An Nuan grew speechless.

She had never thought that Ren Di would have such thoughts. An Nuan wondered if Ren Di was too bored in Y City. Perhaps, she could advise Ren Di to get a new hobby.

“Alright. Stop joking,” An Nuan said.

Ren Di laughed. “But really. Nuan Nuan, listening to what you said about Lin Xiao Feng made me think he is a good and adorable man.”

An Nuan glanced at Lin Xiao Feng again. Recently, she began to think that Lin Xiao Feng has become a little adorable.

She held the phone tighter. An Nuan wondered if she should confide in Ren Di about what she has been feeling recently.

Taking a deep breath, An Nuan began to type frantically.

On the other line, Ren Di was surprised when An Nuan sent texts to her without stopping. After reading them for a while, Ren Di’s expression began to change. The shock on her face turned to serious and finally, her expression turned soft.

Ren Di let An Nuan speak first.

While reading what An Nuan had to say, Ren Di tried to think of what she wanted to say to her friend.

Once the texts stopped coming in, Ren Di inhaled a deep breath and sent one sentence.

An Nuan stared at her phone screen with a dazed look on her face.

Her heart was beating fast.

She reread Ren Di’s words over and over again. Then, An Nuan felt as if her body was floating.

An Nuan reminded herself to calm down. But this time, her heartbeat refused to listen to her brain.

“Nuan Nuan, I think you have fallen for your husband.”

Ren Di’s words repeated in her head. Even if she closed her eyes, An Nuan could still see the sentence that Ren Di sent to her.

After a moment that felt like forever, An Nuan finally replied to Ren Di.

“Ren Di, you might be mistaken?”

The question mark at the end of An Nuan’s sentence made Ren Di chuckle. Before Ren Di could reply, An Nuan had already sent another text.

“It hasn’t been long since the last time I broke up with Pei Zhi Yi,” An Nuan said. “Don’t you think it’s impossible for me to fall for Lin Xiao Feng? It hasn’t been long since Lin Xiao Feng and I started to live together. If it was not for him marrying me, perhaps we don’t have much of a chance to interact.”

Once she pressed the send button, An Nuan stared at her phone anxiously. She wondered what Ren Di was going to say.

Lin Xiao Feng made her confused.

An Nuan realized that her heart would beat fast and her face would turn warm whenever Lin Xiao Feng was around. There was a small voice in her head, telling her that she had started to fall for this man.

It felt as if she was wasting her time with him.

An Nuan held her breath as she saw that Ren Di was typing.

Her body froze when she read Ren Di’s next words.

“But Nuan Nuan, there is no definite time frame for one to fall for another,” Ren Di said. “For some people, it might take weeks, months or even years. Some might take just within a heartbeat. Otherwise, there would be no such thing as love at first sight. I know that there are a lot of people who do not believe in love at first sight. But love at first sight can be as powerful. Don’t look down on it.”

An Nuan reread Ren Di’s words again and again.

This time, Ren Di did not send another text when An Nuan did not reply for a long time.

Ren Di also knew that An Nuan would need some time to figure out her feelings.

Knock! Knock!

The knocking on the door snapped An Nuan out of her thoughts.

“Come in,” Lin Xiao Feng said. He raised his head and looked at An Nuan. The corner of his lips turned to a smile and Lin Xiao Feng gave An Nuan a wink as their eyes met.

An Nuan quickly looked away, with her cheek gradually turning warmer.

She was still pondering over Ren Di’s words and Lin Xiao Feng’s winking was making her anxious again.

The door was pushed open from the outside and a familiar silhouette stepped into the room.

An Nuan raised her head in time just to see the smile on Secretary Shi stiffened.

Her heartbeat gradually calmed down when An Nuan saw Secretary Shi walk in.

Earlier today, An Nuan was wondering if Lin Xiao Feng and his secretary would be working closely together without Assistant Lu around.

An Nuan was relieved when she did not see Secretary Shi earlier. Unexpectedly, she would still meet her.

“Secretary Shi?” Lin Xiao Feng called when he saw his secretary standing at the door for a long time. “What are you doing, staring into space?” He pointed at the documents in Secretary Shi’s hand. “Aren’t you here to deliver those documents to me?”
