Chapter 287: An Nuan’s Decision
“Just think about your mentor’s offer first,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “I don’t want you to have any regrets.”

An Nuan pinched Lin Xiao Feng’s nose. “I won’t.” She inhaled a deep breath and looked away. “I don’t have to think about it. I won’t go. Next time I meet with my mentor again, I will give him my answer.”

“An Nuan.” Lin Xiao Feng tensed again. He felt that An Nuan was making a rash decision.

Before Lin Xiao Feng could say another word, An Nuan placed a finger on his lips, signaling him not to say a word.

“I already think it through,” An Nuan said. “Lin Xiao Feng, didn’t you say that you will let me make any decision myself?” Her brow furrowed as An Nuan pretended to be angry. “Are you going to say that you have changed your mind?”

“Of course, not.” Lin Xiao Feng chuckled. He inhaled a deep breath and tried to smile. “Alright. Since you have made up your mind, I won’t say anything. But Nuan Nuan, if you change your mind, you can always tell me.”

“I know.” An Nuan smiled. “Now, will you drive back? I’m tired.”

Lin Xiao Feng composed himself before focusing on his driving to get home.

A week later, An Nuan went out to meet with her mentor again. This time, she went alone without Lin Xiao Feng accompanying her.

Initially, Lin Xiao Feng wanted to go with An Nuan but she rejected him, knowing that he still had a lot of work at the company.

Lin Xiao Feng is always busy. However, he always tried to make time for her. It made An Nuan feel guilty.

An Nuan drove Lin Xiao Feng’s car to the meeting point.

Her mentor gave An Nuan a week to think of his offer. However, An Nuan felt that there was no need for her to think of the offer. She already knew that she did not want to go. There were a lot of reasons for her to stay.

An Nuan was about to knock when the door was opened from the inside. Her movement halted when she saw Stella standing in front of her.

“An Nuan.”Stella smiled. “You are here.”

“Mhm…” An Nuan lowered her hand and peeked into the room. “My teacher has not arrived?”

“My dad went to the restroom,” Stella said. “Come on in. He will be coming soon.” He pointed at the corridor. “I’m just going to look for the waiter.”

An Nuan walked into the room and sat on the empty chair.

While waiting for both her mentor and Stella to return, An Nuan took out her phone and texted Lin Xiao Feng that she had arrived at the restaurant.

Lin Xiao Feng was probably busy and did not have time to look at her text yet.

An Nuan planned to look for Lin Xiao Feng at his office again if her meeting with her mentor did not last for too long.

This time, she came to see her mentor to tell him her decision.

An Nuan had a feeling that her mentor was not going to like her answer. This meeting is not going to be a pleasant one and she probably won’t have much appetite.

As the thought came to her mind, An Nuan wondered if she should bring some food to Lin Xiao Feng and have a meal with him like the last time.

Lin Xiao Feng seemed to like her visiting him at the office. An Nuan could almost imagine the smile on Lin Xiao Feng’s face when she showed up later.

The door was pushed open. As she sat around the table, An Nuan could hear her mentor’s voice. Instantly, An Nuan shoved her phone into her purse and tensed.

Soon, her mentor appeared with his daughter at the door.

The smile on An Nuan’s lips stiffened. “Teacher.”

Andrew did not seem surprised to see An Nuan in the room as he had already heard through her daughter that An Nuan was waiting for them in the room. The old man gave An Nuan a lookover and nodded. “You are here.” He walked into the room and took a seat next to his daughter.

The group ordered their food as the waiter walked in.

An Nuan peeked at her mentor a few times and noticed that the man seemed to be in a bad mood.

They have known each other for a long time. Her mentor probably could guess that she did not come over with good news.

The three of them chatted casually as they had their meal.

Most of the time, it was An Nuan and Stella who talked.

They hadn’t seen each other in a while and Stella was curious about An Nuan’s wedding with Lin Xiao Feng. Most people would find their marriage interesting, especially when they heard that Lin Xiao Feng volunteered to marry An Nuan after Pei Zhi Yi left.

An Nuan wanted to bring up her decision a few times but decided to let the old man have a proper meal first.

“Teacher…” An Nuan lowered the cutleries in her hands when she saw that Andrew was done with his meal. A strained smile curled on her lips as the old man raised his head to look at her. “I need to tell you my decision.”

Andrew raised a hand as if motioning An Nuan not to speak.

He wiped the corner of his lips with a napkin before looking at An Nuan. “I already know what you’re going to tell me.” Her eyes narrowed slightly. “You’re going to decline my offer, am I right?”

An Nuan inhaled a deep breath and sat up. “Yes.”

Andrew scoffed. “Is it because of that man? An Nuan, making a decision because of a man is not a good thing.” His expression became unpleasant when he remembered the last time this student quit because of Pei Zhi Yi.

“Teacher, my husband did not influence me when I made this decision,” An Nuan said. “Everything is my own decision.”

Andrew’s expression showed that he did not believe in An Nuan’s words.
