Chapter 32: An Family’s Son-in-Law

A smile appeared on Lin Xiao Feng’s lips as he watched An Nuan walk over to her family’s side.

These past few days, An Nuan’s family has been worrying about her. Knowing An Nuan was returning home today, her parents woke up early to wait for their daughter to return.

An Nuan would call her parents every day while she was in T Country to assure them that she was still well and breathing.

However, her elders were not at ease until they saw An Nuan with their own eyes.

While An Nuan was reunited with her parents at the entrance, Lin Xiao Feng was helping An Nuan carry her luggage. He watched as An Nuan’s parents took their daughter into the house and followed suit.

A helper saw that Lin Xiao Feng was carrying An Nuan’s luggage and offered to bring them upstairs to An Nuan’s room.

As Lin Xiao Feng stood in the hallway, he could hear An Nuan’s voice, coming from the living area as she chatted with her parents.

He wanted to go over and take a look at his wife.

At the same time, Lin Xiao Feng wanted to give An Nuan and her parents some space. He figured that the elders would want to be alone with An Nuan for a while.

A faint sigh escaped his lips.

Lin Xiao Feng thought that his situation was a bit strange.

He was now An family’s son-in-law. However, Lin Xiao Feng felt like an outsider.

Lin Xiao Feng continued to stand in the hallway while looking around the place. From where he stood, he could still hear An Nuan’s and her parents’ voices.

Feeling as if someone was watching him, Lin Xiao Feng turned around.

His lips curled to a smile when he saw a little boy standing behind the wall, peeking at him.

It was An Jian’s son, An Yi Ran.

Their gazes met for a long time. It took a while before the little boy finally came out of his hiding place and walked over to Lin Xiao Feng’s side.

“Uncle.” The little boy greeted him. He had to look up due to their height differences. “Why are you here alone?”

“Just looking around.”

An Yi Ran held Lin Xiao Feng’s hand. “Uncle. Everyone is in the dining room. My Grandmother prepared a lot of dishes today. Should we go together?”

Lin Xiao Feng smiled as he patted the little boy’s head. “Alright.”

The light in An Yi Ran’s eyes lit up when he heard Lin Xiao Feng’s agreement. Holding hands, the two of them started to walk towards the dining area together.

They had to walk slowly with An Yi Ran’s short legs.

Once in a while, the little boy would sneak a glance at Lin Xiao Feng before he silently looked away.

They soon reached the dining area where An Yi Ran’s parents were seated.

The couple seemed to be discussing something in a low voice when they noticed Lin Xiao Feng’s presence.

Tian Xin, An Jian’s wife, smiled. “Xiao Feng, you are here. Have a seat. The others will be here shortly.”

“Mommy,” An Yi Ran called. “I brought Younger Uncle over.” There was a hint of pride on the little boy’s face.

“Mhm…” Tian Xin rubbed her son’s head. “Thank you. My son is the best.”

The little boy had a shy smile on his face.

“Then, can you help Mommy to call your grandparents and your aunt over?” Tian Xin asked.

An Yi Ran nodded. Then, he turned around to look for the others who were in the living room.

The atmosphere in the dining area turned quiet again without An Yi Ran around.

Lin Xiao Feng raised his head and met An Jian’s eyes.

“Thank you for picking up Nuan Nuan from the airport today,” An Jian said.

Lin Xiao Feng smiled. He did not mind picking up An Nuan. After all, she is now his wife.

“Did you not encounter any troublesome matters on your way back?” An Jian asked cautiously.

“No.” Lin Xiao Feng was quick to figure out that something was wrong.”What happened?” He then recalled seeing An Jian and his wife whispering earlier.

An Nuan had just returned from T Country.

Knowing An Jian, this man should be looking for his younger sister. However, he stayed in the dining room with his wife to discuss something in a low voice.

Whatever the husband and wife were discussing earlier should be related to An Nuan.

An Jian exchanged a look with his wife before he turned to Lin Xiao Feng again. “We received a call from the security at the gate earlier. They said that Pei Zhi Yi came to look for An Nuan again.”

Lin Xiao Feng frowned. He was not happy to hear that Pei Zhi Yi was looking for his wife.

“The guards would not let Pei Zhi Yi in,” An Jian continued. “We are worried that he would find a way to get in.”

“We did not encounter him when we came over,” Lin Xiao Feng said.

“That’s good.” An Jian heaved a breath of relief.

Lin Xiao Feng made a mental reminder to tell the security to tighten their security.

He knew that Pei Zhi Yi had almost gone crazy when he could not reach for An Nuan these past few days.

It was said that Pei Zhi Yi refused to believe that An Nuan had found someone else as a groom. Pei Zhi Yi refused to believe that news until he heard everything from An Nuan’s mouth.

It would be great if An Nuan would follow him back to Capital City.
