Mr. Lane observed Lin Xiao Feng silently. The man’s coolness made him frown. Lin Xiao Feng looked as if he was not affected by his sharp gaze. Mr. Lane concluded that Lin Xiao Feng was not that simple.

“T-teacher,” An Nuan called. Her hand under the table clenched tightly. She was still anxious. “I was surprised when Miss Ye from Bluebell told me that you wanted to see me.”

Stella Lane glanced at her father and smiled. “An Nuan, I suppose you are curious to know why my father is looking for you.”

An Nuan nodded slowly.

“A while ago, we saw the advertisement featuring that idol, Ning Wei. A student brought a magazine in class and was discussing Ning Wei’s clothes and accessories,” Miss Lane continued.

The old man shot a sharp look at his daughter. However, he did not say a word to stop her from telling An Nuan the story.

“You know how my dad hates having his students not paying attention in class.” Miss Lane chuckled. “He took the student’s magazine and happened to see the advertisement.” Her eyes shifted to her father again. “When my dad saw the bracelet on the idol’s hand, he suspected that the bracelet was designed by you.”

An Nuan was surprised. She knew the advertisement that Miss Lane was talking about.

She did not think that her mentor would think of her when he saw the bracelet.

“An Nuan, you have been my father’s student for years,” Stella said. “Of course, my dad would recognize some details. My dad says he had seen you designing something like the bracelet in the past. It’s either someone is stealing your design or you have returned to designing jewelry.”

An Nuan had produced a lot of designs in the past and a lot of them were initial sketches. She might have shown a few of them to her mentor before. An Nuan did not expect that her mentor would recognize her design.

“My dad called the shopping company and found out that the bracelet was made by you.”

Mr. Lane cleared his throat. “Back then, you were determined to quit designing just to marry that person. Why did you decide to return now?”

The old man recalled how angry he was when he learned the news that An Nuan was quitting.

In his opinion, An Nuan’s future was bright. She could still continue her career in designing jewelry after married. But An Nuan decided to quit.

She told him that her future husband and his family wanted her to focus on their marriage. She planned to get pregnant quickly and become a good mother and wife.

Now, there was nothing wrong with what An Nuan wanted to do.

But Mr. Lane could see that An Nuan liked designing jewelry. She had so much passion in the industry.

An Nuan was hardworking and willing to learn.

After An Nuan left, he deleted his student’s contact number in anger.

If he did not happen to see the magazine, he would forget that he had a student like An Nuan.

“When I had a few designs, my friends suggested me to sell it somewhere,” An Nuan said. “It was then when I met Miss Ye and her shopping platform. I sent a few jewelry to her. I did not expect that they would sell very well because of Ning Wei.”

“Then, An Nuan, what are you planning to do now?” Stella asked.

Looking at her father’s angry face, Stella decided to speak on her father’s behalf. With her father’s temper, there was a chance that An Nuan would bolt off before he got to say what he came to say.

“Are you going to continue designing or that set of jewelry was a one-time thing?”

“I’m planning to continue.” An Nuan glanced at her mentor to observe his reaction. Noticing the frown on her mentor’s face gradually disappeared put her at ease. “Recently, I decided to start my own company and work on some jewelry.”

Stella turned to her father and patted him softly on the shoulder. “Dad. Did you hear that? Now you can be at ease, right?”

Andrew groaned at his daughter’s teasing. However, everyone in the room could see that the way he looked at An Nuan now was no longer as fierce as it was before.

“You should know how happy my father is when he found out that you have returned,” Stella said. “He was very happy when he saw the jewelry in that magazine.” She looked at her father and laughed. “I told him that he might make a mistake when he saw the jewelry but he was confident that you are the designer.”

“Stella…” Andrew’s expression darkened. “You talk too much.”

Stella laughed again. “You see… My dad is just shy.”

Andrew looked displeased with his daughter. He looked at Lin Xiao Feng who sat beside An Nuan quietly from the beginning. Then, the frown on his face returned. “What about your husband? Did he agree with you continuing? Won’t he ask you to quit in the future?”
