Chapter 240: I Have Some Experience

An Nuan walked out of the room with her nephew, An Yi Ran, when she noticed the helpers were carrying luggage to the guest room next to her bedroom. A trace of surprise appeared on her face when she recognized Lin Xiao Feng’s belongings. However, An Nuan was unable to figure out what was going on.

“Auntie Ling,” An Nuan called the helper. “That luggage… Why did you send them to the guest room?”

The middle-aged woman smiled. “Madam wanted me to send it here. I’m not sure about the details.”

An Nuan frowned. She went downstairs while listening to An Yi Ran’s chattery voice.

As she entered the dining room, An Nuan saw Lin Xiao Feng with her mother.

There were a few snacks on the table. Some of them were her favorites.

“Little Uncle!” An Yi Ran jogged towards Lin Xiao Feng with his short legs. The light in An Yi Ran’s eyes lit up the moment he saw Lin Xiao Feng.

“Hello,” Lin Xiao Feng patted the boy on his head. He always had a good relationship with An Nuan’s nephew.

“I haven’t seen you for a while,” An Yi Ran said.

“Sorry. I was a little busy and had no time to accompany you to play.”

“Then…” An Yi Ran looked at Lin Xiao Feng with expectation. “Little Uncle, you can accompany me later, right?”

An Nuan watched as Lin Xiao Feng chatted with her nephew and wondered about their close relationship. An Yi Ran was her nephew but it seemed that the little boy was closer to Lin Xiao Feng than her.

“Let’s not disturb him,” An Nuan said. “Yi Ran, if you want to play, Aunt will accompany you later.”

“It’s alright.” Lin Xiao Feng flashed a smile at his wife. “I can spend my time with him after this.”

An Nuan narrowed her eyes upon hearing Lin Xiao Feng’s answer.

Just then, she remembered seeing the helpers carrying Lin Xiao Feng’s luggage into the guest room.

“Lin Xiao Feng, just now, I saw the helpers carrying your luggage into the guest’s room,” An Nuan said.

“I asked him to stay for the night,” Shi Xi said.

An Nuan had a puzzled look on her face.

“Xiao Feng is the An family’s son-in-law but he has never stayed over,” Shi Xi said. “What’s wrong with him staying for a night or two? His family’s house is just next door. It’s not that different.”

“Mom, I didn’t say that there was anything wrong,” An Nuan said. “I was just curious.” She looked at Lin Xiao Feng again and planned to ask him about this matter when they were alone.

However, after accompanying her mother to chat, An Yi Ran pestered Lin Xiao Feng to play with him.

An Nuan watched them for a while and noticed that Lin Xiao Feng was quite good with kids.

She watched as Lin Xiao Feng helped An Yi Ran assemble the train model before crouching next to him.

Noticing her gaze, Lin Xiao Feng turned to An Nuan and chuckled. “What is it?”

An Nuan glanced at her nephew. Seeing that the little boy was busy finding some parts of the train track, An Nuan decided to talk to Lin Xiao Feng. “When did you get so close with Yi Ran?”

“What do you mean? I am always close to your nephew.”

An Nuan shot a look at Lin Xiao Feng, asking him to explain.

“In the past, I often found him playing in the yard alone, whenever I returned home,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “I came and talked to him a few times and later, we got closer.”

An Nuan looked surprised. She did not know that her nephew would often play alone in the past.

Lin Xiao Feng remembered the first time he found the little boy playing alone.

On that day, Pei Zhi Yi was visiting An Nuan’s parents.

An Yi Ran crouched next to a big tree alone.

Curious to know what was going on, Lin Xiao Feng walked over to the little boy and saw him observing some ants.

The two chatted for a bit.

Knowing that Pei Zhi Yi was visiting, Lin Xiao Feng tried to find out more about him through the little boy.

Surprisingly, An Yi Ran told him that he did not like that man.

“Little Uncle, look at this.” An Yi Ran showed Lin Xiao Feng the items in his hand. “Is this the part you want?”

Lin Xiao Feng looked at the track part and nodded. “This is the one. But we are going to need another piece.”

“I will look for it.” An Yi Ran nodded.

Once the little boy turned around, An Nuan looked at Lin Xiao Feng again. “You are quite good with kids.”

Her words made him laugh. “You can say that I have some experience.”

An Nuan raised a brow, motioning for Lin Xiao Feng to continue.

“When Yu Han had his daughter, each of us had our chance to babysit her.”

An Nuan remembered Zhang Yu Han’s daughter. The little girl was adorable and lively. Truly different from her serious father.

“Later, when Jun Hao had his triplets, we would look after his sons as well,” Lin Xiao Feng continued.

Wei Jun Hao was very clueless as a first-time father. Fortunately, his aunt and mother-in-law took turns to help him. Then, everyone would come over to watch over Wei Jun Hao’s triplets as well.

Looking after the triplets was very tiring.

Once a baby started to cry, the other two would join in as well.

An Nuan’s mind started to wander.

She began to think of Lin Xiao Feng as a father. Realizing that her mind was going astray, An Nuan shook off that thought from her mind and tried to think of something else.

“That’s right. Lin Xiao Feng, why did my mother ask you to stay for a night?” An Nuan asked. She had to whisper as she was afraid that someone might hear their conversation.

“I’m not sure.” Lin Xiao Feng watched An Nuan for a bit. “Your mother didn’t know that we’re together?”

“I haven’t told her,” An Nuan said. “I’m planning to tell her later. I will find a chance to talk to her.” The thought of telling her mother about her relationship with Lin Xiao Feng made her anxious.
