Chapter 280: Ye Qing Xin’s Text
“What are you working on?” An Nuan asked as she peeked at the documents on Lin Xiao Feng’s table. “These documents, are they classified? Can I peek?”

After a quick break, An Nuan let Lin Xiao Feng continue his work. An Nuan just wanted Lin Xiao Feng to eat something before he would get sick.

“You can look.” Lin Xiao Feng pulled An Nuan’s hand and let her sit on his lap.

An Nuan’s face turned redder. Before she could think of escaping, Lin Xiao Feng already wrapped his arms around her waist.

They were still at his office but this man was acting indecently.

“It’s just a development plan on the west side,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “A few companies are sending their proposals for the project. I have to look at them before the next meeting with the mayor.”

An Nuan was no longer struggling in Lin Xiao Feng’s arms as she was busy looking at the plan on the desk. Her brow furrowed as she realized that she did not understand much about the proposal.

Noticing the blank look on his wife’s face, Lin Xiao Feng decided to explain to An Nuan a bit about what he was doing.

“Alright. I won’t be a distraction for you.” An Nuan rested her arms on Lin Xiao Feng’s shoulders before leaning to kiss the tip of his nose. “I’ll let you do your work.”

“You’re not going to listen anymore?” Lin Xiao Feng raised a brow.

He enjoyed having An Nuan close to him. However, his wife was always thinking of escaping.

“Maybe next time.” An Nuan smiled. “Right now, you have to finish your work so that we can head home together.”

“You’re waiting for me?” Lin Xiao Feng looked surprised.

“Mhm… Let’s not trouble Assistant Lu. Anyway, since I am here, I’ll wait for you.” An Nuan patted Lin Xiao Feng’s head. “I’ll look at a few documents on the sofa while I wait for you.”

Lin Xiao Feng wanted to tell An Nuan that she did not have to wait for him. At the same time, he was happy that his wife would be in the same room as him.

“Nuan Nuan, you are so nice.”

An Nuan laughed. She thought that Lin Xiao Feng was being silly again.

“Alright.” Lin Xiao Feng nodded. He inhaled a deep breath before looking at his wife again. “I will work hard.”

He might be easily distracted by his wife’s presence. But right now, Lin Xiao Feng was motivated to finish his work faster so that they could both head home. He would feel bad if he let An Nuan wait for him for a long time.

With his mindset, Lin Xiao Feng began to concentrate on his work again.

An Nuan sat on the sofa while glancing at Lin Xiao Feng a few times.

Being in the same room with him even when they were both doing their things felt quite good. An Nuan thought that as long as she could see Lin Xiao Feng whenever she turned around, her heart would be at ease.

The thought surprised her.

She was in disbelief at how easy it was for her to be comfortable around Lin Xiao Feng.

An Nuan lowered her head and continued to look at a few documents.

A soft vibration from her phone made An Nuan look up.

Her brow rose when she saw that it was a text from Ye Qing Xin.

An Nuan thought that Ye Qing Xin was texting her about their cooperation. Unexpectedly, this time, the text was regarding her mentor.

Last time, An Nuan decided to let Ye Qing Xin arrange a meeting for her and her mentor. An Nuan did not expect that she would get an answer not too long after returning to Capital City.

Coincidentally, her mentor had an event in Capital City in a few weeks and planned to see An Nuan along the way.

Ye Qing Xin wanted to know if An Nuan wanted to meet the old man.

An Nuan did not immediately reply to the message.

She reread the words on her phone a few times, slowly digesting the information.

“You called me?” Her eyes widened in surprise.

She did not hear anything.

“Mhm…” Lin Xiao Feng sat next to his wife with a curious look on his face.

He could not help but wonder what was going through An Nuan’s mind. She seemed to be in a trance.

“It’s…” An Nuan shifted her gaze to her phone again. “Miss Ye texted me.”

“Ah Yuan’s girlfriend?”

An Nuan chuckled as she remembered hearing that Su Ming Yuan was chasing after Ye Qing Xin a while ago.

Lin Xiao Feng would sometimes call Ye Qing Xin as Su Ming Yuan’s girlfriend whenever they were alone but, who knows if Su Ming Yuan had successfully won over Ye Qing Xin’s heart.

An Nuan nodded. “My mentor had reached for her again. He was coming to Capital City in a few weeks. Ye Qing Xin wanted to know if I wanted to meet him.”

Lin Xiao Feng immediately understood what An Nuan was worried about. His gaze softened. “You’re afraid?”

“I’m worried my mentor is going to scold me the moment we meet.” An Nuan laughed.

“Nuan Nuan, you don’t have to be afraid.” Lin Xiao Feng held An Nuan’s hand. “I will accompany you to meet your mentor. Everything is going to be alright.”

“Hmm…” An Nuan leaned her head on Lin Xiao Feng’s shoulder. “I hope you are right.”
