Chapter 175: Stupid or Adorable

After a long conversation and a meal together, Lin Xiao Feng and An Nuan bid goodbyes to their friends.

Lin Xiao Feng held the steering wheel while glancing at An Nuan once in a while. Seeing that An Nuan appeared to be in a good mood made him smile.

He hoped that An Nuan would be able to smile like this forever.

Lin Xiao Feng was casting another glance at An Nuan when he happened to meet her eyes. He looked away quickly, hoping that An Nuan would not notice him staring.

Unfortunately for Lin Xiao Feng, An Nuan did notice him looking.

The smile on An Nuan’s lips gradually faded. She lowered her head while contemplating Lin Xiao Feng’s gaze.

Ever since Lin Xiao Feng had confessed to her, An Nuan had become wary whenever she was with Lin Xiao Feng.

He told her that she should not hide or feel burdened over his feelings for her. It was not easy for her but An Nuan had tried her best trying to behave as usual whenever she was with Lin Xiao Feng.

Later, she would recall that Lin Xiao Feng was still waiting for her answer and this would once again make her hesitate.

She found herself in a situation where she could not reject him or accept him.

An Nuan was in a dilemma.

She did not want to waste time being in a relationship only to get hurt again.

“Did you have fun hanging out with the girls?” Lin Xiao Feng asked to break the silence.

Lin Xiao Feng’s voice snapped An Nuan out of her thoughts. “Hmm… It’s not bad. Yue Xiu and Xing Xing were very friendly,” An Nuan said. “They invited me to hang out later. Yue Xiu invited me to watch a movie with her as well. I already made plans to go out with her in a few days.”

“That’s good.” Lin Xiao Feng was relieved to hear that An Nuan was getting along with the girls well.

Then, the silence between them continued.

“An Nuan.” Lin Xiao Feng waited for An Nuan to look at him again. “Do you mind if we stop at the grocery store? There’s a few things that I need to buy.”

“Mmm… Go ahead.” An Nuan heaved a sigh of relief when Lin Xiao Feng made that suggestion. She felt that the atmosphere in the car was getting a bit awkward.

Going out for a walk at the grocery store might be able to help her relax around Lin Xiao Feng.

With An Nuan’s approval, Lin Xiao Feng changed the direction of the car and headed to the grocery store near their residential area.

It did not take them too long to arrive as they were near the area.

Lin Xiao Feng pulled over his car into the parking area. He turned to An Nuan and asked, “Do you want to come along?”

“Alright.” An Nuan unbuckled her seatbelt. “I could go in and take a look around.”

A faint smile appeared on Lin Xiao Feng’s lips.

He did not have a reason to stop by the grocery store. He just wanted to spend more time with An Nuan.

It would be a waste of time for him to stop by the grocery store if An Nuan did not come in with him.

Once he reached the entrance, Lin Xiao Feng grabbed the trolley and started to push it around. He went from one aisle to another as if looking around for something.

However, his eyes were not really on the products on the aisle.

Lin Xiao Feng was busy keeping his eyes on An Nuan, wanting to observe her every move and expression.

Whenever An Nuan turned to look at him, Lin Xiao Feng would pretend to be interested in a product in front of him before placing it into his cart.

This situation happened a few times.

It did not take a long time for An Nuan to notice that something was going on.

She peeked into the trolley before looking at Lin Xiao Feng who was currently holding a bottle of cooking oil.

He already picked up a few cans of soda which An Nuan was sure that he would never drink.

After observing Lin Xiao Feng for a while, An Nuan finally came up with a conclusion.

Lin Xiao Feng was walking around the store and putting some stuff in his cart randomly.

As for his reason, An Nuan felt that it was mostly related to her.

She understood what Lin Xiao Feng was trying to do. But looking at him now gave her a sense of helplessness.

An Nuan did not know whether she should call Lin Xiao Feng stupid or adorable.

“Lin Xiao Feng.” An Nuan called his name as she watched him stuffing the bottle of oil into the cart. She watched the man turn to look at her. Then, An Nuan gestured towards the stuff in the cart. “Just what is it that you want to get here?”

“What do you mean?”

“Why are you buying cooking oil and soy sauce?”

“What’s wrong with buying them? I think we almost finished them at home.”

“I thought that buying cooking oil and soy sauce was something that Auntie Yu would do. When did you start buying them?” An Nuan peeked into the cart again and picked up a bottle of pet odor eliminator for? We don’t have a pet.”

Lin Xiao Feng followed An Nuan’s line of gaze and saw the odor eliminator for the first time. He did not realize when he put the bottle in the cart.

He probably wasn’t thinking straight when he took that bottle.

“Maybe I’m thinking about getting a pet.” Lin Xiao Feng realized that his voice did not sound very convincing even to himself.

An Nuan chuckled. She stood up straight and looked Lin Xiao Feng in the eyes. “Tell me the truth. What do you really want to get here?”

Lin Xiao Feng hesitated. He realized that he could not come up with any other lousy excuses as An Nuan would not believe him.
