Chapter 170: What Did He Like about Her?

“An Nuan,” Lin Xiao Feng called her name before An Nuan could think of running.

“Uh…” An Nuan tried to smile but felt the corner of her lips move awkwardly. She had not expected that she would see Lin Xiao Feng in the morning.

Ah, no. It’s already the afternoon.

“You…” An Nuan cleared her throat, hoping that she could ease her awkwardness. “Why are you at home? Aren’t you supposed to go to work?”

“I had an online meeting earlier,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “I’ll head to the office later.”

“Oh.” Suddenly, An Nuan did not know where she should put her hands and feet while she was facing Lin Xiao Feng. Her stomach was growling, asking to be fed. But, An Nuan just wanted to head back to her room.

“Mrs. Lin.”

Auntie Yu’s voice made An Nuan turn around.

“Auntie Yu.” An Nuan greeted the woman.

“Mrs. Lin, I already prepared a few dishes,” Auntie Yu said. “Would you like to eat now?”

An Nuan opened her mouth to answer. However, Lin Xiao Feng interrupted before she could say anything.

“Let’s eat together,” Lin Xiao Feng said. He turned to Auntie Yu and nodded. “Auntie Yu, please go and prepare two sets of cutleries.”

“Of course.” The smile on Auntie Yu’s face widened as it was rare for her to see the couple together. She wondered if things in the house were going to change.

Without waiting for An Nuan to answer, Auntie Yu turned around and headed to the kitchen.

Lin Xiao Feng turned to An Nuan again. “Come on. You should be hungry.”

He had waited for An Nuan for a long time.

Lin Xiao Feng began to wonder if An Nuan was going to starve herself just to avoid him. Now that An Nuan was in front of him, Lin Xiao Feng was not going to let her go easily. There were a few more things that he wanted to say to her.

An Nuan watched as Lin Xiao Feng walked to the dining area and hesitated.

Taking a deep breath, she then decided to have her meal with Lin Xiao Feng.

An Nuan figured that she could not hide forever. They were living in the same house and they would always run into each other. She had to face him sooner or later.

As she walked into the dining area, she found that Lin Xiao Feng had already pulled a chair for her.

Her heartbeat raised steadily as she looked at Lin Xiao Feng.

An Nuan watched him for a while before walking over.

She realized that Lin Xiao Feng would always help her with her door or chair. Whenever they went out together, he would hold her hand.

An Nuan had always thought that Lin Xiao Feng was raised to be a gentleman.

But now, she realized that Lin Xiao Feng might have another reason behind his action.

She really did not know Lin Xiao Feng as well as she thought.

An Nuan decided that she should keep her eyes on Lin Xiao Feng.

Soon, Auntie Yu walked into the room while carrying a tray of dishes.

Looking at the three dishes and one soup in front of her made her stomach grumble again. The dishes on the table…everything was her favorite.

“Mr. Lin said that these dishes are all your favorite,” Auntie Yu said. “Mrs. Lin, you have to eat a little more.”

An Nuan was surprised to hear Auntie Yu’s words. She raised her head and saw Lin Xiao Feng looking at her.

In the past, An Nuan had always thought that Lin Xiao Feng was always calm. But now that she met his gaze, An Nuan realized that Lin Xiao Feng’s eyes could contain a lot of emotions in them.

His piercing gaze made her heartbeat speed and her face turned hot.

An Nuan quickly looked away to avoid Lin Xiao Feng’s eyes again.

“Let’s eat.” Lin Xiao Feng picked up his chopsticks and ate his meal slowly.

After a brief pause, An Nuan finally picked up her chopsticks and began to eat. Once in a while, she would steal a glance at the man across from her.

Lin Xiao Feng’s confession was still lingering in her head.

Until now, An Nuan was having a hard time believing that Lin Xiao Feng liked her. Moreover, his feelings started from when they were younger.

What did he like about her?

She had so many questions, but it was too awkward to ask them now.

An Nuan was nibbling on her rice when she saw Lin Xiao Feng leaning closer to her. Her eyes widened as she wondered what this man planned to do when suddenly, a piece of ribs appeared on her bowl.

“Don’t just eat the rice,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “An Nuan, you have to eat the dishes too.”

“Oh.” Under Lin Xiao Feng’s gaze, An Nuan ate the ribs in her bowl before drinking her soup.

“An Nuan.”

Lin Xiao Feng’s voice made An Nuan look up again.

“Were you scared?” Lin Xiao Feng asked. His lips pursed into a thin line when An Nuan did not reply to him. “I’m sorry. That was not my intention. I never wanted to scare you.”

“I’m not.” An Nuan put down her chopsticks and looked at Lin Xiao Feng. “I’m not scared. It’s just that… What you told me yesterday was too sudden. I am still in the middle of processing everything. Just give me more time to think.”

Lin Xiao Feng exhaled a faint breath. “I know that what I said might be a bit too much for you to take. I am not going to ask you for your answer. An Nuan, you can take as long as you need. I don’t mind waiting for you.”

Her heart ached upon hearing Lin Xiao Feng’s words.

This man liked her for years and was still willing to wait for her for as long as she needed.

“But An Nuan,” Lin Xiao Feng continued. “Whatever it is, I hope that you can promise that you won’t try to avoid me. Can you do that?”
