An Nuan stared into Lin Xiao Feng’s eyes, wondering if this man was joking. Perhaps, he was angry at her demand and this was his way of getting back at her.

She imagined that Lin Xiao Feng would step back and tell her that he was joking.

However, An Nuan soon realized that Lin Xiao Feng might not be joking.

Her heartbeat accelerated. Lin Xiao Feng’s stare made it harder for her to breathe properly. An Nuan told herself to look away, but she could not make a move.

“You…” An Nuan managed to squeak after a long silence. “What are you saying?” She tried to smile but An Nuan could feel her muscles stiffen. “Lin Xiao Feng, don’t joke around. This isn’t funny.”

“Do you think I’m joking?” Lin Xiao Feng placed a hand on the wall to block An Nuan from running away.

Earlier, this girl teased him. He wanted to keep his secret, but An Nuan insisted on learning about it.

Since An Nuan wanted to know, then, he would tell her.

This time he was not going to back out.

“An Nuan, you have known me for a long time. You should know whether I am serious or not,” Lin Xiao Feng continued. “Most importantly, I would never joke about something like this.”

An Nuan inhaled a sharp breath. Her ears were buzzing. An Nuan was sure that her ears were playing tricks on her.

“From the beginning until now, the person I liked is you. It has always been you,” Lin Xiao Feng said.

“No.” An Nuan shook her head again. “You are lying.”

Lin Xiao Feng chuckled.

An Nuan’s reaction was something that he had long expected.

“You wanted to know if I have liked anyone before,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “Nuan Nuan, I am telling you now that I do have someone I like, and that the person I liked is you. I am not lying. I won’t lie to you about this matter.”

“No.” An Nuan was still having a difficult time believing Lin Xiao Feng’s words. “It can’t be true.”

“Why can’t it be true?”

Lin Xiao Feng wondered if it was too difficult for An Nuan to believe that he liked her.

“You… You said you liked me for years,” An Nuan said. “Then, why didn’t you tell me in the past? Why… Why now?”

“I have my reason.”

“What reason?”

An Nuan quickly understood Lin Xiao Feng’s meaning the moment he mentioned his grandfather.
