An Nuan sat on the sofa while Lin Xiao Feng focused on the documents on his desk. Since An Nuan had nothing else to do while waiting, she took out her phone and browsed through her social media.

A while ago, Assistant Lu came to the office to send some snacks and drinks for An Nuan.

The two friends chatted about their work for a bit.

“Nuan Nuan, maybe I should consider quitting my job and work for you instead.”

An Nuan laughed when she heard Ren Di’s words. “Are you sure? Ren Di, I would be happy if you could work with me.”

“Forget it. I can’t move to Capital City and stay with you,” Ren Di was quick to answer.

“Why not?”

“I think your husband will not be happy if I steal you away from him.”

An Nuan froze. She glanced at Lin Xiao Feng and heaved in relief when she saw that he was not paying attention to her. Her fingers hovered over her phone screen for a long time. An Nuan wanted to reply to Ren Di but found that she did not know what she should be saying.

Ren Di finally realized that something was off when An Nuan stayed in silence for a long time.

The two of them have been friends for a while.

“I am still here.”

“You did not reply for a long time,” Ren Di said. “I was worried that I was disturbing you while you were working.”

An Nuan pursed her lips. She tried to come up with a lot of reasons but Ren Di was quick to text her again.

“Nuan Nuan, this is suspicious.”

“What is?” An Nuan asked.

“You went quiet after I talked about your husband,” Ren Di said.

An Nuan suddenly realized that recently, Ren Di seemed to like addressing Lin Xiao Feng, her husband.

“What’s up?” Ren Di asked. “Nuan Nuan, don’t tell me that something happened between you and your husband.”

An Nuan could imagine that Ren Di was in the mood to gossip.

She thought about the scene with Lin Xiao Feng last night and how she was now in Lin Xiao Feng’s office.

“Alright. Don’t just stay silent. Nuan Nuan, I’m going to die from curiosity,” Ren Di sent another text.

An Nuan chuckled. After a brief hesitation, An Nuan sent another text to her friend. “Right now, I’m at Lin Xiao Feng’s office.”

“Oh?” Ren Di’s reply came a second after An Nuan pressed the send button.

An Nuan could almost imagine Ren Di’s expression if she was in front of her now.

“Nuan Nuan, what are you doing at his office? Site visit?”

“Don’t speak nonsense. This is a coincidence.” An Nuan then told Ren Di the same excuse she had told Lin Xiao Feng. She was looking at some office with Assistant Lu and decided to come over.

An Nuan could sense that Ren Di was disappointed by her answer. The realization made An Nuan chuckle. “Why do you sound disappointed?”

Ren Di paused briefly. “Okay. I have something to confess.”

“What?” An Nuan wondered where this conversation would lead.

An Nuan stared at her phone screen for a long time. Why can’t she understand what Ren Di was talking about?

“It means, I have become a huge supporter of Mr. Lin,” Ren Di said. “Hearing how well he treated you recently made me want to support him a little bit. Nuan Nuan, as your best friend, I want you to live well. Whether you are going to fall in love again or not, I will still stand by your side. I will support you in whatever you are going to do.
