Chapter 236: A Plan to Meet

It was closer to midnight by the time they reached their hotel room.

An Nuan’s face was red as she had drunk a little bit more than usual while watching the fireflies with Lin Xiao Feng earlier. She was tipsy, but her condition was not as bad as the day Lin Xiao Feng found her drinking with her friend, Liu Qing.

The alcohol made her body softer.

An Nuan had to cling to Lin Xiao Feng for her to be able to walk straight.

Lin Xiao Feng stopped on his track and turned to his wife again. “How about I carry you back?”

“No. I can still walk.” An Nuan narrowed her eyes at Lin Xiao Feng. “Lin Xiao Feng, you clearly drank more than me. Why is it that you are still alright?”

Earlier, An Nuan planned to have another glass. But Lin Xiao Feng snatched the bottle from her and drank everything to prevent her from drinking more.

Lin Xiao Feng laughed. “I have a higher tolerance than you. Because of my work, I am required to meet many people and entertain them. There are a lot of occasions where drinking is required. If I can’t hold my drink, then I would get into trouble.”

An Nuan pondered over Lin Xiao Feng’s words and thought that they made sense. It was not easy for Lin Xiao Feng to get where he was now.

A thought came to her mind, making An Nuan lower her gaze. “Then, what about your assistant and secretary? Whenever you have to attend an occasion, would you bring them along?”

“Most of the time, Assistant Lu would come with me. My secretary will only take his place whenever Assistant Lu has another matter to attend to.”

For example, on the day An Nuan and Ren Di ran into Sun Jiao in Capital City, Secretary Shi accompanied him because he had sent Assistant Lu to deal with another matter.

An Nuan knew that there would be some circumstances in which Lin Xiao Feng had to bring his secretary along. But the thought of that secretary getting closer to Lin Xiao Feng made her unhappy. Moreover, An Nuan was aware that Secretary Shi liked her husband.

An Nuan wondered if Secretary Shi would take advantage of Lin Xiao Feng if he was drunk.

After returning to their suite, they both went to their separate rooms.

An Nuan took a shower before she lay on her bed.

Last night, she cramped onto the sofa in the living room with Lin Xiao Feng.

Tomorrow, they will head to Y City to attend Qi Zheng’s wedding banquet. It will be a long drive before they arrive. An Nuan thought that Lin Xiao Feng would need a proper rest as he needed to drive for hours.

Even if Lin Xiao Feng did not mind, An Nuan would want him to get a proper rest.

While lying on her bed, An Nuan texted her friend, Ren Di.

It has been a while since they met.

As she was going back to Y City, the two friends made a plan to meet.

Ren Di was curious to know about An Nuan’s wedding photoshoot.

Meanwhile, An Nuan planned to tell her friend about her relationship with Lin Xiao Feng when they met later.

An Nuan wondered how Ren Di was going to react after hearing the news. An Nuan could already picture her friend screaming in joy a few days later.

She should also talk to her mother about the new development.

Knock! Knock!

The knocking on the door startled An Nuan.

She put down her phone and went over to the door only to find that Lin Xiao Feng was standing in front of her.

Lin Xiao Feng had a helpless look on his face. “It’s my mother.” He waved his phone at An Nuan. “She wanted to talk to you.”

An Nuan was puzzled to hear that her mother-in-law was looking for her. She took the phone from Lin Xiao Feng and pressed it against her ear. “Mom?”

“An Nuan,” Song Luan’s cheerful voice was heard on the other line.

The two of them exchanged brief pleasantries before An Nuan spoke again. “Mom, you wanted to talk to me? Is there something?” An Nuan glanced at Lin Xiao Feng. She walked out of the room and sat on the sofa in the living room.

“It’s nothing,” Song Luan said. “Mom just wanted to talk to you. I was talking to Xiao Feng about your wedding photoshoot. Initially, I was against Xiao Feng’s decision to have your wedding photo in D Town but I can see that the town is such a nice place. Nuan Nuan, how is D Town? Are you enjoying your stay there?”

“Mhm… This town is quite peaceful and relaxing.”

They chatted about her wedding photoshoot as well as the scenery in D Town.

“It’s good that you are enjoying your stay over there,” Song Luan said. “I heard from your mother that you have been working hard for your company. Nuan Nuan, you should take it easier. If there’s anything, you should let Xiao Feng do it.”

A faint smile appeared on An Nuan’s lips.

Even before she was married to Lin Xiao Feng, Song Luan had always treated her well.

“That’s right. Nuan Nuan, since you are coming back to Y City tomorrow, why don’t you look at the arrangement for the wedding?” Song Luan said. “Initially, Xiao Feng had volunteered to plan everything himself but Mom is not at ease to let him handle everything. He is a man. I doubt that Xiao Feng would be as meticulous as you.”

An Nuan glanced at Lin Xiao Feng again. Previously, she did not care about the wedding banquet. But now that her mother-in-law had mentioned it, An Nuan was curious to know what Lin Xiao Feng had planned.
