Chapter 55: An Nuan’s Sketches

Lin Xiao Feng swept his eyes around the room as he sat on the sofa.

The little boy had long left his side when he heard that the adults had something to discuss.

An Nuan took her nephew to her desk and gave him some papers and a pencil to draw. When she turned around, An Nuan saw Lin Xiao Feng sitting on the sofa while looking around her room.

She could not help thinking that it was strange to see someone like Lin Xiao Feng in her bedroom. This scene was something that she would never expect to see.

An Nuan looked around and finally heaved in relief upon noticing that she had not left anything inappropriate for Lin Xiao Feng to see.

The sound of the footsteps made Lin XiaoFeng look up. He met An Nuan’s gaze and watched as she sat across from him.

“What do you want to discuss with me?” An Nuan asked.

Lin Xiao Feng took a brief second to compose his thoughts before he spoke again, “I’ll be staying in Y City for a few days. I’ll have to go back to Capital City on the weekend.”

An Nuan looked surprised. She did not expect that Lin Xiao Feng’s stay in Y City this time would be brief.

He went back to Capital City a few days ago before returning. And now, he was going back again.

She wondered if Lin Xiao Feng was tired.

Was he going back and forth because of her?

An Nuan shook that thought away from her head. She reminded herself not to overthink lest she would create an unnecessary misunderstanding.

“You… Aren’t you tired? Going back and forth to Capital City?” An Nuan asked.

A faint smile curled on Lin Xiao Feng’s lips. He always liked it when An Nuan sounded like she was concerned about him.

“Well, it’s alright,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “It’s not like I have much choice. My work is in Capital City. Meanwhile, my family is here.”

An Nuan thought about Lin Xiao Feng’s family. He was the only child of his parents. As the younger generation, he would want to check on his elders frequently.

She never thought that Lin Xiao Feng included her as his family.

A breath of relief escaped her lips. An Nuan was glad that she did not entertain her thoughts earlier. Or else she would be embarrassed.

“Anyway, I was wondering if it would be possible for us to settle a few things,” Lin Xiao Feng said. He let out a cough when he noticed the confusion in An Nuan’s face. “We had our wedding a few weeks ago. But we still haven’t dealt with a lot of documentation. A few days ago, my mother reminded me that we needed to get our marriage certificate.”

An Nuan lowered her head as she recalled that they both indeed needed to settle their documentation.

Last time, they both had signed the documents.

However, they still need to head over to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get their marriage certificate.

“Alright.” An Nuan quickly agreed. She considered Lin Xiao Feng’s busy schedule and continued, “Let’s visit the bureau tomorrow morning.”

Lin Xiao Feng smiled. He was happy that An Nuan had not changed her mind about marrying him.

Actually, with his power, it wouldn’t be difficult for him to ask a few favors and register their marriage without them heading to the Civil Affairs Bureau. Getting a photo with An Nuan would be easy as well.

However, Lin Xiao Feng wanted to experience going to the Civil Affairs Bureau with An Nuan.

Last time, he had heard about his friends’ experiences. Other than Zhang Yu Han and Wei Jun Hao said the excitement was different. Lin Xiao Feng remembered their words and thought that he wanted to experience that feeling as well.

Later, Lin Xiao Feng told An Nuan a few other matters that they needed to do.

Before he went back to Capital City, Lin Xiao Feng planned to bring An Nuan to meet his group of friends.

His brothers were unable to attend his wedding. Therefore, they were looking forward to this meeting with An Nuan.

This time, it was agreed that they were going to gather at Zhang Yu Han’s house.

The couple stayed in An Nuan’s room for a while to discuss some matters they had to do while Lin Xiao Feng was in Y City. Just then, the sound of running footsteps made them both look up.

An Yi Ran ran over to their side while holding a stack of papers.

“Little Aunt!” An Yi Ran called in excitement. He slid into the sofa next to his aunt while showing her the papers in his hand. “Did you draw these?”

An Nuan looked at the papers and realized that her nephew was holding the sketches she made the other day. She had thought that she had discarded the papers. However, An Nuan did not expect her nephew to find them.

“Little Aunt, they look so pretty,” An Yi Ran said. “Why did you throw them away? I found them in the wastepaper basket.”

He accidentally dropped the pencil into the wastepaper basket beside the table. When he picked it up, he found the stack of paper and saw the sketches.

An Nuan chuckled. “I wasn’t happy with the drawing.”

“Hmm?” An Yi Ran tilted his head to one side. “I think it looks pretty.” He then recalled that his aunt had taught him to draw a little bit. “Little Aunt, teach me to draw again next time.”

An Nuan laughed. “Alright.”

“Are those your sketches?” Lin Xiao Feng asked. He watched as An Nuan turned to him. “Mind if I take a look?”

An Nuan hesitated. Then, she figured that it would not hurt to let Lin Xiao Feng see her sketches. After all, he might not understand them that much.

She took the papers and passed them to Lin Xiao Feng. Her heart was beating fast as she watched him check her drawings.

“Have you decided to work independently?” Lin Xiao Feng asked as he went through the papers.

“Well, that was the plan. But I haven’t made a proper plan.”

Lin Xiao Feng nodded. “Come to me if you need any help. I might know a few people who can help you get some ideas for your plan.” His gaze then fell on a ring that An Nuan sketched.

He could tell that the sketch was not complete and An Nuan had given up halfway.

A thought came to his mind, making him look up again.

“You still aren’t happy with your sketches?

“Hmm…” An Nuan pursed her lips. She remembered that Lin Xiao Feng happened to see the papers on her desk the last time they had a video call.

“I wonder if I could ask you to design something for me?”

An Nuan looked interested. “What do you need me to do?”

Lin Xiao Feng coughed. Then, he raised his left hand. “The wedding ring you gave me was quite loose. I wonder if it’s too much to ask you to do a new one for me?”

An Nuan stared at the ring on Lin Xiao Feng’s finger with a dazed look on her face.

That ring was a ring that she prepared for Pei Zhi Yi.

Lin Xiao Feng was slimmer. Of course, the ring would be loose on Lin Xiao Feng’s finger.

Now that she thought about it, it seemed inappropriate to let Lin Xiao Feng wear a ring meant for someone else.
