Chapter 244: The Pei Family was Too Busy

An Nuan went to the bathroom and looked at her reflection in the mirror.

Her face reddened. Her eyes were teary and moist. Her hair was slightly messy. Most of all, her lips were red and swollen. She looked as if she had been thoroughly kissed.

An Nuan was screaming internally at her own reflection.

She did not expect that she would come out of Lin Xiao Feng’s room with this look on her face.

So, that was why her nephew was looking at her strangely.

An Nuan turned on the tap and splashed the water on her face.

The cold water helped to reduce the redness on her face.

Lin Xiao Feng said they were going to visit his place. She could not show up looking disheveled like this.

An Nuan rushed off to change her clothes and put on a light makeup on her face.

Her lips were still swollen. But her makeup should be able to mask the swell on her lips.

Once she had changed her clothes, An Nuan came out of her room again. She glanced at Lin Xiao Feng’s door, wondering if he was still inside.

Just now, he told her that he was going to wait for her downstairs, right?

As she headed downstairs, An Nuan could hear Lin Xiao Feng chatting with someone. She followed the voice and found Lin Xiao Feng and her elder brother in the room.

As soon as she entered the living room, their conversation stopped immediately.

“Nuan Nuan.”

Her elder brother saw her first as he was facing her.

“Elder Brother, when did you get home?”

“Just now.” An Jian smiled. He gave his younger sister a lookover and saw that she was dressed up. “You’re going out?”

“Un.” An Nuan nodded. “Lin Xiao Feng and I are going next door.”

“Then, I won’t hold you back.” An Jian stood up. “I’m sure Aunt Song is waiting for you both to visit her.”

An Jian patted Lin Xiao Feng’s shoulder before he left, leaving An Nuan and Lin Xiao Feng in the living room.

Her brow furrowed as An Nuan watched her elder brother leave.

It has been a while since they last saw each other. Why would her elder brother leave so soon?

But then, An Nuan recalled something about Lin Xiao Feng’s conversation with her elder brother.

The two men were speaking in a low voice. However, An Nuan could still hear bits of their conversation. If she was not mistaken, her elder brother mentioned the Pei family.

An Nuan wondered if the Pei family had been disturbing her family again.

“Are you ready?” Lin Xiao Feng asked as he walked over to An Nuan’s side.

An Nuan snapped out of her trance when she heard Lin Xiao Feng’s voice.

She raised her head to meet his eyes but suddenly, the scene where they were kissing in the guest’s room replayed in her mind.

Looking at the usual aloof look on his face made An Nuan wonder if the person who had kissed her passionately earlier was the same as the one standing in front of her.

“Let’s go.” An Nuan walked over to the door with Lin Xiao Feng trailing behind her.

As they stepped out of the house, Lin Xiao Feng held An Nuan’s hand tightly.

An Nuan glanced at the person beside her and saw him smiling happily. His good mood affected her as well. An Nuan then found herself smiling with Lin Xiao Feng as well.

“What did you and my elder brother talk about earlier?” An Nuan asked. She kept her eyes on Lin Xiao Feng, wanting to observe his reaction. “I heard you guys mentioned the Pei family. Lin Xiao Feng, tell me the truth.” She stopped on her track and stared at Lin Xiao Feng in the eyes. “Did his family come and disturb my family again?”

The court gave Pei Zhi Yi and his family a restraining order. But, An Nuan wondered if they would obey the court.

Lin Xiao Feng had a faint smile on his face. He stretched his hand to pat An Nuan’s head. “Hmm… Your elder brother and I were talking about the Pei family. But it is not what you think. An Nuan, you don’t have to worry. The Pei family won’t be disturbing you and your family.”

An Nuan raised a brow. She did not think that the Pei family would sit back and stop causing trouble for her.

“Recently, their family received a project in T Country.”

An Nuan looked surprised.

But, how do the project and Pei Zhi Yi stop disturbing her related?

“You should know that the Pei’s business was not going too well after your family decided to end their collaboration with them,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “This project in T Country is big enough to help their company to rise again. Right now, that person is probably in T Country, trying to negotiate with their new partner.”

An Nuan noticed that Lin Xiao Feng continued to address Pei Zhi Yi as ‘that person’.

A faint smile appeared on her face.

An Nuan thought that Lin Xiao Feng was adorable.

“Right now, they could not afford to make any mistake,” Lin Xiao Feng continued. “They won’t come and trouble you or your family as their business is on the line.”

The Pei family was too busy.

If they get into trouble for violating the restraining order, they might lose the business cooperation. The Pei family was not willing to take the risk.

The money they would get from the cooperation was enough to make them stop disturbing An Nuan and her family.

An Nuan was relieved to hear that Pei Zhi Yi and his family would not be disturbing her. But…

An Nuan narrowed her eyes at Lin Xiao Feng. “Lin Xiao Feng, did you have anything to do with this?”

Lin Xiao Feng laughed. “An Nuan, I would do anything for them to stop disturbing you and your family.”

“You are too kind.” An Nuan snorted.

Lin Xiao Feng’s words made her happy. But An Nuan was not too happy to hear that the Pei family would gain something from this.

He was certainly lucky.

Of course, Lin Xiao Feng would not tell An Nuan that the Pei business cooperation would not be as easy as it might sound.

Lin Xiao Feng was not that kind. Especially to the person who had hurt the person he loved.
