Chapter 207: Why are You Still a Crybaby?

An Nuan blinked once. Twice.

She still felt as if she was hallucinating. She knew that her parents were in S Country. They were avoiding a certain family from making trouble. But later, the couple decided to have a short vacation. Then, why would they appear in her house now?

An Nuan rubbed her eyes.

Her parents were still there.

“Nuan Nuan.” An Qi chuckled when he saw his daughter’s reaction.

Lin Xiao Feng said that he was going to surprise An Nuan with their presence. An Qi did not expect that his daughter’s reaction would be this cute. She was indeed surprised.

“Aren’t you going to hug us?” An Qi spread his arms and waited for his daughter to come over.

An Nuan stood up and rushed over to her parent’s side.

Her father pulled her into his embrace as she approached.

His warm hug and familiar scent finally assured An Nuan that she was not hallucinating.

An Nuan realized that she was missing her parents a lot. Talking to them on the phone and seeing their image was not enough.

Her eyes and nose turned sour.

Without realizing it, her tears streamed down her cheek, wetting her father’s shirt.

Now that her parents were in front of her, An Nuan realized how much she was longing to see them.

“Alright. Don’t cry,” Shi Xi said as she patted her daughter’s head softly. “Nuan Nuan, you’re going to make me cry as well.”

An Nuan wiped her tears with the back of her hand. The more that she tried to stop crying, the more her tears came out.

“You’re already this old.” Shi Xi heaved a sigh. “Why are you still a crybaby?”

An Nuan raised her head to look at her mother. She tried to say something but only her sobs came out.

“Okay, Mom won’t complain.” Shi Xi chuckled. “You can cry as much as you want. But first, Nuan Nuan, shouldn’t you let us in? It’s not good to cry in front of the entrance.”

It was only then that An Nuan realized that they were still at the entrance.

An Nuan inhaled a few deep breaths to calm down before releasing her father from her embrace. Holding her father’s hand, An Nuan dragged him into the living room where she sat earlier. An Nuan pulled a few tissue paper from the table and wiped her eyes and nose.

“Mom, Dad, when did you guys come over? Why didn’t you tell me?” Now that she was calmer, An Nuan finally managed to speak.

Shi Xi laughed. She pulled her daughter into her embrace and patted An Nuan on the shoulder a few times.

An Nuan felt like crying again. However, this time, she was finally able to suppress her tears.

“Didn’t I tell you that we would come to visit you on our way back from Country S?” Shi Xi said.

“You did. But Mom, you did not tell me when you’re coming to visit.” An Nuan’s voice was a bit hoarse from crying.

Shi Xi laughed again. She thought that her daughter’s reaction was quite amusing.

They all knew that An Nuan would be surprised. But they did not think that she would cry that much.

An Nuan looked up from her mother’s embrace and spotted Lin Xiao Feng who was standing at the side with a smile on his face.

With An Nuan’s parents visiting their home and An Nuan’s reaction, the couple had both forgotten about Lin Xiao Feng’s kiss on the forehead.

When An Nuan saw Lin Xiao Feng, the only thing on her mind was to ask him why he did not tell her anything.

“Lin Xiao Feng,” An Nuan called his name as she pulled away from her mother’s embrace. “You know that my parents are coming today. Why didn’t you tell me?”

A warm smile curled on Lin Xiao Feng’s face. “I wanted to surprise you. An Nuan, do you like this surprise?”

An Nuan nodded. But her eyes were staring at Lin Xiao Feng sharply. “If you told me, I could come and pick them up from the airport.”

“Alright. Don’t blame Xiao Feng,” Mother An said. “It was your dad and me who asked Xiao Feng to keep this a secret from you. If we did not surprise you, how could we see you crying like a young child?” Shi Xi tapped a finger on her daughter’s nose.

“Your mother is right,” An Qi said. “Xiao Feng knew that you were missing us a lot and organized this surprise. Nuan Nuan, don’t get mad. Come here. Tell me about your life in Capital City. Have you gotten used to it?”

The An couple had not seen their daughter after she moved to Capital City to follow her husband. Now that they were together, the couple had a lot of questions they wanted to ask.

An Nuan was about to answer when her mother spoke next.

“You told us the last time that you were setting up a proper company,” Shi Xi said. “Nuan Nuan, tell us about it.”

“Hey, my daughter is now an entrepreneur.” An Qi patted her daughter’s head softly. His gaze fell on the documents on the coffee table. An Qi could see that his daughter was working hard on her new company. “Nuan Nuan, we are very proud of you.”

An Nuan had an urge to cry again upon hearing her father’s words.

Lin Xiao Feng’s expression turned soft as he watched his wife and his in-laws.

He could see how much An Nuan missed her parents and how happy she was that they were coming to visit.

“Mom, Dad.” Lin Xiao Feng called. “I am going to send your luggage upstairs to your room. You can sit in the living room and catch up with An Nuan.”

An Qi shot a grateful smile to his son-in-law.

“I already booked a private room at a restaurant for us to have dinner with.” Lin Xiao Feng glanced at his wristwatch and continued, “Let’s go out in an hour.”
