Chapter 213: Looking to Rent an Office Space

After interviewing a few candidates to be her assistant, An Nuan finally decided to hire a woman called Xu Ruo Xi.

Xu Ruo Xi was two years older than An Nuan. She had good character and temperament.

Her qualifications and experiences were the reason An Nuan and Assistant Lu Zheng decided to hire her.

Xu Ruo Xi worked for a company a few years ago but decided to resign when she got pregnant. Now that her son was already in preschool, Xu Ruo Xi decided that it was time for her to return to work.

Assistant Lu stayed with An Nuan’s side, wanting to guide the new assistant. However, after interacting with her for a while, Assistant Lu felt that there were not many things for him to teach. He could be at ease to leave An Nuan with the new assistant.

With the new assistant around, the first task An Nuan gave the assistant was to hire a few more employees for her company.

From her last conversation with Ye Qing Xin, An Nuan figured that her company would only get busier in the near future.

Meanwhile, An Nuan with Assistant Lu Zheng was busy looking to rent an office space for her small company.

Assistant Lu Zheng found a few places for An Nuan to consider.

However, An Nuan was having a hard time choosing a suitable site.

The ones that Assistant Lu chose for her were all good. Each one of them followed her requirements. The differences between them were very little.

An Nuan was visiting the last site with Assistant Lu Zheng when her phone rang.

She pulled out her phone from her purse and smiled when she saw Lin Xiao Feng’s name on the screen.

“Mrs. Lin, I will talk to the agent first.” Assistant Lu smiled.

An Nuan nodded. She watched as the assistant left the room before picking up the phone call.

“Lin Xiao Feng?” An Nuan spoke as soon as the phone call was connected.

“Hmm…” His tone was soft. “Are you still looking at the offices with Assistant Lu?”

An Nuan glanced in the direction where Assistant Lu had left. “Hmm… This is the final one. Assistant Lu is asking a few questions to the agents. We should be done in a while.”

“Where are you?”

An Nuan reported her location to Lin Xiao Feng.

“Don’t leave yet. I’ll come over and find you.”

“Ah?” An Nuan could not hide her surprise.

Lin Xiao Feng chuckled. “Coincidentally, I am near your location. Just give me five minutes. I will be there shortly.”

“Lin Xiao Feng, are you really coming over?”

“Hmm… I should take a look at your office as well,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “Then, we can have dinner together. Ah, no. It is still early for us to have dinner. An Nuan, let’s go on a date.”

Lin Xiao Feng ended the phone call after saying a few words.

An Nuan stood in the center of the office while staring at her phone with a dazed look in her eyes. Then, a faint smile appeared on her lips. An Nuan could not deny that she was looking forward to Lin Xiao Feng’s arrival.

“Mrs. Lin?”

Assistant Lu’s voice snapped An Nuan out of her trance.

An Nuan met the assistant’s eyes and smiled.

“Mrs. Lin, would you like to look around?”

An Nuan nodded. She turned around and followed Assistant Lu to meet up with the agent. They went on a tour around the building when An Nuan’s phone buzzed.

Lin Xiao Feng had arrived at the building and was waiting for her downstairs.

After saying a few words with the agent, An Nuan and Assistant Lu left after promising that they would be in contact after some consideration.

“Mr. Lin.” Assistant Lu could not hide his surprise when he saw his boss at the entrance. “When did you get here?”

“Just now,” Lin Xiao Feng answered. His eyes were on his wife from the beginning. “Have you made your decision about which place you are planning to rent?”

“Not yet.” An Nuan shook her head. “The places that Assistant Lu showed were all good. I don’t know which one I should choose.”

“Then, tell me about the places. I’ll help you to make a decision.” Lin Xiao Feng finally shifted his eyes to his assistant. “Assistant Lu, if there’s nothing else, you can get off work now.”

Assistant Lu glanced at his boss before he finally understood what was going on. Now that his boss finally appeared, it was time for him to disappear.

“Then, Mr. Lin, Mrs. Lin, I will get going now.” Assistant Lu walked his boss to the car. He waited until his boss drove away before he finally turned around and left.

“How was the viewing? Are you interested in the office in the building?” Lin Xiao Feng asked as he drove into the main road.

“It looks alright,” An Nuan said. “The office is quite big and the rent isn’t that bad. But the building is slightly old.”

“You don’t like older buildings?”

An Nuan shook her head. “It’s not that. I am worried about the elevator. It would be troublesome if the management did not maintain it well.” She remembered the slight shake while they were going up. She thought that the elevator might drop.

“Then, what other options do you have?”

An Nuan told Lin Xiao Feng about the offices she visited and described what she like and did not like about them.

“Why don’t you consider The Maple?” Lin Xiao Feng said.

“Hmm?” An Nuan looked at Lin Xiao Feng inquiringly. “You think I should rent that place?” An Nuan thought about the building she visited earlier with Assistant Lu Zheng.

The place was not that bad. However, it was slightly far from home.

“Why did you suggest The Maple?”

Lin Xiao Feng glanced at An Nuan and smiled. “The cafe in the building made great coffee.”

An Nuan raised a brow. She did not expect that Lin Xiao Feng would suggest renting a place because of the coffee shop.”

“Moreover,” Lin Xiao Feng continued. “The place is quite close to my office.” He flashed a smile. “This way, I can come over and pick you up from work.”

An Nuan found that she had once again been mesmerized by Lin Xiao Feng’s smile.
