Chapter 348: Can’t Bear to Leave
An Nuan was walking down the stairs to accompany Lin Xiao Feng for breakfast before he returned to Capital City in a few hours when she overheard her husband’s conversation with her father.

They were talking about Sun Jiao and the Pei family’s reaction.

It was not surprising to hear the Pei family’s decision to protect Sun Jiao. However, An Nuan was surprised to hear that the Pei family planned to sever their relationship with Sun Jiao in the future.

Being with Pei Zhi Yi for years, An Nuan knew that the Pei family doted on this adopted daughter.

This was one of the reasons she always gave in whenever Sun Jiao interrupted her date with Pei Zhi Yi.

Back then, she just loved Pei Zhi Yi that much and hoped to have a good relationship with him and his family. An Nuan would never have thought that the Pei family would break their relationship with Sun Jiao.

As she listened to their conversation, An Nuan walked over to the table casually and sat next to Lin Xiao Feng.

She noticed the anxious look on her father’s face. He was worried that this topic would make her uncomfortable. However, Lin Xiao Feng continued the conversation about the Pei family while picking up a few dishes for her to try.

Soon, her father found an excuse to leave, leaving both An Nuan and Lin Xiao Feng alone at the dining table.

An Nuan drank the soup that her mother stewed for her before turning to Lin Xiao Feng. “The Pei family really want to break their relationship with Sun Jiao?”

“Hmm…” Lin Xiao Feng nodded. “From what I heard, the Pei family’s business was having a hard time. With Miss Sun constantly making trouble for them, it was not going to be easy for the Pei in business.”

An Nuan nodded. She narrowed her eyes at Lin Xiao Feng and smiled. “Did you do something?”

Sun Jiao was taken to the police station and will be charged for harming her. An Nuan did not believe that Lin Xiao Feng would sit still and let Sun Jiao or the Pei family off.

Last time, it was Lin Xiao Feng who made it so that the Pei family could no longer do their business in Y City.

Lin Xiao Feng laughed. “I didn’t do anything much. The boys helped without me saying a word.”

An Nuan has to admit that sometimes, she was jealous of Lin Xiao Feng’s relationship with the boys. They had been close since young and were still looking over each other’s back now that they were adults.

“Don’t worry,” Lin Xiao Feng said when he noticed that his wife had been quiet for a while. “We won’t let Miss Sun escape the punishment she deserved that easily. She dared to hurt my wife. She has to pay for what she has done.”

Wei Jun Hao said that the Pei family was trying to negotiate to let Sun Jiao go. This was the last thing that the Pei family wanted to do for Sun Jiao before they separated.

However, there was no way that Lin Xiao Feng would let Sun Jiao go.

His eyes turned darker as he thought of the day Liu Qing called to tell him that An Nuan was at the hospital.

He almost fainted from fear.

Fortunately, An Nuan was taken to the hospital quickly.

Or else, they might lose their baby.

Although they were not expecting this pregnancy to happen sooner, Lin Xiao Feng could imagine how sad An Nuan would be if the baby was gone.

Once their meal ended, An Nuan fell into a bad mood.

Lin Xiao Feng was going to leave soon and she won’t be able to see him until the next weekend.

The soft pinch on her cheek snapped An Nuan out of her trance. She looked up and saw Lin Xiao Feng smiling at her.

“Don’t put on that face,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “I can’t bear to leave like this.”

An Nuan inhaled a deep breath to compose her thoughts.

She had to remind herself not to let Lin Xiao Feng worry about her.

“I will be fine.” An Nuan tried to smile. “Lin Xiao Feng, you have to call me when you arrive, remember?”

“I know.” Lin Xiao Feng nodded.

“Don’t forget to have your meal on time,” An Nuan reminded him. “I will be checking with Assistant Lu.” Her brow furrowed as a thought came to her mind. “You are not allowed to threaten him.”

Lin Xiao Feng laughed. “I know. I can see that you have a good relationship with my assistant.”

“Assistant Lu Zheng is good. He knows how to care for you.”

Lin Xiao Feng was jealous. But then, he remembered that it was Lu Zheng who came to him and reported about what his former secretary had done to his wife.

Just because of that, Lin Xiao Feng decided not to dismiss his assistant so soon.

An Nuan wrapped her arms around Lin Xiao Feng’s waist and leaned on his chest. “I’m going to miss you.”

She was going to miss this man so much. Going to bed at night would not be that easy without having someone to hug her.

The sound of a cough made An Nuan stand up straight again. She turned around and saw that her parents were standing behind her with a teasing smile on their faces.

An Nuan’s face turned red.

She wondered if her parents would think that she was too clingy to Lin Xiao Feng.

Fortunately, her parents only saw them hugging and not kissing. Or else, she would be too embarrassed.

“Alright. I’m taking Xiao Feng to the airport,” An Qi announced. He looked at Lin Xiao Feng and nodded. “Xiao Feng, are you ready?”

“Hmm…” Lin Xiao Feng nodded.

“Then, I’ll wait for you in the car.” An Qi shifted his eyes to his daughter. “You can take your time to say a few words to Nuan Nuan.”
