Chapter 163: Teasing Lin Xiao Feng

The atmosphere in the car was silent.

An Nuan would glance at Lin Xiao Feng a few times and see the serious look on her face while he was focusing on his driving. Then, An Nuan would turn to look at Secretary Shi and the two would exchange smiles.

The nervous smile on Secretary Shi’s face was quite interesting to look at. Secretary Shi tried to act casual but An Nuan could still detect the hint of guilt in her eyes.

A while ago, Secretary Shi tried to converse with Lin Xiao Feng by mentioning a few work matters. However, Lin Xiao Feng’s answer was always short.

Secretary Shi finally stopped trying to ignite a conversation once she noticed the hint of impatience in her boss’s tone of voice.

After a while, they finally reached Secretary Shi’s residential area. The place she lived was not that far from the company.

Lin Xiao Feng parked his car at the entrance and looked through his rear mirror. “Secretary Shi, we are here/”

Secretary Shi grabbed her purse and scrambled to get out of the car. She had one foot out the door when she heard An Nuan’s voice, calling her name.

“Mrs. Lin?” Secretary Shi flashed another smile.

An Nuan pointed at something on the seat. “You forgot your documents.”

Secretary Shi followed An Nuan’s line of gaze. Her cheek was burning as she picked up the documents on the seat. “Thank you for your reminder, Mrs. Lin.” She gets off the car and poked her head into the car again. “Mr. Lin, Mrs. Lin, thank you for the ride.”

An Nuan nodded. “Mmm… Secretary Shi, walk safely.”

Secretary Shi glanced at her boss. Then, seeing that her boss was not looking at her, Secretary Shi could only close the door in frustration.

Lin Xiao Feng locked the door again and drove off, leaving the secretary alone in front of the entrance.

An Nuan sat up straight. As Lin Xiao Feng drove farther, she recalled Secretary Shi’s gaze on Lin Xiao Feng again, making her chuckle.

“Why are you laughing?” Lin Xiao Feng glanced at An Nuan. His tone of voice was no longer as unfriendly as talking to Secretary Shi earlier. “An Nuan, you have been acting strange from earlier.”

“Am I?” An Nuan smiled.

“Hmm…” Lin Xiao Feng glanced at An Nuan again. He felt as if his wife was planning something bad. But Lin Xiao Feng could not be so sure.

“Lin Xiao Feng, what do you think of Secretary Shi?” An Nuan asked.

“Secretary Shi?” The frown between Lin Xiao Feng’s brows deepened. “She’s a good and capable staff.” He looked at An Nuan again, looking confused. “Why are you asking me this?”

An Nuan leaned closer to Lin Xiao Feng, hoping to observe his expression as she told him what was on her mind. “Lin Xiao Feng, how would you feel if I told you that your secretary might like you.”

“What do you mean? Like?” Lin Xiao Feng looked at An Nuan with a gaze that said she was talking nonsense. “Stop talking nonsense. Secretary Shi has been working with me for a few years. We don’t talk about anything else other than work.”

An Nuan smiled. She already guessed Lin Xiao Feng’s reaction.

“There’s really nothing going on between Secretary Shi and me.” Lin Xiao Feng looked serious.

He only had one person in his heart. An Nuan.

Currently, he is still chasing An Nuan. Lin Xiao Feng did not want An Nuan to misunderstand his relationship with his secretary. It would make it harder for him to chase her.

“Alright.” An Nuan giggled. “I believe that you have no other relationship with your secretary other than for work. But Lin Xiao Feng, you should still be cautious. I saw the way your secretary looked at you. I’m not wrong. She likes you.”

“I don’t like her,” Lin Xiao Feng answered almost immediately.

The smile on An Nuan’s lips widened.

Why didn’t she know that teasing him could be this fun?

His reaction was interesting to look at. He almost looked like a child, sulking because she continued to tease him.

“Alright. I won’t say it anymore.” An Nuan giggled. Then, she looked out the window to hide her smile.

Lin Xiao Feng finally heaved a breath of relief when An Nuan stopped teasing him. However, thinking about the words that An Nuan said earlier made him frown again.

He was telling An Nuan the truth.

Secretary Shi had worked for him for quite some time and he liked how she was always efficient with her work. He had never looked at his secretary with a different intention. Therefore, he would never notice if Secretary Shi’s eyes on him were a bit different.

Now that An Nuan had pointed it out, Lin Xiao Feng began to wonder if he should keep his eyes on his secretary.

It was better if An Nuan was mistaken.

The couple stayed in silence. Lin Xiao Feng had a lot on his mind after hearing what An Nuan had said. Meanwhile, An Nuan was in a good mood after teasing Lin Xiao Feng for a bit.

Finally, they reached their residential area.

Lin Xiao Feng pulled over his vehicle in his usual parking spot and got off. Habitually, he went to An Nuan’s side to help her with the door. He still held her hand to support her as An Nuan was wearing high heels.

The couple had just walked into the house when Lin Xiao Feng heard An Nuan call his name again. He turned around to look at her and waited for her to continue saying what she wanted to say.

“Previously, you mentioned that you are marrying me to avoid attending another blind date set by your family,” An Nuan said. Her eyes watched the man in front of him. Now that they were face to face, it was easier for An Nuan to look at his reaction. “I wonder… Have you ever liked someone before?”
