Chapter 268: Alone
Lin Xiao Feng felt that the spot where An Nuan poked him was too itchy.

He grabbed An Nuan’s finger and brought it closer to his lips. “Nuan Nuan, are you drunk?”

“I’m not.” She took a step back until her body collided against the wall. “I didn’t drink that much.” An Nuan quickly pulled her hand away from Lin Xiao Feng’s grasp. Something about the way Lin Xiao Feng was looking at her made her nervous.

An Nuan quickly tried to find a way to change the topic. “We should go back to the hall. The others would be looking for us.”

Lin Xiao Feng smiled, noticing the shy look on An Nuan’s face.

He then decided to stop teasing her.

After all, he was the one who would suffer the most if he continued to tease his wife.

Just like that, the couple returned to the hall again to join the party.

As time passed, the elders began to head back, leaving the youngsters to party.

Initially, An Nuan was not planning to drink that much. But after meeting a few of her classmates, she could not hold back from drinking a few more glasses.

Fortunately for her, with Lin Xiao Feng by her side, her classmates did not try to make things difficult.

“Lin Xiao Feng.” An Nuan stared at the man as he led her away from their classmates’ table. “I think I need to stop drinking too much.”

Lin Xiao Feng pursed his lips as he kept his eyes on his wife. “Are you feeling uncomfortable?”

“No. I’m fine.” An Nuan paused briefly before shaking her head. “Hmm… Maybe I need to lay down for a bit.”

Lin Xiao Feng heaved a sigh as he recalled how Liu Qing and the others tempted his wife into drinking a little more while he went away to chat with Qi Zheng’s elders.

When he returned for his wife, the person who said that she was going to have one glass of wine ended up drinking a few more glasses.

Fortunately, his wife was still sober.

“I will go and ask the hotel to prepare hungover soup for you,” Lin Xiao Feng said.

An Nuan waved her hand. “No. My stomach is bloated. I don’t want to drink anymore.”

Lin Xiao Feng kept his eyes on his wife. “Then, why don’t we go upstairs to rest?” He was planning to let An Nuan take some medicine while he was going to observe her condition.

If she was too drunk, then, he would let her sleep in the hotel room. Otherwise, they could return home.

“Alright.” An Nuan nodded. “I just want to lay down for a bit.”

Lin Xiao Feng wanted to support his wife to walk but An Nuan made it clear that she could still walk in a straight line.

Once they arrived at their room, Lin Xiao Feng helped An Nuan to sit on the sofa before he went to make a phone call to the receptionist and instructed them to prepare something for his wife.

When the phone call ended, Lin Xiao Feng turned around only to see that his wife was no longer on the sofa.

He looked around and finally heard the sound of water coming from the bathroom.

A few minutes later, An Nuan walked out of the bathroom with droplets of water on her face.

“Lin Xiao Feng.” An Nuan frowned. “I think I need to lie down for a while.”

“Mhm… Go ahead. It will take awhile before the kitchen would prepare something for you,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “Go ahead and lie down. I will wake you up later.”

While An Nuan walked over to the bed, Lin Xiao Feng went to the bathroom to fetch a towel.

He returned to the bed only to find that his wife was sprawled on the bed.

Lin Xiao Feng tucked An Nuan into bed first. Then, he took the towel and wiped An Nuan’s face.

A sigh escaped his lips as he watched his sleeping wife.

He really should not let An Nuan drink with Liu Qing again. That woman was very good at making An Nuan drink more than she should.

An Nuan opened her eyes only to see that her surroundings were too dark.

She narrowed her eyes to adjust the light in her eyes. Then, An Nuan realized that something was strange.

This was not her bedroom!

An Nuan sat up straight as the thought came to her mind.

It took her a while before she finally remembered that she was attending Qi Zheng and Yun Shu’s wedding with Lin Xiao Feng.

During the party, she met a few classmates and started to drink to liven up the atmosphere.

Her head started to ache. Then, Lin Xiao Feng took her upstairs to rest.

An Nuan swept her gaze around the room and realized that she was sleeping on the bed alone.

Her brow furrowed as she wondered where was her husband and why she was in the room alone.

She alighted from the bed and tiptoed around the room, hoping that she would find a clue about Lin Xiao Feng’s whereabouts.

The room was dark.

Because of that, An Nuan ended up kicking the table while she was walking around.

The pain almost made her cry.

Suddenly, her ears caught a beeping sound coming from the door.

A few seconds later, An Nuan finally spotted Lin Xiao Feng walking through the door.

Lin Xiao Feng paused when he sensed that something was wrong. It did not take him a long time to notice a figure crouched next to the table. The person was no other than his wife.

He closed the door behind him and switched on the light.

“Nuan Nuan?” Lin Xiao Feng tossed the bag he brought with him on the floor before walking over to An Nuan.”What’s wrong? Why are you sitting here?”

Lin Xiao Feng remembered that An Nuan was sleeping in bed when he left. He did not expect that An Nuan would wake up very soon.

His heart grew distressed when he noticed An Nuan’s teary eyes.
