Chapter 57: Lin Xiao Feng is Satisfied

Lin Xiao Feng was in a good mood.

He went to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get a marriage certificate with the love of his life and now, the two of them were walking along the street side by side while shopping for a few items for their elders.

The two of them had their wedding ceremony a few weeks ago. However, Lin Xiao Feng only felt that he and An Nuan had become husband and wife after they had received their marriage certificate.

He could not remember the last time he had been this happy.

Right now, Lin Xiao Feng is satisfied.

It does not matter if An Nuan never loves him in this lifetime.

As long as he could stay by her side quietly like this, he would be happy.

Lin Xiao Feng did not want to be too greedy and lose everything.

“Lin Xiao Feng.”

An Nuan’s voice snapped him out of his thoughts. Before An Nuan could see that he was peeking at her, Lin Xiao Feng quickly looked away.

“What do you think about this?” An Nuan raised the packaging of a health product in her hand. “I think this is suitable. I remember my grandfather drinking this tonic.”

“Then, we should get this one,” Lin Xiao Feng said.

“Should we get one for your grandfather as well?”

Lin Xiao Feng studied the packaging for a while before nodding. “I think this should be good. Then, let’s get a few of them.”

An Nuan turned to the sales assistant and asked her to pack a few boxes of the health product for them.

When the sales assistant walked away, An Nuan turned to Lin Xiao Feng again. “Next, we should get something for my mother and your mother. Do you have any preferences? Or would you let me decide on what to get? I think I should know your mother’s preference well.”

Their mothers were friends. An Nuan had spent a lot of time with Lin Xiao Feng’s mother in the past. She felt that she might understand his mother’s taste.

“Then, I will let you choose,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “I’ll advise you if it is not suitable.”

An Nuan smiled. “Okay.”

“We should get something for your brother and his family as well,” Lin Xiao Feng reminded An Nuan. “I don’t know what he liked. I will have to ask you to choose something suitable.”

An Nuan nodded again.

Her head whirled to think of something suitable she could get for her brother, her sister-in-law, and her nephew.

Everyone was going to receive a gift. They would be happy to receive something as well.

The couple walked over to the counter to make their payment.

Lin Xiao Feng swiftly took out his wallet and tapped his card on the terminal.

He glanced at An Nuan and was glad that she was not fighting with him to make the payment.

Lin Xiao Feng carried the shopping bags before they went to another store to buy something for everyone else.

It was past lunch hour when they were finally done with their shopping.

An Nuan placed a hand on her stomach. After walking around for a long time, she was tired and hungry.

“Should we have something to eat before we go back?” Lin Xiao Feng suggested. He noticed that An Nuan had been patting her stomach a few times and glancing at a few cafes they passed by.

An Nuan quickly agreed. She was worried that if she waited for a while longer, her stomach would let out a loud growl. Then, she would be too embarrassed to face Lin Xiao Feng.

After walking for a bit, the couple decided to stop by a cafe and have a light meal.

In the evening, they were going to have a big meal when both their families gathered.

While having their lunch together, An Nuan and Lin Xiao Feng discussed what was going to happen during the meal with their families later.

The main topic for their conversation should revolve around their marriage. The elders would want to know their plan. Lin Xiao Feng and An Nuan sat together while discussing what they would tell their elders next.

Lin Xiao Feng could not hide the smile in his eyes as he looked at the woman in front of him.

The couple went back once they had finished their meal.

Worried that An Nuan would be too tired, Lin Xiao Feng volunteered to drive back.

An Nuan continued to chat with Lin Xiao Feng on their way back.

The car was approaching the entrance to their houses when An Nuan noticed a familiar car parked beside the guard house.

Her heart skipped a beat as her eyes fell on the familiar figure.

Even from afar, An Nuan could recognize Pei Zhi Yi.

Instinctively, An Nuan shrunk her body to hide.

She had forgotten that Lin Xiao Feng’s window was tinted.

Pei Zhi Yi did not know Lin Xiao Feng or recognize his car. Pei Zhi Yi would not pay attention to Lin Xiao Feng’s car and noticed her.

However, this was the first time she had seen Pei Zhi Yi so close after he left her on their wedding day.

The last time An Nuan went out with Ren Di, she had seen his car pass by as well. However, he could not see his face clearly.

What she did not see was that Lin Xiao Feng noticed Pei Zhi Yi as well as An Nuan’s movement.

His hand gripped the steering wheel tighter as he wondered what was going through An Nuan’s mind.

“That person.” Lin Xiao Feng broke the silence. “He is your ex, right?”

An Nuan was startled to hear Lin Xiao Feng’s voice. She composed her thoughts and sat up straight again. “Hmm…”

“You haven’t met him after that day?”

An Nuan heaved a breath when the car finally passed the guard house and could no longer see Pei Zhi Yi’s figure.

“I haven’t.” An Nuan said. A smile that did not reach her eyes curled on her lips. “Nothing is going on between us. There’s no point in meeting him.”

“But it seemed that he hasn’t stopped trying to see you again,” Lin Xiao Feng pointed out.
