Chapter 39: His Dissatisfaction Slowly Decrease

“Mom, Grandfather’s back?” Lin Xiao Feng turned to his mother as An Nuan excused herself and headed to the bathroom.

Song Luan heaved a sigh. “I did not expect that he would return this early as well. It seemed that his meeting ended early.” She patted her son’s hand a few times. “Don’t worry about him. Your grandfather won’t do or say anything to An Nuan that would make her feel wrong. He’s upstairs in his study. I don’t think he will meet An Nuan. Anyway, I’m still here if anything happens..”

Lin Xiao Feng nodded. For now, he believed that his grandfather would not stumble into An Nuan.

An Nuan was not the granddaughter-in-law that his grandfather had envisioned. Although his grandfather had accepted his marriage to An Nuan now, Lin Xiao Feng was still worried that his grandfather would do and say something inappropriate.

Lin Xiao Feng stayed in the kitchen to speak with his mother privately.

Their conversation stopped as the mother and son heard the grandfather’s voice coming from the living room.

Lin Xiao Feng’s heart skipped a beat.

He exchanged a look with his mother before rushing out.

His brow furrowed when he saw his grandfather and wife in the living room. Judging from the situation, it seemed that An Nuan was waiting for him in the living room after she came out of the bathroom. Unexpectedly, she met with his grandfather.

Instinctively, Lin Xiao Feng picked up his pace and walked over to An Nuan. He blocked her from his grandfather’s line of gaze before greeting the older man. “Grandfather.”

Lin Chuan narrowed his eyes as he saw his grandson. A chuckle escaped his lips as he noticed that his grandson was blocking the woman behind him.

“When did you arrive?” Lin Chuan said. “You brought home your wife. Why didn’t you tell me?”

“I was going to find you later,” Lin Xiao Feng said.

The old man snorted. His instinct was telling him that Lin Xiao Feng was not planning to mention An Nuan’s visit. If he had not run into An Nuan now, he would not know that the young lady had visited their house.

Of course, Lin Chuan knew the reason his grandson was so afraid of his meeting with An Nuan.

Lin Chuan chose to ignore his grandson and tried to peek at the woman behind Lin Xiao Feng. Then, he caught An Nuan tugging on Lin Xiao Feng’s hand before she came out from his grandson’s back.

“Grandfather.” An Nuan smiled. “I’m sorry that it took me a while to come and visit you.”

Lin Chuan silently scrutinized the young lady.

His dissatisfaction towards An Nuan slowly decreased when he saw the woman standing beside his grandson. At least she was brave enough to face him.

Lin Chuan would not be happy if An Nuan chose to let his grandson block her from him.

Lin Xiao Feng was going to be someone in politics.

Like his grandfather, Lin Chuan hoped that Lin Xiao Feng would excel in his career and make them proud. He had helped to pave the path for him until Lin Xiao Feng got to where he is now.

Regarding Lin Xiao Feng’s marriage… Lin Chuan hoped that his grandson would marry someone who could help him in his career.

Therefore, he was not very happy when Lin Xiao Feng told him that he was going to marry An Nuan.

The An and Lin family have been neighbors for too long.

Lin Chuan watched An Nuan grow up and understood the young lady’s temperament for a bit. He felt that An Nuan was too soft and could not bear hardship.

Therefore, Lin Chuan always thought that An Nuan was not a suitable match for Lin Xiao Feng.

The grandfather and grandson had a long talk and Lin Chuan finally relented on accepting An Nuan.

But now that Lin Chuan was meeting An Nuan for the first time after their marriage, Lin Chuan obviously had to observe An Nuan a little more.

He had little expectation of An Nuan and was surprised when he saw the young lady coming out from his grandson’s protection.

Lin Chuan had visited An Nuan’s grandparents a few days ago to discuss his grandson’s marriage to An Nuan.

People were already talking about Lin Xiao Feng snatching An Nuan when the original groom left.

He could not let people continue saying anything bad about Lin Xiao Feng and ruin his reputation.

Being in politics was not easy. Lin Chuan could not give his grandson’s enemy to use this marriage to bring Lin Xiao Feng down.

“Grandfather, I only returned yesterday.” An Nuan said. ”

Lin Chuan nodded again. Then, he shifted his gaze to his daughter-in-law who stood at the door. “An Nuan is here to visit. Go ahead and prepare something for her to eat.”

The light in Song Luan’s eyes lit up. She was glad that her father-in-law was not making things difficult for Lin Xiao Feng and An Nuan. “Of course. I’ll go right away.”

“Grandfather, there’s no need to prepare anything,” An Nuan said. She glanced at Lin Xiao Feng and held his hand. “Lin Xiao Feng and I had our meal outside. I am still full.”

“Just prepare some refreshments,” Lin Chuan told his daughter-in-law before looking at An Nuan again. “Let’s have something while we talk. You can drink tea?”

“Tea is good.” An Nuan nodded.

Lin Xiao Feng pursed his lips as he shot an inquiring look at his grandfather. He knew that he could not take An Nuan away now.
