Lin Xiao Feng was stunned when he felt An Nuan’s arms wrapped around his waist. Suddenly, he did not know what he should say or done. An Nuan ran off to his room at this time making his thoughts run wild.

An Nuan was the one who hugged him. She could not say that he was the one who took advantage of her, right?

However, that feeling quickly disappeared when Lin Xiao Feng noticed that something was wrong with his wife.

“An Nuan?” Lin Xiao Feng pulled away to look at her face. His brow furrowed when he noticed that An Nuan was trembling. “What’s wrong with you?”

“Lin Xiao Feng.” Her voice shook. An Nuan held the front of Lin Xiao Feng’s shirt tightly. The warmth from his body finally told her that she was safe. “There’s a ghost.”

Lin Xiao Feng froze. He wondered if his sleepiness had not disappeared. Otherwise, why would he hear An Nuan say anything about a ghost?

“What?” Lin Xiao Feng asked.

“There’s a ghost.” An Nuan pointed in the direction of her room. “In my bathroom.”

His brow frowned at the thought that there was a ghost lurking somewhere in An Nuan’s bathroom.

Lin Xiao Feng wanted to assure An Nuan that there was no such thing as a ghost in this world. However, he did not want to invalidate her feelings or thoughts.

First, he needed to listen to what An Nuan had to say.

He reached to give her head a pat. “Don’t be afraid. An Nuan, just tell me what happened.” He bent down just so he could look into her eyes. “Take a deep breath. Relax. I’m here.”

An Nuan followed Lin Xiao Feng’s instruction and inhaled a deep breath. Looking at him made her calm. “That… I was in the bathroom earlier when I heard a noise.” Her voice was shaky. “Then, I saw something in the corner of my bathroom. It looked like something. A shadow.” An Nuan shook her head as she tried to remember what she had seen earlier.

She was too frightened and could not see clearly what she was seeing.

The moment she heard the strange sound and saw the strange movement, An Nuan just wanted to get away.

“Alright. I’ll go and check it out,” Lin Xiao Feng announced. “Do you want to stay here or come with me?”

An Nuan held Lin Xiao Feng’s arm tightly. “No. I’ll come with you.” She did not dare to stay alone. Who knows if the ghost would appear around her again once Lin Xiao Feng was not around?

“Then, hold on me tightly.”

An Nuan nodded.

The couple walked to An Nuan’s bedroom again with Lin Xiao Feng at the front and An Nuan holding his hand tightly. They stood at the door and An Nuan pointed towards the bathroom.

“It’s in there.”

Lin Xiao Feng walked to the bathroom cautiously. Just as he was about to peek into the bathroom, An Nuan tugged at his arm again, making him turn to her.

“Lin Xiao Feng, be careful.”

An Nuan was staring back at him with her teary eyes. The worried look on An Nuan’s face almost made him smile. Knowing that An Nuan was worried for him put him in a better mood.

Lin Xiao Feng nodded before turning to the bathroom again.

The door creaked as he pushed it slowly.

He swept his eyes around the bathroom but could not find anything. “There’s nothing in here. An Nuan, tell me what did you see earlier.”

An Nuan peeked into the bathroom anxiously. A breath of relief escaped her lips when she could not see anything scary in there. “It’s in there.” She pointed at the corner where she had seen the creature earlier. “I saw something moving over there.”

Lin Xiao Feng looked in the direction where An Nuan was pointing. He walked over to check if he could find anything.

Suddenly, something crawled out from the corner.

“Ah!” An Nuan shouted. Her grip on Lin Xiao Feng’s arm was tighter. Surely, it was going to leave a mark tomorrow.

Lin Xiao Feng tensed. He narrowed his eyes and finally calmed down when he saw the creature. “Relax.” Lin Xiao Feng turned to hug An Nuan so that she would calm down. “An Nuan, it”s nothing. It was just a cockroach.”

Her heart was still beating fast.

An Nuan stared at Lin Xiao Feng for a while, wondering if her ears were playing tricks on her.

She looked at the corner again and finally saw the creature.

As if knowing that An Nuan was looking at it, the cockroach crawled over.

“Ah!” An Nuan screamed again and hid behind Lin Xiao Feng. “Lin Xiao Feng, take it away!” Afraid that the cockroach would come for her, An Nuan ran out.

Lin Xiao Feng was amused to see An Nuan being afraid of the cockroach. He had never imagined that An Nuan would be this scared of a cockroach.

“Hmm…” Lin Xiao Feng nodded. “It’s dead. I flushed it down the toilet bowl. An Nuan, you don’t have to worry about it.”

“Really?” An Nuan looked unconvinced.

“I won’t lie to you.” He took her hand, pulling her off the sofa. “An Nuan, you’re safe now.”
