Chapter 58: Not Going to See Him

An Nuan shifted her gaze to Lin Xiao Feng immediately and stared at him in silence for a while.

“I heard that he often comes here and waits at the guard post.,” Lin Xiao Feng continued, His knuckles turned white from gripping the steering wheel too tightly. “An Nuan, don’t you want to see him?”

His heart was hurting as he said those words. The thought of An Nuan meeting her ex and reconciling their relationship hurt so much. Lin Xiao Feng was thinking that if An Nuan reconciled with his ex, the pain would be unbearable. It was going to hurt more than the ten whips he received.

But then, Lin Xiao Feng was also curious about what was going through An Nuan’s mind. Most of all, he did not want An Nuan to have any regrets.

Seeing her reaction just now made him wonder if An Nuan still had some feelings for that man.

“No.” An Nuan finally let out an answer. “I am not going to see him.”

Subconsciously, Lin Xiao Feng loosened his grip on the steering wheel when he heard An Nuan’s words.

He was relieved to know that An Nuan was not planning to see that man.

“I have already said what I need to say when he left,” An Nuan said. “I don’t think there are any other words I want to say to him. As for what he wanted to say to me, well… I am not interested in listening to him. Our relationship ended when he walked away.”

Lin Xiao Feng pursed his lips. As they finally reached their housing area, Lin Xiao Feng parked his car in An Nuan’s area. He planned to leave his car there and let An Nuan use it later.

The car already stopped. However, it did not seem as if the couple were going to alight from the car anytime soon.

Both of them stayed silent, each minding their own thoughts.

“Lin Xiao Feng…” It was An Nuan who broke the silence. “I haven’t really spoken to you about the reason my ex and I separated.”

An Nuan felt that she needed to clarify some matters with Lin Xiao Feng to avoid some misunderstanding between them.

“You already know that Pei Zhi Yi left on my wedding day,” An Nuan continued. “He left because of another woman.” A chuckle escaped her lips. “And that was not the first time he had left me for that woman.”

Lin Xiao Feng wanted to ask why An Nuan stayed with her ex for so long if he did not appreciate her.

“That other woman is his adopted sister,” An Nuan said. “Their parents have been friends for so long. When that woman’s parents passed away, my ex’s parents took her home and treated her like their own daughter. My ex told me that he considered that woman as his younger sister. But I think that woman should mean a lot more.”

Lin Xiao Feng recalled that An Nuan had mentioned to her ex’s younger sister that she had run into during her visit to the mall not too long ago. He remembered asking his friend, Wei Jun Hao to investigate the ex’s family. However, his friend had not shared anything with him yet.

“I decided that I no longer wanted to be entangled with them,” An Nuan said. “Lin Xiao Feng, I am not going to meet that man or give him another chance.”

Lin Xiao Feng stayed in the car and listened to An Nuan telling him about her ex.

The two of them finally alighted from the car once An Nuan had stated to her standing that she was not interested in reconciling with Pei Zhi Yi again.

An Nuan watched as Lin Xiao Feng walked back to his house before she entered the house.

The surroundings were quiet when An Nuan stepped in. As she was about to find someone to ask about her family members, An Nuan saw her sister-in-law walking down the stairs.

“Nuan Nuan?” Tian Xin called as their gazes met. “You’re back. Where did you go? Mom said you went out early in the morning.”

“I went out with Lin Xiao Feng.”

There was a trace of surprise in Tian Xin’s eyes when she heard An Nuan’s answer. Then, a smile appeared on her face.

Before Tian Xin could tease if the couple went on a date, An Nuan pulled out the wedding certificate from her bag. “We went to get our wedding certificate.”

Tian Xin’s eyes widened in surprise. She went to An Nuan’s side to look at the red book. Tian Xin inhaled a sharp breath the moment she saw An Nuan and Lin Xiao Feng’s photo on the wedding certificate.

“Congratulations.” Tian Xin pulled An Nuan into a hug.

She then recalled another matter that her husband had told her previously.

Before An Nuan and Pei Zhi Yi wanted to get married, Pei Zhi Yi had convinced An Nuan to get their wedding certificate first. However, for some reason she did not know about, An Nuan’s parents did not agree.

Instead, they convinced An Nuan to sign the paperwork on the wedding day and submit it to the Civil Affairs Bureau the next day.

An Nuan did not reject their idea and instantly agreed.

Perhaps, she too had anticipated that something would happen before the wedding.

Tian Xin did not know what An Nuan was going through An Nuan’s mind.

Pei Zhi Yi left. So, it was Lin Xiao Feng who signed the paperwork on the wedding day. However, they did not submit the documents as they did not know whether An Nuan was serious about marrying Lin Xiao Feng.

Seeing that the couple had decided to register their marriage, Tian Xin guessed that An Nuan planned to stay married to Lin Xiao Feng.

This was also good.

Tian Xin could see that Lin Xiao Feng was a good man. The way he watched An Nuan was always gentle. She believed Lin Xiao Feng’s words when he told An Nuan’s parents that he liked An Nuan.

“Thank you.” An Nuan tried to smile but it felt a bit awkward. “I haven’t told Mom and Dad yet. I wonder what they will say later.”

“I’m sure they will be happy.” Tian Xin patted An Nuan’s head. “But you have to wait for them to return. Just now, your elder brother took them out to buy something.”

An Nuan nodded. “Then, I will wait for their return.”

Tian Xin observed An Nuan for a while before speaking again. “Nuan Nuan.” She flashed a faint smile as their gazes met. “Should we talk?”
