Chapter 182: This was Really a Date?

After paying their bills and leaving the restaurant, An Nuan thought that Lin Xiao Feng was going to drive straight home. Unexpectedly, Lin Xiao Feng asked her if she would like to go for a walk around the area.

Thinking that she had been eating too much earlier, An Nuan agreed.

It was better to go for a walk to help digest the food she had eaten earlier.

After walking for a while, the two arrived at a square where there were a lot of people gathered. As An Nuan looked around, she could see a few young couples walking their dogs and a group of middle-aged ladies dancing.

The atmosphere was quite lively.

Just watching everyone having a lot of fun made An Nuan smile as well.

She turned to Lin Xiao Feng, wanting to point at an adorable puppy not too far away from them. Unexpectedly, she caught Lin Xiao Feng staring at her. The look in his eyes was so sweet and tender that it brought butterflies to her stomach.

The alarm in her head started to blare.

Each time Lin Xiao Feng looked at her this way, An Nuan would start to panic.

An Nuan breathed deeply to calm down. “Lin Xiao Feng, you…” She paused to clear her throat. “Why are you looking at me like that?”

“Like what?” Lin Xiao Feng raised a brow.

She looked into Lin Xiao Feng’s eyes, wondering if this man was pretending as if he could not understand her question. An Nuan pursed her lips, not knowing how she should explain Lin Xiao Feng’s gaze.

“Never mind.” An Nuan quickly looked away.

Her reaction made Lin Xiao Feng chuckle. He did not know what was going through An Nuan’s mind. He just thought that his wife looked quite adorable at this moment.

It was dark outside but Lin Xiao Feng was still able to notice the shade of pink on An Nuan’s cheek.

Lin Xiao Feng wondered if An Nuan was beginning to pay attention to him.

“The atmosphere here is quite lively,” Lin Xiao Feng said.

An Nuan heaved a breath of relief when Lin Xiao Feng changed the subject instead of pressing her with his earlier question. “Hmm… It’s livelier than the park around our residential area.” An Nuan’s expression started to relax. “You haven’t been to the park for a while. The last time I walked past the area, the boys were asking me when you are going to accompany them to play basketball again.”

Lin Xiao Feng laughed.”Well, I should go and accompany them sooner or later.” He looked at An Nuan and continued, “Will you be coming with me?”

“You want me to come with you?”

“Hmm…” Lin Xiao Feng nodded. “I think I would perform well, teaching those boys to play basketball when you are around to watch.”

Her heart skipped a beat. “Why?”

A faint smile appeared on his lips. “An Nuan, I always want to do my best whenever you are around. Hmm… How do I say this?” His brow furrowed as he tried to compose what he wanted to say. “Let’s just say that your presence gives me a boost. I like it when you are around to watch me.”

An Nuan’s heart was beating fast again.

She quickly looked away from Lin Xiao Feng, worrying that he might notice the change in her.

“Is that so? Then, I’ll think about it.” An Nuan clenched her free hand tightly while reminding herself to calm down.

An Nuan glanced at the man beside her again.

She wondered when Lin Xiao Feng learned how to say things that would make her heart jump.

Clearly, she had planned not to be in a relationship again after Pei Zhi Yi.

When she talked to her mother and Ren Di, An Nuan told them that she did not know how she should answer Ln Xiao Feng as she was not looking forward to the relationship.

Then, why would her heartbeat go crazy whenever Lin Xiao Feng looked at her or said something to her?

An Nuan figured that there was something wrong with herself.

The couple continued to walk around the square.

While looking around at the people around them, An Nuan’s eyes stopped at a man with a cart of colorful balloons not too far away from where they were standing.

It was interesting to see the man twisting the balloons. After a while, the straight balloon turned to a sword and the man handed it over to the young boy standing next to him. The boy’s father paid for the balloon and they left happily.

Lin Xiao Feng noticed that An Nuan had been staring at the balloon seller for a while.

Seeing that the father and child had left, Lin Xiao Feng walked to the cart with An Nuan.

An Nuan looked at Lin Xiao Feng in puzzlement when he suddenly stopped in front of the stall.

“What are you doing?” An Nuan asked.

“I see that you are interested in the balloon. An Nuan, would you like one as well?”

His question made An Nuan laugh. “I’m not a child.”

The balloon seller happened to hear An Nuan’s words and explained, “Miss, these balloons are not just for children. You see, there are a lot of shapes as well. A lot of boyfriends stopped by my stall to buy some for their girlfriends.” He turned to Lin Xiao Feng and smiled. “Brother, why don’t you buy one for your girlfriend.”

An Nuan looked at the smile on the seller’s face and realized that this man had misunderstood their relationship.

Meanwhile, Lin Xiao Feng seemed to be in a good mood. After looking around, he finally pointed at a shape that he liked.

The seller took the balloons from his cart and handed them over to Lin Xiao Feng.

“For you.” Lin Xiao Feng placed the balloon into An Nuan’s arm before he made his payment.

An Nuan stared at the flowers in her hand with a dazed look on her face. Once they had walked farther from the balloon cart, An Nuan turned to Lin Xiao Feng and asked, “You don’t have to buy this. The balloons will not last long.”

“An Nuan.” Lin Xiao Feng stopped on his track and faced her. “Are the balloons pretty?”

She glanced at the balloons again and nodded. “Pretty.”

“Do you like it?”

An Nuan hesitated. It would be a lie to say that she did not like it. “I like it.”

“Then, that’s enough.” Lin Xiao Feng chuckled. “As long as you like it, I don’t mind buying it for you. If the balloons popped, I can always get you a new one.”

An Nuan wanted to say that Lin Xiao Feng was throwing away his money.

“Besides,” Lin Xiao Feng continued. “How can it be no flowers when we are on a date?”

Her heart was beating faster again.

So, this was really a date?
