“You seem to be in a good mood.” An Nuan commented as they were alone in the elevator. Lin Xiao Feng still had dark circles under his eyes but he seemed happy.

“My wife came over to pick me up from work. How can I not be happy?”

An Nuan felt her face turn warmer and the heat gradually traveled to her ears and neck. Listening to Lin Xiao Feng referring to him as his wife made her shy.

She could not understand how Lin Xiao Feng could utter that word in her presence. If it was her… she would not be able to say it. Other than introducing Lin Xiao Feng’s identity to the people she met, An Nuan would not refer to Lin Xiao Feng as her husband in front of him.

“Who is your wife?” An Nuan mumbled.

Her voice was soft but Lin Xiao Feng was still able to hear it.

With a smile on his face, Lin Xiao Feng bent down slightly so that he would be able to look at An Nuan face to face. “An Nuan.”

“What?” An Nuan grew anxious when Lin Xiao Feng came closer.

An Nuan had the urge to run. However, they were in an elevator and Lin Xiao Feng was still holding her hand tightly.

“A few months ago, you and I obtained a wedding certificate together,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “That makes you my wife.”

Her heart was pounding fast.

An Nuan forced herself to look away before she would get swayed by Lin Xiao Feng.

She felt that Lin Xiao Feng seemed to like teasing her a lot recently.

He was no longer that cool and serious man she thought he was.

Meanwhile, Lin Xiao Feng thought that An Nuan’s reaction was too cute. The corner of his lips stretched further. Lin Xiao Feng was indeed in a good mood.

The elevator finally stopped at the basement parking area.

Lin Xiao Feng led An Nuan to his car and helped her with the door.

As Lin Xiao Feng drove away from the building, An Nuan habitually looked out the window. Her thoughts went back to the day they went to get a wedding certificate.

Back then, An Nuan did not think too much. She thought that it was the elders who wanted them to get a wedding certificate. But now that she knew about Lin Xiao Feng’s feelings, An Nuan wondered if Lin Xiao Feng was too anxious to bind her to his side as his wife.

“What do you want to eat?”

Lin Xiao Feng’s question snapped An Nuan out of her trance. She turned to Lin Xiao Feng and happened to meet his gaze.

“I heard about a new restaurant nearby. Should we go and try?”

An Nuan nodded. “Up to you. You know that I am not picky.”

The restaurant that Lin Xiao Feng mentioned was within ten minutes away. Fortunately, the couple arrived early. Once the server greeted them at the entrance, both An Nuan and Lin Xiao Feng chose the table near the window for privacy.

An Nuan browsed through the menu and decided on their chicken dishes while Lin Xiao Feng opted for steak.

Lin Xiao Feng pursed his lips when he heard An Nuan ordering some wine.

Once the server walked away, An Nuan raised her head and noticed that Lin Xiao Feng was staring at her. “What is it?

“Are you sure you can drink?” Lin Xiao Feng was reminded of the time he found An Nuan drinking with her friend, Liu Qing. She was so drunk that she started to make trouble for him.

Lin Xiao Feng did not mind his wife drinking. It was just that… he was worried about how he was going to look after An Nuan if she decided to make trouble. How was he going to look for his father-in-law if An Nuan wanted to complain about him again?

An Nuan guessed that Lin Xiao Feng was thinking about the day she went out for a drink with Liu Qing. “Actually, my tolerance isn’t that bad. I can still drink a few glasses. Last time… I was chatting and drinking with Liu Qing and forgot to control my alcohol intake. One or two glasses should be fine. It might help me to sleep.”

She was still scared to sleep in her room alone. However, An Nuan figured that as long as she went to bed earlier, she wouldn’t need Lin Xiao Feng to accompany her.

“How are you feeling now?”

“Hmm… I have stopped thinking about that scene from the movie,” An Nuan said. “I should be alright.”

“Just call me if you are scared,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “I will accompany you until you fall asleep.”

An Nuan’s cheek turned a shade redder. “We will see.”

Lin Xiao Feng finally realized that something was wrong with his suggestion. He hoped that An Nuan would not think that he was trying to take advantage to sleep in the same room as her.

He cleared his throat and composed himself. “Earlier, you mentioned renting a space for your office,” Lin Xiao Feng said. He figured that he should change the subject quickly.

“Mhm…” An Nuan nodded. “I figured that I am going to need a proper office once I have hired a few staff for my company. I can’t let everyone come to our place to work. They are going to need a proper desk and chair.”

“Have you decided on a location?”

An Nuan shook her head. “I haven’t looked around yet.”

“Then, why don’t you leave this matter to me?” Lin Xiao Feng suggested. “I happen to know a lot of good office areas. Just tell me your requirements.”

An Nuan quickly agreed.

Lin Xiao Feng worked with the city’s development. He should know which area would be suitable for her to set up her office.
