Lin Xiao Feng’s expression changed the moment he saw the news on Assistant Lu’s phone.

It was a photo of him at the shelter last night with Secretary Shi beside him. The angle of the photo made it look like he was leaning on Shi’s body. Their pose was quite intimate.

His legs were weak after staying in the toilet for a long time. A few of the staff suggested he go to the hospital and Assistant Lu was making a few arrangements for him.

“Come over here.” Lin Xiao Feng waved his hand to his wife. Once An Nuan came to his side, Lin Xiao Feng passed Assistant Lu’s phone to her. “Take a look at this.”

Lin Xiao Feng kept his eyes on An Nuan as she read the news. Seeing that An Nuan was staring at the phone screen for a long time without giving him any reaction made Lin Xiao Feng worry.

His voice snapped An Nuan out of her thoughts.

An Nuan looked up to see Lin Xiao Feng’s worried expression.

“Do you trust me?” Lin Xiao Feng asked. His hands clenched tightly by his side.

The couple stared into each other’s eyes.

Finally, An Nuan held Lin Xiao Feng’s hand and gripped it tightly. “I trust you. What relationship with your secretary? Lin Xiao Feng, I don’t believe in this nonsense. We should find a lawyer to sue the person who made up this story.”

An Nuan frowned. Her instinct was telling her that Secretary Shi was involved in spreading this nonsense.

Lin Xiao Feng heaved in relief when he heard his wife’s answer.

“But, why is Secretary Shi at the shelter?” An Nuan asked.

“She came over as a volunteer,” Lin Xiao Feng answered. “We didn’t have any contact while we were at the shelter. That photograph… It was taken last night while I was on my way to the hospital. Secretary Shi approached to ask me if I was not feeling well. I did not answer her and left with Assistant Lu.” Lin Xiao Feng quickly explained the situation. “I did not mention her presence at the shelter earlier because I don’t think it was worth mentioning.”

“Mr. Lin, Mrs. Lin, I already asked our people to clarify everything,” Assistant Lu said. “I will discuss with our lawyer to take legal action against the people who spread those rumors.”

An Nuan stood at the side while Lin Xiao Feng and Assistant Lu were discussing what they should do.

Lin Xiao Feng was supposed to be resting. However, someone made trouble for him, forcing him to get back to work instead of resting.

An Nuan pulled her attention away from the men’s discussion when her phone rang.

Seeing her mother-in-law’s name on the screen, An Nuan excused herself and stepped aside to answer the phone call.

“Mom,” An Nuan said as the phone call was connected. She tried to be casual so that her mother-in-law would not detect anything from her voice.

“Nuan Nuan.” Song Luan’s voice sounded anxious. “Is Xiao Feng with you? I can’t seem to reach him.”

An Nuan glanced at Lin Xiao Feng who was still discussing with his assistant.

She then remembered that Lin Xiao Feng had set his phone to silent mode as he was resting earlier.

“Mom, I’m with him,” An Nuan said. “Xiao Feng is currently discussing something with his assistant.”

“I need to talk to him,” Song Luan said. “Nuan Nuan, tell him it’s important.”
