After leaving the event, Lin Xiao Feng took his wife to have a proper meal before driving home.

An Nuan looked out the window and recalled her conversation with Secretary Shi earlier. She glanced at Lin Xiao Feng a few times, wondering why this man had suddenly dismissed his secretary.

Coincidentally, An Nuan was peeking at Lin Xiao Feng again when the man happened to look at her.

Their gazes met and An Nuan did not miss the teasing smile on Lin Xiao Feng’s lips.

“Why are you peeking at me again?” Lin Xiao Feng asked. “Do I look good?”

Her eyes narrowed at him. “Yes. Yes. You look good.”

Lin Xiao Feng laughed when he heard her words.

The car turned to a corner heading to their residential area.

An Nuan watched as Lin Xiao Feng waved his hand at the guards at the entrance before driving in.

“I ran into Secretary Shi at the event hall earlier,” An Nuan said. She kept her eyes on Lin Xiao Feng, wanting to see his reaction. She watched as the man’s brow furrowed deeper.

“Secretary Shi?” Lin Xiao Feng repeated. “What was she doing at the event?”

“I don’t know.” An Nuan shrugged.

Initially, An Nuan was not planning to ask Lin Xiao Feng about his secretary. But she was suddenly curious to know how Lin Xiao Feng was going to answer her.

Lin Xiao Feng drove into the driveway and pulled over. He turned off the engine and looked at his wife again.

He did not care about the secretary but he figured that Secretary Shi’s presence should not be anything coincidental. Now that she was no longer his secretary, that woman had no reason to come to the event.

“Lin Xiao Feng.” An Nuan leaned closer to him. “I heard that you dismissed Secretary Shi. Just now, Secretary Shi came to me and blamed me for her dismissal. What is going on? I didn’t know if I had done anything to get Secretary Shi dismissed.”

Lin Xiao Feng looked unhappy that his former secretary came to look for his wife.

“You didn’t do anything,” Lin Xiao Feng said.

“That’s not what Secretary Shi said. I’m curious. Why did you fire her?”

“She made mistakes at work. It doesn’t happen once or twice.” Lin Xiao Feng stared at An Nuan for a long time. “I heard that Miss Shi said something to you when you came to the company the last time. She tried to bully you but Nuan Nuan, why didn’t you say anything?”

That secretary had overstepped her boundaries and tried to bully his wife. But his wife had not said anything to him.

Lin Xiao Feng was upset when he recalled what he heard from Assistant Lu.

An Nuan chuckled. “She did not get to do anything. Why would I tell you?”

“Then, will you wait until you suffer a grievance before you tell me anything?”

A faint smile curled on An Nuan’s lips. “Just a small trick from her. Lin Xiao Feng, I can still handle someone like your secretary. Most importantly, I did not suffer anything.”

“I don’t want you to feel wronged.”

“I’m not. Lin Xiao Feng, you have to trust me. I won’t let myself be bullied.” An Nuan raised her hands and rested them on Lin Xiao Feng’s shoulders. Her movement pulled them closer until the tip of their noses were almost touching. She stared into his eyes for a while before leaning over to peck on his lips. “Moreover, I don’t want to meddle with your business. Secretary Shi has been working with you for a while. I’m guessing that she should be good at her work. I don’t want you to lose any valuable person around you.”

“You don’t have to worry about me.”

An Nuan placed a finger on Lin Xiao Feng’s lips. “If I don’t worry about my husband, then, who should I worry about?”

Lin Xiao Feng’s face softened and a chuckle escaped his lips. “Mrs. Lin, I wonder if you are trying to reason with me or to seduce me?”

An Nuan’s words were enough to stir some feelings inside him.

He liked listening to An Nuan calling him her husband.

An Nuan was stunned to hear Lin Xiao Feng’s words. She quickly recovered and laughed when she realized what Lin Xiao Feng was happy about. “Oh? Lin Xiao Feng, are you that easy to seduce?”

“Hmm…” Lin Xiao Feng pretended to ponder over An Nuan’s question. Then, he smiled charmingly at her. “Only if the other person who seduced me is you.”

An Nuan narrowed her eyes. This man is getting better at saying words that would make her heart pound faster.
