Chapter 186: Horror Movie

“Hey,” Han Yue Xiu greeted when An Nuan hopped into her car. She glanced at the building beside them and smiled. “Your house looked big. The community area looked nice too.”

“It’s not bad.” An Nuan smiled. “Would you like to come in?”

“Maybe next time.” Han Yue Xiu had an apologetic look on her face. “We still have a movie to catch.”

An Nuan buckled her seatbelt and Han Yue Xiu sped towards the cinema.

“Nuan Nuan, thank you for coming with me.” Han Yue Xiu glanced at An Nuan before focusing on her driving again. “I have been wanting to see this movie for a while.”

“It’s alright. I need time to go out and relax as well,” An Nuan said. Meanwhile, she took out her phone to text Lin Xiao Feng to tell him she had gone out with Han Yue Xiu to watch a movie.

“I could watch it with my husband but that guy complained a lot.” Han Yue Xiu heaved a sigh.

She was a horror movie fan.

While watching a movie, her husband, Song Yi, liked to question every protagonist’s decision, making the movie less thrilling.

If she had a choice, Han Yue Xiu would prefer not to watch it with her husband.

An Nuan laughed. Then, she recalled the movie that Han Yue Xiu had asked her to watch. “Right. Are we watching a horror movie?”

“Hmm…” The light in Han Yue Xiu’s eyes lit up. She got happier as she thought about the movie they would watch. “I heard that there were a lot of positive reviews about this movie. It might be a horror movie, but a lot of people said that it was quite funny.”

“A horror comedy?”

Han Yue Xiu nodded. “That’s it.”

An Nuan used her phone to check the movie that Han Yue Xiu was talking about. A breath of relief escaped her after she read a few things about the movie.

At least the movie would not be too scary.

An Nuan was the kind of person who was scared of the dark and ghosts. However, she did not mind watching a horror movie once in a while as long as it was not too scary.

Once they reached the mall, Han Yue Xiu invited An Nuan to have dinner at a nearby cafe. They only headed to the cinema once they saw that it was almost showtime.

The girls brought some caramel popcorn and drinks before finding their seats in the hall.

Once the movie started, An Nuan leaned back in her seat and concentrated on the movie.

Two and a half hours later, the two walked out of the cinema hall with different expressions.

An Nuan was quiet while listening to Han Yue Xiu complaining about the ending. Once they reached a brighter space, An Nuan finally heaved a breath of relief.

She took out her phone to check on some notifications and saw that it was one in the morning.

An Nuan froze when she saw the time.

She knew that the movie was long. However, she did not expect that they would be coming out of the cinema this late.

Suddenly, a scene where the ghost would appear once the clock struck three reappeared in her mind.

A lot of the scenes in the movie were funny. However, some scenes were quite scary as well in An Nuan’s opinion. The scene where the ghost would appear was one of them.

Right now, it was already one in the morning.

By the time she gets home and ready for bed… An Nuan did not think that she would be able to sleep soundly.

“Nuan Nuan, let’s go.”

An Nuan snapped out of her thoughts upon hearing Han Yue Xiu’s voice. “Hmm…”

By this time, An Nuan was glad that she did not drive to the mall. She would probably get too scared to drive home alone.

The traffic was smooth at this time. It did not take them too long to reach An Nuan’s place.

Han Yue Xiu watched An Nuan alighted from her car and smiled. “Nuan Nuan, thanks again for accompanying me today. Next time, let’s spend more time together.”

“Alright.” An Nuan laughed. “But Yue Xiu, will it be okay for you to drive home alone?”

“It will be fine.” Han Yue Xiu waved her hand. “My place isn’t that far from yours.”

An Nuan hesitated. “Then, you have to text me once you reach home. Otherwise, I cannot be at ease.”

A woman driving home alone at this time… If something happened to Han Yue Xiu at this time, An Nuan would blame herself for it.

“Mhm… I understand.” Han Yue Xiu nodded. “Nuan Nuan, it’s getting late. You should go in first.”

After exchanging a few more words, An Nuan walked into the house while Han Yue Xiu drove away.

Now that she was alone, An Nuan could not help but recall a few scenes from the movie she watched with Han Yue Xiu earlier.

She pushed the door open and heaved in relief when she saw that the living room was bright.

Fortunately, Lin Xiao Feng had left the lights on for her.

“You’re back.”

“Ah!” An Nuan yelped when she heard the voice coming from the dining area. She jumped back until her body was against the wall and placed a hand on her heart.

“An Nuan? Are you alright?”

An Nuan raised her head up and finally saw Lin Xiao Feng standing not too far away from her. He had a mug in his hand while looking at her worriedly.

“You scared me.” An Nuan inhaled a deep breath to calm down. “I thought that there was no one here.”

Lin Xiao Feng placed his mug on the table and walked over to An Nuan’s side. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you.”

“What are you doing here? I thought you should be sleeping by now.”

“I was waiting for you,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “I can’t be at ease until I know that you are safe at home.”
