Chapter 356: The Pei Family

Since An Nuan would see her friends, the couple decided to walk around the hall and meet their guests.

Lin Xiao Feng held An Nuan’s hand and led her to the table.

The couple was approaching the table when An Nuan heard a bit of their conversation. Her friends from university did not notice her arrival and continued to talk. Their conversation revolved around Pei Zhi Yi.

The couple halted.

An Nuan pursed her lips. She did not expect that she would hear Pei Zhi Yi’s name at her wedding. But then, her university friends were also acquaintances of Pei Zhi Yi. A few of her friends were quite close to him. It would be impossible not to hear them talk about the person.

Lin Xiao Feng glanced at his wife with worry. He was wondering if he should take his wife away when he saw the calm look on her face.

He took a few deep breaths to calm down.

An Nuan snapped out of her trance and saw her friends watching her with anxious looks on their faces. They probably realized that she might overheard their conversation and were worried that she would be upset.

“Nuan Nuan.” Ren Di walked over before shooting a warning look to the group. The smile on her face returned when she turned to An Nuan again. “Is there anything you need me to do?”

Ren Di was An Nuan’s bridesmaid. It was not a strange question to ask.

An Nuan smiled, knowing that Ren Di was trying to smooth things over. “No.” An Nuan turned to Lin Xiao Feng and smiled. “I just wanted to introduce my husband to everyone.”

An Nuan pretended that she did not hear the classmate’s conversation. She held Lin Xiao Feng’s hands and introduced him to everyone else.

The others kept their eyes on An Nuan. Seeing that An Nuan’s mood was not disturbed, everyone around the table heaved in relief.

Seeing that the couple did not seem to mind their conversation, the atmosphere around them became livelier.

After they said a few more words with the classmates, Lin Xiao Feng took An Nuan to leave and headed to another table.

An Nuan met a few of their guests before Lin Xiao Feng took An Nuan back to their table.

With An Nuan’s condition, Lin Xiao Feng did not want to let her get too tired.

“Lin Xiao Feng,” An Nuan called as the man helped her to sit down. “That matter with the Pei family… Did you do something?”

Lin Xiao Feng’s face turned serious. He was worried that his wife would be angry after hearing her classmates’ conversation earlier. However, even if his wife was not happy with his decision, he would still do what he had done.

“That person had hurt you and almost caused you to lose our baby. I won’t let her go free that easy,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “The Pei family was implicated because they wanted to protect that adopted daughter. I don’t want them to cover the person who hurt you.” He watched An Nuan’s expression and frowned. “Nuan Nuan, are you angry?”

An Nuan laughed softly when she saw the worried look on Lin Xiao Feng’s face. “I’m not. I was just surprised to hear that the Pei family is going to move away from the city.”

Last time, the Pei family caused a lot of scenes for her and her family. Later, her parents had to move away for a short while to avoid them. Meanwhile, she decided to follow Lin Xiao Feng to Capital City.

Lin Xiao Feng was at ease when he saw that his wife was not angry.

An Nuan reached for Lin Xiao Feng’s hand and squeezed it lightly. “Hubby, I know that you are doing everything for me. You are just protecting me and our baby. How can I get angry?”

The couple stared at each other for a while. Then, Lin Xiao Feng leaned over to kiss An Nuan on the cheek.

“How about we head back first?” Lin Xiao Feng asked. His eyes were watching An Nuan with worry. “Are you tired?”

“Hmm…” An Nuan nodded. She leaned closer to Lin Xiao Feng and whispered. “I am a bit sleepy.”

Lin Xiao Feng’s eyes turned softer. “Alright. I will go and tell them to prepare the car. We’ll head back first.”

“Don’t you want to stay and drink with your friends?”

“It’s alright. I need to accompany my wife. Nuan Nuan, you are the most important.”
