Chapter 172: What Else Did She Fail to Notice?

In the evening, An Nuan dressed up casually before she went out of her room.

Lin Xiao Feng was seen talking to someone on the phone as she walked into the living area. An Nuan watched him for a while and felt her heartbeat rising steadily.

Going out with Lin Xiao Feng again made her nervous.

Then, her eyes fell on the roses that Auntie Yu had placed in the living room.

The bouquet that Lin Xiao Feng sent to her was too big.

Auntie Yu had to divide the flowers into two vases.

One vase was placed in the living room while another one was placed in her bedroom.

She wanted to ask Lin Xiao Feng about the flowers but became too shy to bring them up.

Noticing her presence, Lin Xiao Feng turned around to meet her gaze.

He spoke to the other person on the phone and ended their conversation before walking over to An Nuan.

“Are you ready?” Lin Xiao Feng asked.

“Hmm…” An Nuan nodded. “Is it alright to dress up like this?” She did not know what sort of gathering Lin Xiao Feng was going to take her to and was afraid that she was underdressed.

“It’s alright.” Lin Xiao Feng smiled. “It’s just Yu Han and a few others.” He gave An Nuan a lookover and thought that she looked pretty in anything she wore.

Lin Xiao Feng stretched his hand habitually and waited for An Nuan to place her hand into his. “Should we go now?”

An Nuan hesitated before finally placing her hand on Lin Xiao Feng’s. As they walked to leave the area, An Nuan’s eyes fell on the roses in the living room again.

She cleared her throat and spoke, “That… Lin Xiao Feng.”

“Hmm?” Lin Xiao Feng turned to look at her.

“Thank you for the roses.”

Lin Xiao Feng followed An Nuan’s line of gaze and smiled. “You’re welcome.”

An Nuan did not miss the glint in Lin Xiao Feng’s eyes when he looked at the roses. An Nuan felt the urge to laugh upon seeing the happy look on Lin Xiao Feng’s face.

She was the one who received the roses. But why did Lin Xiao Feng look happy about it?

“Do you like them?” Lin Xiao Feng asked.

“Hm… They are pretty.” An Nuan kept her eyes on Lin Xiao Feng, wanting to watch his every expression. Recently, she found that Lin Xiao Feng’s eyes could be quite expressive. “But, why did you suddenly send me some flowers?”

“Do I need a reason to send you some flowers?”

His answer was unexpected. An Nuan opened her mouth but found that she could not say anything.

She could only look away to hide as Lin Xiao Feng’s gaze had become too piercing.

Suddenly, An Nuan recalled receiving the box of sweets from Lin Xiao Feng at the beginning of their marriage.

Lin Xiao Feng said Zhang Yu Han was buying them for his wife and he joined in to send a box to her.

An Nuan remembered seeing the ‘Happy Anniversary’ card along with the box of chocolate. Back then, when An Nuan inquired Lin Xiao Feng about it, he told her that his friends were the ones who placed the card, wanting to tease him a bit.

But now, An Nuan wondered if that was the truth.

Perhaps, Lin Xiao Feng really remembered their anniversary and sent her the chocolate and card.

An Nuan glanced at Lin Xiao Feng a few times.

Her heartbeat accelerated as she came to realize a few things that she had never noticed before.

The couple left the house together.

As soon as the car moved, An Nuan looked out the window. Her heart was still beating fast.

Now that she knew about Lin Xiao Feng’s feelings towards her, An Nuan began to notice that the way Lin Xiao Feng was looking at her had changed.

She began to wonder if Lin Xiao Feng had always looked at her this way.

Suddenly, An Nuan recalled her conversations with her mother-in-law and her sister-in-law.

The people around her encouraged her to give Lin Xiao Feng a chance.

A few days ago, Qi Zheng told him that sending flowers would help. After all, that was how Qi Zheng won his wife’s heart. Qi Zheng said that most women liked flowers and An Nuan should like them as well.

Lin Xiao Feng thought that An Nuan would be happy when she received the flowers. But then, her reaction was not what he had anticipated.
