Chapter 180: Lin Xiao Feng’s Help

An Nuan was quiet throughout their journey to the restaurant.

She looked out the window, seemingly enjoying the city’s view while in fact, she was watching Lin Xiao Feng through her peripheral vision. All sorts of thoughts went through her head. She could hear Ren Di’s and her mother’s words echoing in her head.

Both of them were telling her that she should observe Lin Xiao Feng for a bit.

Looking at him now, An Nuan thought that Lin Xiao Feng seemed to be in a good mood.

Was he that happy to go out for dinner with her?

The thought made her heart beat faster.

Ever since she was aware of Lin Xiao Feng’s feelings towards her, An Nuan would often feel strange when she was around this man. She had the urge to escape. But at the same time, An Nuan felt that she wanted to look at Lin Xiao Feng’s movement a little more.

Lin Xiao Feng said that he had liked her for a long time.

However, the judge was changed to someone else recently.

She did not know that Lin Xiao Feng had helped her and her family a lot after their marriage.

In the past, An Nuan did not know much about Pei Zhi Yi’s business with her family. It was only after Pei Zhi Yi continued to pester her that she knew a bit about them.

Initially, her family should be facing some loss after breaking their relationship with Pei Zhi Yi’s company. However, An Nuan learned that Lin Xiao Feng had helped them by introducing a few people to her father and elder brother. Instead of bearing some loss, her family got better deals. Which was why Pei Zhi Yi and his family were furious.

An Nuan looked at Lin Xiao Feng one more time.

When she was undecided about what she wanted to do, it was Lin Xiao Feng who helped her to meet Ye Qing Xin.

Now, she can return to her passion for designing jewelry without worrying much about anything else.

An Nuan suddenly wondered just what else had Lin Xiao Feng done for her without her knowledge.

The car finally stopped.

An Nuan snapped out of her thoughts and realized that they had reached their destination.

She turned to Lin Xiao Feng only to meet his gaze.

An Nuan quickly avoided Lin Xiao Feng’s gaze before letting out a cough. “Are we here.”

Lin Xiao Feng nodded. “I heard a few staff from the office were talking about this restaurant the other day. I was thinking of coming over and trying their dishes with you. Come on.” Lin Xiao Feng unbuckled his seatbelt.

An Nuan alighted from the car and the couple walked to the restaurant together.

By now, An Nuan was getting used to having Lin Xiao Feng holding her hands whenever they walked together. Each time he offered his hand to her, An Nuan would put her hand into his without saying a word.

Lin Xiao Feng took An Nuan to the top floor of the building before they reached the restaurant.

A server greeted them at the entrance before leading them to their seat next to the large window where they could watch the city’s night view while they had their meal.

An Nuan looked out the window and was fascinated by the lights outside.

Soft piano music was in the background and there was a stalk of rose in the vase right in front of them.

The atmosphere around them was quite romantic.

If this was not a date, An Nuan did not know what it was.

The server returned with their menu.

An Nuan chose a few dishes and watched as the server left.

Finally, there was only Lin Xiao Feng in front of her.

Meeting his gaze made An Nuan feel awkward again. They were sitting face to face and there was no way that she could avoid him. She tried to find a topic to talk about with Lin Xiao Feng and finally recalled her conversation with her mother.

“My mom called earlier,” An Nuan said. “She told me that they were returning to the country soon.”

“That’s good.” Lin Xiao Feng nodded.

“Lin Xiao Feng.” An Nuan stared into the man’s eyes. “I heard from my mother that you helped them speed up the process when the court was taking too long to issue a restraining order. Thank you.”

“What’s there to thank me about?” Lin Xiao Feng chuckled. “An Nuan, your parents are my parents too. And you…” The corner of his lips rose slightly. “You are my wife. It’s only natural for me to help.”

Her heart was beating fast again.

An Nuan avoided Lin Xiao Feng’s gaze again, thinking that it was going to be difficult to talk to Lin Xiao Feng calmly.

“My mom said, they are planning to stop by Capital City when they return. They’re planning to stay over our place for a few days.”

Lin Xiao Feng looked happy when An Nuan referred to their house as ‘our place’.

He planned to ask his parents-in-law to spend a while longer in Capital City to accompany An Nuan. This would help to cheer An Nuan a little bit.
