Chapter 192: Taking the Initiative

“This place isn’t that bad,” An Nuan said as she looked around the place. “It’s closer to the train station. It’s quite convenient. The candidate will be able to come over to the interview using public transport.”

An Nuan continued to walk around the place and nodded in satisfaction.

The office was quite close to her office as well.

An Nuan wondered if she should consider renting an office around the area in the future.

After she has hired a few people, she will need a place in her office.

“I have decided.” An Nuan turned to look at Assistant Lu again. “Assistant Lu, let’s choose this place.”

“Mrs. Lin, are you not going to look at another place?” Assistant Lu consulted the tablet in his hand. “There are a couple more office spaces that are suitable for us to use.”

An Nuan glanced at her wristwatch.

Her brow furrowed as she recalled that it should not be too long before Lin Xiao Feng got off from work.

“I think this is fine.” An Nuan said to Assistant Lu. “I think, there is no need for us to look around.”

Assistant Lu nodded. Since his boss thought that they didn’t need to look around, then he would listen to her. “Then, I will talk to them and book this place.”

“Mhm… Then, Assistant Lu, I will be counting on you.” An Nuan then continued to look around the building while Assistant Lu went to talk to the building manager.

It did not take a long time before Assistant Lu returned to An Nuan’s side.

“Mrs. Lin,” Lu Zheng called. “I already booked the place and paid the deposit. We can come over and hold the interview next week.”

An Nuan inhaled a deep breath. She realized that there would be a lot of things for her to do before the interview.

The thought that she was going to become a boss to a few more staff was a little overwhelming. She had never imagined that this day would happen.

“Thank you, Assistant Lu.”

Lu Zheng flashed a smile before glancing at his wristwatch. “Mrs. Lin, if there is nothing else, I will send you back.”

An Nuan tightened her hand to a fist as she thought of what she had in plan. She inhaled another deep breath and looked at the assistant calmly. “Assistant Lu, are ou Ina hurry to head somewhere?”

Assistant Lu Zheng had an awkward smile on his face. “Mrs. Lin, if you don’t have any other instruction, I plan to head to the office and take a look if there’s anything I can do.”

“You’re going to Lin Xiao Feng’s side?”

Lu Zheng nodded.

An Nuan pretended to ponder over Lu Zheng’s words. “Then, why don’t I go with you?”

“Ah?” Assistant Lu looked surprised.

“You don’t have to turn around to drop me back to my place,” An Nuan said. “I’ll go with you. Coincidentally, it has been a while since I visited Lin Xiao Feng at his office.” An Nuan hesitated briefly. “Or… do you think I would be disturbing him at work?”

Assistant Lu thought about An Nuan’s words and finally smiled.

He had almost forgotten.

The Lin couple was still a newlywed couple. It would not be strange if An Nuan wanted to head to the office and give her husband a surprise. Assistant Lu figured that An Nuan probably wanted to pick up her husband at work.

“Of course, not,” Assistant Lu said. He imagined the surprised look on his boss’s face and chuckled. “Mrs. Lin, I think, your husband would be happy if you picked him up from the office.”

A faint blush appeared on An Nuan’s face.

The two left together and headed to Lin Xiao Feng’s office together.

Her heart jumped as they were nearing the office building.

She now worried that her impulse move would make Lin Xiao Feng upset.

An Nuan knew that Lin Xiao Feng had been indulging her. But coming to visit his workplace unannounced might make him unhappy. After all, this was the place where he worked.

This was the first time that An Nuan had taken the initiative to come closer to Lin Xiao Feng. She was a little anxious.

Was it too late for her to change her mind?

Maybe she should not make a decision on an impulse.

Before An Nuan could make her decision, Assistant Lu Zheng drove his car into the basement parking area. He pulled over at his usual spot. When he turned to An Nuan again, Lu Zheng noticed her strange expression.

“Mrs. Lin?” Lu Zheng called. “Are you alright?”

An Nuan snapped out of her thoughts and smiled. “I’m fine. I just had something in mind ” She looked out the window and realized that the car had already stopped.

“Then, let’s get going.”

An Nuan nodded.

The two alighted from the car before heading into the building together.

Assistant Lu Zheng used his pass card and pressed the button on the elevator that would lead them straight to their destination.

The number on the screen changed.

Perhaps the elevator was moving too fast. An Nuan felt her stomach turning.

Ding!

The elevator stopped.

An Nuan looked at the number again and realized that they were at Lin Xiao Feng’s level. Last time, Lin Xiao Feng had taken her to his office for a short visit and she happened to remember his officer’s level.

The door slid open.

An Nuan inhaled a deep breath to calm down before following Lu Zheng out of the elevator.

They had to walk past the work area before they could reach Lin Xiao Feng’s office.

The last time she visited the office, there was no one else around the place. But now, it was an office hour. The staff were still in their station, doing their task.

An Nuan noticed the staff’s inquiring gaze when they saw her.

However, no one seemed to stop Assistant Lu and talk to him. In fact, everyone lowered their head to concentrate on their work.

An Nuan glanced at Assistant Lu again.

This man might be young but it seemed that the staff feared him.

“Mrs. Lin, we are here.”

An Nuan raised her head and looked at the door in front of her. Then, Lu Zheng raised his hand and knocked on the door.
