Chapter 299: Master Zhuang
An Nuan read Lin Xiao Feng’s text before calling his number.

She was half asleep when Lin Xiao Feng left. After seeing the photos online, An Nuan was quite worried about Lin Xiao Feng.

The phone rang for a few seconds before Lin Xiao Feng picked up the phone.

“Nuan Nuan?”

An Nuan heaved in relief when she heard Lin Xiao Feng’s voice. Then she quickly noticed the hint of fatigue in the man’s voice.

“Hmm… Are you busy?” An Nuan asked.

“Not at the moment,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “I was asked to sit down and rest for a bit.” A chuckle escaped his lips. “What’s wrong? Are you alright?”

“I’m fine. It’s you that I am worried about.”

Lin Xiao Feng’s expression turned gentler when he heard that his wife was worrying about him.

“I saw the photos online,” An Nuan continued. “The flood looked quite bad. Lin Xiao Feng, how are you? How’s everything?”

“I’m fine,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “The residents affected have been moved to a safer place. We just hope that the incoming storm will pass very quickly.”

Lin Xiao Feng continued to tell An Nuan a bit about the situation on-site and what he had done to help.

An Nuan finally breathed in relief upon hearing that the situation was now under control. The most important thing was to rescue everyone who was trapped.

“Lin Xiao Feng, have you eaten?” An Nuan asked.

The man let out a soft laugh. “I have. I ate with everyone while having a discussion.”

“That’s good. You always forget to eat when you are busy,” An Nuan pointed out. “Lin Xiao Feng, you have to remember to take care of yourself.”

Lin Xiao Feng was tired after getting up too early to help the affected citizens. But hearing his wife’s concern put him in a good mood, knowing that his wife’s feelings for him had deepened.

“I know. Then, what about you? Have you eaten?”

“I have. Auntie Yu made some porridge for breakfast,” An Nuan said. Then, she told Lin Xiao Feng that she had given Auntie Yu a half-day’s rest because of the weather. She was worried that the rain would worsen and Auntie Yu would be stuck in the weather.

“You’re outside?” Lin Xiao Feng asked when he heard that his wife had sent the older woman back.

“I have an appointment with a craft master,” An Nuan said. “It won’t take long. I’ll be back after this meeting.”

Lin Xiao Feng did not suspect anything. He thought that his wife was meeting a craft master to discuss her jewelry.

The husband and wife chatted for a bit before they ended the phone call.

An Nuan wanted to talk to Lin Xiao Feng longer but she remembered that he still had to rest after working hard.

Grabbing her umbrella, An Nuan alighted from the car and ran towards the building in front of her.

She pressed the doorbell and shivered in cold as she waited for someone to open the door.

A few seconds later, a young woman walked over to unlock the door.

“Hello.” The young woman greeted her with a smile. “May I help you?”

“Hi.” An Nuan glanced into the shop. “I am looking for Mr. Zhuang. I have an appointment with him.”

The light in the woman’s eyes flickered. “Miss An?”

“That’s me.”

The young woman stepped aside to let An Nuan in. “Master Zhuang is expecting you. Please come in.”

“Thank you.” An Nuan stepped into the shop and started to look around. Her eyes fell on the display box on the side.

“Miss An, you can take a seat.” The young woman gestured towards the lounge area. “Master Zhuang will be coming over in a while.”

An Nuan thanked the young woman. She walked towards the lounge area and sat down while waiting for the person she wanted to meet.

Before coming over, An Nuan had looked up about the person online.

His reputation was good and his craft looked praised by many. An Nuan just hoped that Master Zhuang would have time to help her craft her ring.

An Nuan was busy looking around the shop when she heard the sound of approaching footsteps. She looked up and saw a tall man in a blue shirt and black pants walking in.

The young woman from earlier followed him closely while carrying a tray of refreshments.

“Miss An Nuan?” The tall man raised a brow as he gave An Nuan a lookover, quietly assessing her.

An Nuan stood up. “Yes. Master Zhuang?”

The two of them exchanged a handshake.

As they took their seats, the young woman served hot tea and small cakes for their guests.

“We talked briefly on the phone,” Master Zhuang said. “I understand that you want to custom-make a ring?”

“Yes. My wedding is in four months. I know that the time is short but I wonder if you are able to help me?”

“Four months?” The man frowned. “It depends on the design. If it is something complicated, then it would take a longer time to prepare.”

An Nuan heaved in relief when Master Zhuang did not decline her request.

At least she knew that there was a chance for this craft master to squeeze her ring into his schedule.

Time is limited. If Master Zhuang declines her request, she will have to look for another craftsman. She was running out of time. If this matter was delayed longer, there was a huge chance that she wouldn’t be able to prepare the ring before the wedding banquet.

Master Zhuang waved a hand at the young woman, signaling her to bring over a catalogue for An Nuan to look at.

An Nuan glanced at the catalogue and was satisfied with the master’s craft.

However, she already has something in mind.

An Nuan lowered the catalogue in her hand before turning to the man again. “Master Zhuang, I actually have a design I’d like you to custom make. I brought the sketch with me.”

Master Zhuang looked surprised. “I will have to look at the sketch first.”

She reached for her bag and took out the design he had prepared. “Master Zhuang, please take a look.” An Nuan handed the sketch to Master Zhuang and waited anxiously as the man took a look at her sketches.
