Chapter 193: She was Rambling

“Come on in.”

Lin Xiao Feng’s voice was heard behind the door.

Assistant Lu exchanged a look with An Nuan before he finally pushed the door open.

An Nuan peeked into the room and saw Lin Xiao Feng sitting behind the desk. He did not look up. From the moment she entered the room, Lin Xiao Feng’s gaze was on the papers on his desk.

“Mr. Lin.” Lu Zheng called.

Hearing his voice, Lin Xiao Feng finally raised his head. His lips parted as if he wanted to say something. But then, the words he wanted to say seemed to be stuck in his throat when he saw An Nuan standing at his door.

Lin Xiao Feng stared at An Nuan for a long time without blinking. It was as if he was afraid that her figure would disappear the moment he blinked.

His stare was beginning to make An Nuan uncomfortable, especially when Assistant Lu was in the room with them.

“Lin Xiao Feng?” An Nuan called.

Lin Xiao Feng snapped out of his trance when he heard Lu Zheng’s voice. He glanced at his assistant before his attention went back to An Nuan. “You…”

An Nuan smiled.

Previously, she has been worried about coming to visit Lin Xiao Feng without warning. But now, looking at his reaction almost made her laugh. Lin Xiao Feng looked as if he had lost his words the moment he saw her.

An Nuan liked watching Lin Xiao Feng with that look on his face.

“I’m sorry,” An Nuan said as she stepped into the room. “I came over unannounced. I am not disturbing you while you are working, am I?”

“Of course, not.” A warm smile curled on his lips. “I’m glad that you are here.”

Assistant Lu Zheng cleared his throat, making the couple look at them. “I will leave you both to talk now.” He shifted his gaze to An Nuan. “Mrs. Lin, what would you like to drink?”

“Anything is fine.”

“I’ll come back with a few refreshments in a few minutes,” Lu Zheng said. Without waiting for the couple to answer, Lu Zheng closed the door behind them, leaving An Nuan and Lin Xiao Feng in the office alone.

Lin Xiao Feng stared at An Nuan for a brief second. Finally, he left his desk and walked over to her side. “Why did you come over? You did not tell me anything.”

An Nuan clenched her hand tightly. She also could not understand why she made an impulse decision to visit him at his office. If she had told him about his train of thought, Lin Xiao Feng would have definitely laughed at her.

“Assistant Lu took me to look at a rented office space,” An Nuan said. “He said, he was going back to the office afterward. I was worried that he had a lot of work. Instead of letting him send me back home, I asked him if I could come with him. After all, it’s almost time for you to get off from work, right?” An Nuan knew that she was rambling. Noticing Lin Xiao Feng’s intense gaze made her hesitate. “Or… are you busy?”

Lin Xiao Feng chuckled.

Seeing An Nuan in his office was a pleasant surprise.

He did not care what was the reason she showed up in his office. Seeing that she had taken the initiative to find him was enough to make him happy.

“I am busy,” Lin Xiao Feng admitted. The look in his eyes softened when he noticed her stiffened at his answer. “But An Nuan,” Lin Xiao Feng continued. He stopped in front of her and smiled. “I am glad that you are here.”

Her cheek felt a little warm.

Just looking at Lin Xiao Feng in front of her could make her heart beat fast. His words made her heart feel as if it was drenched in honey.

She wondered what it was about Lin Xiao Feng that made her feel this way.

“Can I take this as if you are here to pick me up from work?” Lin Xiao Feng asked.

An Nuan looked away to hide her face.

That was her intention but now that Lin Xiao Feng had pointed it up, An Nuan was suddenly embarrassed.

“You can think of it any way you like,” An Nuan mumbled.

She did not dare to look at Lin Xiao Feng, worried that he would know what was going on in her mind.

Her answer made Lin Xiao Feng laugh. “Come on.” Lin Xiao Feng reached to hold An Nuan’s hand. He pulled her to the sofa set and let her sit. “Sit down for a bit.”

An Nuan looked at the person in front of her. Now that she was face to face with Lin Xiao Feng, An Nuan finally noticed the dark circles under Lin Xiao Feng’s eyes.

She immediately recalled the event from last night.

An Nuan felt guilty again, knowing that he did not have enough sleep because of her.

“Alright. Tell me what is it about finding a rented office space,” Lin Xiao Feng said. He still remembered An Nuan’s words from earlier.

“You know that I am going to hire a few people for my company,” An Nuan said. “I’m going to hold an interview soon. Assistant Lu thinks that renting an office space to conduct the interview would make me appear professional.”

“Hmm…” Lin Xiao Feng nodded. “Assistant Lu is right. Which office space are you interested in? Let me help you to look at it.”

“I’ll show it to you later,” An Nuan said. “You said you were busy, Then, shouldn’t you go back and do your work? I won’t disturb you. I can sit here quietly.”

An Nuan thought that it would be better for Lin Xiao Feng to finish his work earlier and head home to rest.

“I still have a few more documents to look at,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “An Nuan, wait for me for a bit. Once I’m done, I’ll take you out for dinner before we can head home.”
