Chapter 185: How is Working for Mr. Lin?

In the next few days, Assistant Lu Zheng would come to his boss’s house to help his boss’s wife with getting up the company properly.

Looking at the documents provided by the boss’s wife, Lu Zheng could tell that she was not serious about the company in the beginning.

Assistant Lu’s guess was not wrong. After all, the only reason An Nuan went back to designing jewelry was to get her mind off her relationship with Pei Zhi Yi.

She had free time and thought that going back to designing would help her occupy her time.

When she started, she did not imagine that this business would go big. Unexpectedly, her meeting with Ye Qing Xin changed everything. The jewelry that she sent to Ye Qing Xin received good feedback.

An Nuan finally decided that she should be serious about this business.

Now, she needed Assistant Lu’s help to set up her company.

To avoid any rumors or misunderstandings, An Nuan set up a small office in the living room. With Auntie Yu around, the two began to work together.

Assistant Lu Zheng thought that this new arrangement to work with his boss’s wife was not that bad.

His work was not as difficult as working with Lin Xiao Feng. His boss’s wife was less strict with him.

Assistant Lu also gets free meals while working at the house.

The most important thing was that he would get extra money by working for his boss’s wife for a few weeks.

When he started, his boss told him that he would be receiving his salary as usual. Meanwhile, he should also accept the money that the missus was going to pay him as his salary.

His boss said he should consider that money as his bonus.

Lu Zheng could only accept the extra money happily while working hard for the couple.

“Mrs. Lin, take a look at this.”

An Nuan raised her head upon hearing the young man’s voice. He looked at the documents in Lu Zheng’s hand and the two of them began to discuss a few things.

Just then, Auntie Yu walked into the room while carrying a tray of refreshments. Seeing An Nuan and Assistant Lu working so hard made her smile. Auntie Yu placed the tray on the table while being careful not to touch any of the documents on it.

“Mrs. Lin, Assistant Lu,” Auntie Yu called. “You both have worked hard enough. Have some tea and snacks while you’re at it.”

An Nuan raised her head. Seeing the plate of sandwiches and cakes made her hungry. “Assistant Lu, let’s take a break for a while,” An Nuan said. She reached for the cup of tea and placed it before the assistant.

“Thank you.” Assistant Lu took a sip from his tea and looked up only to see An Nuan looking at him.

“Assistant Lu.” An Nuan spoke before the assistant could say a word. “Let’s chat for a bit.”

Lu Zheng looked worried. “Mrs. Lin, what do you want to chat about?”

An Nuan flashed an assuring smile. “It’s nothing much. I just thought that we hadn’t talked about anything other than work recently. Assistant Lu, I am just curious about you.”

“What do you want to know?”

An Nuan placed her cup of tea back on the plate. “Assistant Lu, how long have you worked for my husband?”

Assistant Lu began to relax once he knew that An Nuan probably wanted to know much about Lin Xiao Feng.

“Hmm… This year should be my second year working for Mr. Lin,” Lu Zheng said.

An Nuan looked surprised. “It’s not that long. You look young. How did you come to work for him?”

“I met Mr. Lin during my study. He came to my university to give a talk.” A smile curled on his lips as he recalled his meeting with his boss. “I went to look for him backstage as I had a few more questions for me. We talked for a bit. Later, we met again when I came for an interview at the company. I did not get the job I came to interview for but Mr. Lin offered me the position as his assistant.”

An Nuan smiled as she listened to the assistant talking about her husband. As she looked at the assistant, An Nuan could see the hint of admiration in the man’s eyes.

She was suddenly curious to know about Lin Xiao Feng while he was at work.

“How is working for Mr. Lin? Is he a good boss at the office?” An Nuan asked.

Assistant Lu was surprised by An Nuan’s question.

“Don’t worry. I won’t tell him what you said. I was just curious about my husband while he was at work.” An Nuan heaved a sigh. “I have been to his office once but haven’t really gotten the chance to watch him while he was at work.”

Assistant Lu pursed his lips as he thought of An Nuan’s words.

He figured that the Lin couple were newlyweds and it wasn’t strange if An Nuan was curious about her husband at work.

“Mrs. Lin, your husband is a good boss,” Assistant Lu said. “He might seem as someone cold and serious at the beginning. But after staying with him for a while, I think Mr. Lin is different from my first impression.”

The two of them continued to talk about Lin Xiao Feng for a while.

Seeing that An Nuan was genuinely curious about his boss, Assistant Lu decided to tell her a few interesting stories about him.

An Nuan found that it was interesting to hear about Lin Xiao Feng from another person.

Lin Xiao Feng at work was different from what she had thought.

He was always so serious.

An Nuan would probably cry if she was to work under Lin Xiao Feng.

This made An Nuan look up at Assistant Lu a little more.

The ringing from her phone stopped their conversation.
