Chapter 279: Are You Going to Blame Assistant Lu?
Assistant Lu Zheng was already waiting for her when An Nuan showed up in the company’s lobby with a bag of takeaway food. Noticing the bag of takeaway food made Assistant Lu Zheng smile.

He told An Nuan that his boss skipped his lunch and had asked An Nuan to persuade him to eat.

It seemed that An Nuan listened to him.

Assistant Lu Zheng had a feeling that his boss’s mood would improve afterward.

Working with Lin Xiao Feng while he was in a bad mood was never easy.

“Mrs. Lin, hello.” Assistant Lu greeted as An Nuan approached.

“Hello.” An Nuan smiled before turning her gaze to the elevator. “My husband is still busy?”

“Mr. Lin was looking at some documents earlier,” Lu Zheng said. “It will be a while before he finishes.”

“He still hasn’t eaten?”

Lu Zheng flashed an apologetic smile.

An Nuan heaved a sigh.

“Mrs. Lin, I will take you upstairs.”

The two headed to the elevator together.

Lu Zheng pressed the button on the elevator before turning to An Nuan again. “Mrs. Lin, I’m guessing that you should be coming over from your company. How is it? Is everything going well?”

“Mhm… Everything is going well.” An Nuan smiled. “I still have to thank you for helping me.”

If Lin Xiao Feng did not lend his assistance, starting up her company would be very difficult.

The elevator stopped with a ding.

This was not the first time An Nuan had visited Lin Xiao Feng’s office. Walking towards his office made her feel anxious, especially when she knew that the staff were watching her.

Assistant Lu knocked on the door when they arrived.

Just like the last time, Lin Xiao Feng’s attention was on the documents on his desk. He did not bother to look up to see who was coming in.

“Mr. Lin.” Lu Zheng cleared his throat. “I brought you some food. You haven’t eaten anything for lunch. Perhaps you should take the time to eat something first.”

“Just leave the food on the table.” Lin Xiao Feng motioned towards the coffee table. “I’ll eat later.”

“Are you sure you’re not going to eat now?”

Lin Xiao Feng placed the document on the table impatiently. He raised his head and was about to say something when he saw his wife standing next to his assistant.

He stared at An Nuan unblinkingly as if he could not believe that his wife was in front of him.

“Mr. Lin.” An Nuan shook the paper bag in her hand. “I brought some food. Do you mind accompanying me to eat?”

Lin Xiao Feng snapped out of his trance.

Listening to An Nuan’s voice, he was now convinced that the person in front of him was real. He stood up immediately and walked over. “Nuan Nuan, when did you arrive?”

“Just now.”

Assistant Lu closed the door with a smile. He guessed that the couple was going to need to spend their time alone.

As soon as the door was closed tightly, Lin Xiao Feng pulled An Nuan into his arms and kissed her lips. “Why didn’t you tell me you were coming?”

“I wasn’t planning to come,” An Nuan said. “I was meeting Assistant Xu at the new office earlier. The company is close by. I was thinking that I should come over to look at you.”

Lin Xiao Feng thought that letting An Nuan rent an office near his office was the right move.

Initially, he planned to look for his wife whenever he was free. But it seemed that An Nuan could come over to look for him as well.

Lin Xiao Feng smiled. His expression was full of joy. “Don’t be shy. You can tell me that you miss me.”

An Nuan looked at her shameless husband speechlessly.

Lin Xiao Feng always looked cool and serious in the past.

An Nuan felt that Lin Xiao Feng was only pretending.

“Let’s eat.” An Nuan broke away from Lin Xiao Feng’s embrace and walked over to the sofa. She placed the takeaway bag on the coffee table before turning to Lin Xiao Feng again. Her eyes narrowed dangerously at him. “You… I heard you skipped your lunch today.”

Lin Xiao Feng cleared his throat. “I wasn’t hungry.” He glanced at the door and guessed that his assistant had said a few things to his wife. His assistant was such a busybody.

“What is it? Are you going to blame Assistant Lu?” An Nuan said when she noticed Lin Xiao Feng looking at the door.

“I’m not.” Lin Xiao Feng touched the tip of his nose.

An Nuan stared at Lin Xiao Feng for a few seconds longer. “Even if you’re not hungry, you should not skip your lunch. Don’t just focus on your work. What would I do if something happened to you?”

Lin Xiao Feng thought that having his wife scolding him was a happy thing.

“You are right. I promised that I would look after you and protect you.’ He stopped next to An Nuan and held her hand “I have to look after myself first before I can look after you.”

An Nuan had a satisfied smile on her face. “It’s good that you understand that.” She pulled Lin Xiao Feng to sit down. Then, An Nuan took out the food from her paper bag and began to serve the food.

His stomach growled at the scent of the food.

Previously, he said that he was not hungry. But now, Lin Xiao Feng could not wait to dig into his food.

An Nuan watched as Lin Xiao Feng ate his food and smiled.

Noticing that An Nuan was staring at him, Lin Xiao Feng clipped some food to feed her.

“How is it? Delicious?”

An Nuan nodded. She looked at Lin Xiao Feng’s desk and saw the stacks of documents on it. “Are you really busy? I’m not disturbing you with my presence, right?”

“Of course, not.” Lin Xiao Feng swallowed his food. “I could take things slow but I want to come home earlier and look for you.”

An Nuan’s heart was beating fast. “Next time, you can tell me if you’re busy. If you can’t come to me, I can come to find you.”

Lin Xiao Feng felt happier when he heard An Nuan’s words. “Alright.”
