An Nuan did not notice the change in Lin Xiao Feng’s mood. After all, the man was quite good at keeping his expression calm in most situations, and she was used to his calmness.

But a few minutes ago, An Nuan noticed Lin Xiao Feng was not so calm when she teased him.

She thought that it would be interesting to tease him again. She had known Lin Xiao Feng for a while. But after they both grew up, An Nuan had never seen Lin Xiao Feng lose his composure. She wanted to see Lin Xiao Feng with a different expression.

“I remember something that Liu Qing said to me the other day,” An Nuan continued. “She said that during high school, you never really interacted with other girls. It got me thinking whether you have been interested in anyone before.” The mischievous smile on her face was getting obvious.

Lin Xiao Feng tightened his hand to a fist to keep his composure. “Why are you asking me this question.”

“I’m just curious,” An Nuan admitted. “You married me because you wanted to avoid meeting new girls. Thinking about it, I don’t remember if I have heard news about you dating anyone.” An Nuan hesitated briefly. “Lin Xiao Feng, could it be that you don’t have an interest in the opposite gender?”

“Don’t talk nonsense.” Lin Xiao Feng’s expression turned uglier once he understood what An Nuan was saying. “I don’t like men.”

An Nuan paused when she noticed the hint of anger in Lin Xiao Feng’s expression. “So, you like women.”

“Of course.” Lin Xiao Feng turned around and walked into the kitchen. An Nuan’s words made him angry. However, Lin Xiao Feng did not want to be angry at An Nuan or argue with her.

For now, it was better for him to go away and put this conversation on stop.

Lin Xiao Feng reached for a glass and poured himself a glass of water.

The cold water helped him to calm down a little bit.

Turning around, Lin Xiao Feng was startled to find that An Nuan was standing behind him. It was too quiet and he thought that she was still in the living room.

“Lin Xiao Feng, are you angry?” An Nuan looked guilty.

She was curious and had probably asked some questions that she was not supposed to ask.

An Nuan thought that Lin Xiao Feng was probably angry that she had doubted his preferences.

“I’m not angry.” Lin Xiao Feng exhaled a long breath.

Even if he was angry, his anger would quickly subside with the way An Nuan was looking at him.

His heart was soft. Especially towards An Nuan. Unfortunately, the person in front of him was unaware of his feelings.

“Well, don’t be angry,” An Nuan continued. “I was just curious. You told me that you don’t need anything from me while you have helped me and my family so much.”

Lin Xiao Feng looked at An Nuan helplessly. He stretched his hand and patted her on the head. “Don’t think too much. I really didn’t have any other intention when I volunteered to marry you. But An Nuan, isn’t it good that you are not marrying another stranger?”

An Nuan smiled. “You are right. I wouldn’t know how to get along with a stranger.”

Now that An Nuan thought about it, she felt that marrying Lin Xiao Feng had many perks.

Lin Xiao Feng heaved a sigh in relief, thinking that he had diverted their earlier topic to something else.

“You must be tired after attending that charity dinner,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “You should go and rest earlier.”

An Nuan did not answer immediately. Instead, she stared at Lin Xiao Feng’s face, trying to read his mood. Before Lin Xiao Feng could ask her what she was doing, An Nuan turned around and walked out of the kitchen.

Lin Xiao Feng thought that An Nuan was finally listening to him.

Unexpectedly, An Nuan stopped on her track as she reached the entrance.

“Lin Xiao Feng,” An Nuan called. “Can I ask you one question?”

“Have you never liked anyone before?” An Nuan asked. Her lips tilted up to an apologetic smile when An Nuan noticed the change in Lin Xiao Feng’s expression. “I’m just curious.”

The corner of Lin Xiao Feng’s lips froze. He thought that this conversation had ended. Unexpectedly, An Nuan had not moved on.
