Chapter 256: Looking Prettier

An Nuan tried not to think about her mentor again while she had her lunch with Lin Xiao Feng.

As if wanting to cheer her up, Lin Xiao Feng took An Nuan on a date at the mall and bought everything that she thought look nice.

In the end, An Nuan could only stare back at Lin Xiao Feng speechlessly.

She did not know how much money Lin Xiao Feng had in his bank account. However, she absolutely cannot let him spend his money carelessly on her.

Seeing that it was almost time for many to get off from work, Lin Xiao Feng sent An Nuan to Ren Di’s company.

The two girls had not seen each other for a while and planned to catch up.

Lin Xiao Feng knew that Ren Di was An Nuan’s best friend while they were studying at the university. They became closer when they found out that they were from the same city.

“I’ll come over and pick you up later?” Lin Xiao Feng said as he was parked outside Ren Di’s office.

“It’s alright. I’ll let Ren Di send me back later.” An Nuan picked up her bag before turning to Lin Xiao Feng again. “You don’t have to wait for me.”

“Hmm…” Lin Xiao Feng still wanted to stay with his wife.

Unfortunately for him, he could not join as the girls talked.

“Well, I’m going to miss you.”

An Nuan was startled to hear Lin Xiao Feng’s words. A few seconds later, An Nuan started to laugh.

She was going to meet her friend for a few hours and someone was telling her that he was going to miss her.

An Nuan thought that Lin Xiao Feng was funny and cute.

“Un.” The smile on An Nuan’s face widened. “I’m going to miss you as well.”

Lin Xiao Feng’s mood lightened. He leaned over to peck on An Nuan’s lips. “Call me if you have a drink. I will come over and pick you up.”

“Well, I know.” Seeing that Lin Xiao Feng was still staring at her, An Nuan stretched her hand and patted Lin Xiao Feng’s head. “Be good. I will see you at home. I won’t take too long. Ren Di still has to work tomorrow.”

After exchanging a few more words, An Nuan alighted from the car and headed to Ren Di’s office.

Her steps halted as she had almost reached the entrance.

An Nuan turned around and waved at Lin Xiao Feng.

Watching her turn around to look at him made Lin Xiao Feng happy. He waited until An Nuan walked into the office building before he finally drove off.

An Nuan waited for Ren Di in the lounge area.

Ten minutes later, An Nuan spotted her best friend walking over with a big smile on her face.

“Nuan Nuan!” Ren Di stopped on her track as she was a few steps away. She gave An Nuan a lookover, and a satisfied smile appeared on her lips. “Hey, you’re looking prettier than the last time I saw you.”

“Nonsense.” An Nuan chuckled. “Come here.” She tugged on Ren Di’s hand and hugged her friend.

She hasn’t seen Ren Di for a long time and was missing her best friend. Although they would talk to each other on the phone almost every day, the feeling was not the same as seeing each other face to face.

“Alright. Don’t cry. We are still at my company,” Ren Di pointed out. “I don’t want any rumors to start. They might think that I’m too fierce for making a pretty lady cry in the lounge after work.”

An Nuan took a step back and stared at Ren Di speechlessly.

Her reaction made Ren Di laugh.

“Come on.” Ren Di held An Nuan’s hand. “My car is in the basement.”

Ren Di led An Nuan to the basement parking area.

Once they both were seated in the car, Ren Di turned to An Nuan again and smiled. “Nuan Nuan, how are you doing?”

Previously, An Nuan moved to Capital City to escape her ex while starting a new life.

Ren Di hoped that An Nuan was happier as she was away from her ex.

“I’m fine. Ren Di, I think I am happier after moving to Capital City.”

She managed to avoid seeing the people she wanted to avoid. Then, unexpectedly, there was some development in her relationship with Lin Xiao Feng.

These days, An Nuan is really happy.

She no longer cries when she thinks about her ex again. Moreover, An Nuan was so busy setting up her company that she did not have time to think about unimportant people.

She made the right decision when she decided to move to Capital City.

Ren Di laughed. “Well, I can see that you are happier.” Her brow rose, and a teasing smile appeared on her lips. “Should I thank Mr. Lin for this change?”

A faint blush appeared on An Nuan’s face when Ren Di mentioned Lin Xiao Feng.

She tried to keep a calm expression and said, “Let’s not talk about this first. We will chat while we eat later. Ren Di, where are we going?”

Ren Di observed An Nuan’s expression and sighed.

An Nuan changed the subject very quickly. Ren Di could tell that things were going well between her friend and her husband.

This was good. She liked to see An Nuan this happy.

“I know a good place not too far away from here,” Ren Di said.

“I’m fine with anything,” An Nuan said. “But let’s not drink today. Lin Xiao Feng would worry if I drink.”

“Oh?” Ren Di flashed a teasing smile to her friend. “It seems that your relationship is getting better?”

“Don’t tease me.” An Nuan chuckled. “Lin Xiao Feng had once seen me while I was drinking too much. According to him, I was being unreasonable and was scolding him.”

Ren Di laughed. She had accompanied An Nuan to drink many times and was familiar with An Nuan’s drinking habit. “I can picture that scene happening. Mr. Lin must be very frustrated.”
