When An Nuan woke up the next day, the sun had risen up high and Lin Xiao Feng was no longer sleeping on the sofa.

She stared at the spot where Lin Xiao Feng had slept last night and wondered when he leave her bedroom.

The thought of Lin Xiao Feng going to his office with a dark circle under his eyes made An Nuan feel guiltier, especially knowing that Lin Xiao Feng probably did not get enough sleep because of her.

Thinking of how she had run off to find Lin Xiao Feng’s room last night embarrassed her.

An Nuan wondered if she could move to another planet.

She did not know how else she was going to face Lin Xiao Feng after this.

An Nuan covered her face with the pillow and started to scream to vent.

She reminded herself that she should not go out late and let Lin Xiao Feng wait for her.

Once she began to calm down, An Nuan alighted from her bed and headed to the bathroom. As she passed the sofa, An Nuan finally saw a neon-colored sticky note on the pillow that Lin Xiao Feng used yesterday.

She picked it up and smiled when she saw his message.

“Wake up? I told Assistant Lu that he did not have to come over in the morning. Rest well. You can text him when you are ready.”

A warm and fluffy feeling spread all through her body at the thought that Lin Xiao Feng had made an arrangement just for her.

She woke up quite late as she was unable to sleep last night.

Lin Xiao Feng wanted to let her rest and told Assistant Lu not to disturb her.

If Lin Xiao Feng did not say anything to Assistant Lu, the man would probably come over as usual and have to wait for her in the living room doing nothing.

Then, she would feel guilty towards Assistant Lu for wasting his time when he was already busy with a lot of things.

Assistant Lu only came to the residence after lunch.

After looking for a while, An Nuan finally chose a few candidates that she thought she could work with.

The next thing they were going to do was to call the candidates for an interview.

However, since they did not have a proper office, Assistant Lu suggested that they rent an office space for a few hours.

The two of them were looking at a few office spaces for rent when Assistant Lu’s phone rang.

Seeing that it was from the office, Assistant Lu excused himself to answer the phone call.

An Nuan sat on the sofa while looking at the shortlisted candidates. Once in a while, she would glance at Assistant Lu, wondering what happened at the office.

Lin Xiao Feng’s assistant was now with her.

She told him that Secretary Shi might like him and wondered how he felt for that woman.

Assistant Lu’s voice snapped An Nuan out of her trance. She looked up and saw that the assistant had returned after answering his phone call.

“You have been staring at the candidate for a long time,” Assistant Lu Zheng said. “You are interested in her?”

An Nuan looked at the paper in her hand and realized that she had been staring at it. “Mmm…” An Nuan forced a smile. “I think Miss Xiang isn’t bad. But we still have to interview her to find out if she is capable.”

Assistant Lu nodded. He sat on the sofa again, without suspecting anything.

An Nuan cleared her throat and peeked at the assistant cautiously. “Earlier, was it a call from the office? Something happened? Do you need to head back to the office soon?”

“It’s nothing. They were asking me to locate a document. I don’t have to return to the office soon,” Assistant Lu said. He browsed through the documents in front of him and mumbled, “But I guess, it would not be too bad to stop by the office after this.”

An Nuan looked up.

Assistant Lu might be talking to himself but An Nuan still heard what he said.
