level and the three entered after each other. Then, there was a long silence.

An Nuan stayed closer to Lin Xiao Feng just because there was another person in the elevator. What she did not know was that Secretary Shi who stood at the front was watching An Nuan’s every movement through the reflection on the elevator’s wall.

Seeing An Nuan dressed up prettily made the secretary wonder if the couple went on a date. She suddenly remembered that Lin Xiao Feng had rushed home early today.

Usually, her boss would stay at the office and bury his nose in some documents.

But recently, Secretary Shi began to notice that her boss rarely stayed over to work. He had rejected several business dinner invitations as well.

Secretary Shi wondered if her boss’s schedule had changed because of his wife.

Her eyes stayed on her boss for a few seconds longer.

Usually, Secretary Shi did not dare to stare at Lin Xiao Feng openly. But it was different now that she was watching him through the reflection.

The secretary was still observing the couple when suddenly her gaze met with An Nuan’s through the reflection. Secretary Shi was startled as she did not expect An Nuan to suddenly raise her head.

Secretary Shi started to panic when An Nuan flashed a smile.

The secretary could feel that An Nuan had noticed her staring.

Fortunately for her, the elevator stopped at their floor at this time.

Secretary Shi looked away before rushing out of the elevator.

“Let’s go.” Lin Xiao Feng said to An Nuan once his secretary left without saying a word. His movement halted when he realized that An Nuan was watching him with a strange look on her face. “What’s wrong?”

“It’s nothing.” An Nuan shook her head.

Looking at the way Lin Xiao Feng’s secretary was staring at her earlier bore some thoughts in her mind.

An Nuan had a feeling that Secretary Shi liked Lin Xiao Feng. After all, she too was a woman and An Nuan understood Secretary Shi’s gaze on Lin Xiao Feng earlier.

However, An Nuan did not want to mention this matter to Lin Xiao Feng.

“Come on.” An Nuan smiled.”We should go and get your documents quickly.”

Lin Xiao Feng still felt that there was something strange. However, he could not figure out what it was. He shook off that thought in his mind and led An Nuan to his office.

The area was quite dark.

An Nuan held onto Lin Xiao Feng’s arm tightly until they reached his office. She finally heaved a breath of relief once Lin Xiao Feng turned on the lights.

“Have a seat.” Lin Xiao Feng motioned towards the sofa seat. “I’ll go and find the documents I need. Then, we can leave.”

“Mind if I look around?” An Nuan asked.

“Go ahead.” Lin Xiao Feng smiled before heading to his work table on the other side.

An Nuan swept her gaze around Lin Xiao Feng’s office and was surprised to see that it was quite big.

It seemed that his office was divided into two parts.

There was an area where Lin Xiao Feng would receive his guests and then, there was an area where Lin Xiao Feng would work. His office was decorated with simple furniture. An Nuan thought that the interior was very different from how Lin Xiao Feng had decorated his house.

His office seemed a bit cold.

There was a foliage plant at the corner of his guest’s receiving room, making it seem a little out of place.

Of course, An Nuan was unaware that before Lin Xiao Feng married her, his house’s interior was almost the same as his office. Lin Xiao Feng chose to decorate his house only when the idea of An Nuan moving to Capital City came to his mind.

An Nuan moved to the other side where Lin Xiao Feng was still looking for his documents. She stood at the entrance while watching the man sandwiching his phone between his left ear and his shoulder while talking to the other person on the other line in a low voice.

His conversation should be about work.

Once in a while, his brow would crease deeply.

An Nuan thought that Lin Xiao Feng looked quite good with the serious look on his face.

She realized that she had known this man for too long. Previously, An Nuan had never given Lin Xiao Feng a good look.

An Nuan ended up standing at the side while watching Lin Xiao Feng work. He was too focused on his documents that he did not see her leaning half of her body on the wall.

That’s right.

Lin Xiao Feng was good-looking. There were quite a few beautiful women around him as well.

An Nuan suddenly wondered why this man did not have a girlfriend.

He mentioned that his family was trying to set him up for a few blind dates but he was not interested.
